I didn't know "Made from the scratch" means we could have been choked by small chicken bone pieces. When I found them inside my mouth unexpectedly, the manager explained that it's because the food are made from the scratch. I ordered the beef and chicken combo lunch quesadilla, and while I was eating I almost choked by the small piece inside my mouth. At first I thought it might have been a small mistake so I continued eating but I kept chewing the small chicken bone pieces until my friend who shared my food also chewed the piece and hurt her tooth. When finally we told the waiter about this, he just said oh? and went to call the manager. Then the manager came asking, is everything ok, so I said no and explained what happened. Without any apology, he coldly asked if we need to see a dentist or medical doctor. We said we don't need it but it could have been dangerous for young children or anyone who accidentally could swallow them, the manager asked me so rudely so what we want! Hey, what we need is safe food to eat without worrying to be choked by chicken bones at the restaurant! The manager just said he will inform the kitchen and left without single apology, then the waiter came back with the bill without charging the quesadilla. Their gesture is crying out loud that they will not charge us, nor apologize as if we were asking anything unreasonable. It was the worst customer-care I see and the worst "remedies" the manager was saying. read more

Went on Sunday after church. Love the brunch menu! Nice outdoor seating minus the flies. Service was a little slow but the food was delicious! I ordered the tacos de canasta in which I order two chorizo and one with bacon. They were cooked to protection! My son ordered the chicken and waffles in which the the chicken was a little over cooked but my son cleared his plate regardless. I love the atmosphere and vibe of this place, very chill and the outside seating feels kind of like eating on your friend's patio in their backyard. I wasn't overwhelmingly impressed with the food, but I did enjoy the drink I ordered. Certainly could have been worse. I came to this place on a Thursday night, around 8. Had to wait about 35 minutes for a table, but that was to be expected by the number of people in the restaurant. For a Thursday, it was pretty busy, so I killed time at the bar with my party which flew by. Wish I could remember the name of our bartender, she was prompt, friendly, and knew her stuff! I ordered the sea bass tacos and we shared the table side guac. The fish was a bit dry, but the flavor was there overall and the pickled cabbage was a nice touch. The guac was pretty good. I'm not usually one for bacon in mine, but I'm glad I took a chance and have no regrets. I also have to say that their drink menu is killing it. SO many margaritas to choose from that it can definitely be a bit overwhelming, but I truly believe that it's hard to make the wrong choice. My wife and I stopped here for dinner on our way to a show in Dallas. It was very good, I was impressed by the portion size and the flavor of the food. We had the made at the table guacamole and it was excellent. I would easily give 0 stars if possible. We love Mi Dia, we've been going every Friday for 3 years with minimal bad things to say, but after todays visit we very well may never go back. Our reservation was at 2:15 so that we could have brunch. Our server didn't take our order until 2:55 & didn't ring our order in until after 3, I know this because they quit doing brunch because I had to order something else from the menu per the server. We didn't get our food until closer to 3:55, yep an hour after ordering. The server, nor manager smiled the entire time. The server also gave us ugly looks and had a horrendous attitude when taking care of us - including rolling her eyes. Both were equally terrible. I'm both appalled and disappointed in todays visit. I simply wanted to drink my two favorite cocktails and have their brunch menu Huevos Ahogados for Mothers Day, that's all. My Bloody Mary was watered down and god awful & I ended up with a salad because the server was incompetent at her job. I also want those who are using my review to debate going to the restaurant to keep in mind that I have both served and bartended for 10 years - I do not leave bad reviews often. I also give the befit of the doubt - today was terrible - Mothers Day is the busiest day of the year - there should have been two managers and several more servers - there is absolutely no excuse for our visit today. Nachos are good - they put a piece of chicken on each one that's as large as the chip. It's pretty pricey. I'd go to Chuy's down the street instead. read more

Having a family of 6 might be a little difficult on a kitchen since we all order different things. Some like things that are made quick and some like things that take a while. It seemed as though they may of started making all of it at the same time. Since 2 of of 6 were not warm when they hit the table. I'm sure the kitchen was hopping since it was Mother's Day. These type of days probably stress tested the operations. New people that have not worked a day like this may of had a rude awakening. I would go on a regular day in the future but not a day that pressures the team to be excellent. This type of food is not my favorite so they have to be perfect on my stuff since I have a fake smile while I'm sitting there. My family are the fans of this type of eatery & they were just meh about what they ordered. We did eat all the hot cheese in a bowl!!!! That was a winner. Everything this restaurant served us was the best I've ever had. Great atmosphere and wonderful food made from scratch. Queso, guacamole,and salsas were magnificent. My carne asada was the best I've had hands down. The manager came by our table and offered us free dessert and mentioned the house made ice cream. Do yourself a favor and start with the table side guacamole as an appetizer. It's HUGE and so stinking' good. If you're like me, you'll get overly excited and eat too much guac and be full before your main course. Everything about this place is special! From their entirely made from scratch menu offerings, to their table side guacamole, to their "tequila tower" with over 100 different varieties of tequilas! I've been here twice for dinner and the first time was great, but the second was fantastic! We had an awesome server who told us about their 2 featured margaritas of the month and their mixologist with craft a specialty drink using that brand of tequila. I can honestly say that I've never had a purple margarita! Oh my god it was incredible! I can't stop thinking about it! The other margarita I had was made with a mescal and had a smoky fabulous flavor to it. The presentation alone is all part of the "WOW" factor you get with these works-of-art libations! Finally tried Mi Dia recently and I'm sad it took me so long! We came for dinner on a Saturday night with a party of six, so I was glad I had called to make a reservation because the place was packed. Our server greeted us almost as soon as we were seated and made great suggestions on appetizers and some of their specialty cocktails. First impressions are everything and for a Tex Mex restaurant, I'm quick to form an opinion based on the chips and salsa. Mi Dia's chips and salsa are BOMB - probably the best I've had in a while. Each person gets their own salsa bowl, which is served with both red and green salsa. Salsa is actually spicy (woohoo!) and chips are thin (my personal preference). Appetizers: As a table, we got the queso, which was good, and the tableside guacamole, which was amazing. Who puts bacon in guacamole?! Everyone was raving about the guac and we definitely cleaned that bowl. It's a huge serving (I think they use three large avocados?), but I'd be tempted to order the guac anyone even if husband and I come back for dinner alone. Entree: I had the duck carnitas street tacos while husband ordered the sea bass tacos. Street tacos come four to an order, so I got to swap one of my tacos for one of his and I have to admit, I totally kicked myself for not going with the sea bass! The sea bass was cooked perfectly and all of the flavors in the taco (chile rub, pickled cabbage, avocado, and a remoulade) went together so well. The duck carnitas was cooked well, but it didn't have as much flavor as I was hoping. The sauce it was served with definitely helped dial up the flavor a notch though, so I still enjoyed it. I'm not even normally a big fan of Mexican rice but I really enjoyed (and devoured) the poblano rice that came with the tacos. Another personal preference, but I preferred their corn tortillas (which is nice and thin but did not break) over the flour. Our party ordered various things for dinner from soup to tacos to enchiladas and everyone left full and happy. With its great food, service, atmosphere, and location, Mi Dia has definitely been added onto our regular rotation for Mexican food! read more

My friends have been raving about a Tex mex place that makes fresh guacamole right in front of you so I had to try it for myself. This place is super trendy and the wait staff was very friendly. We got the fresh guacamole with everything in it to start, and even the presentation was awesome. A lady with a cart comes to your table and makes it right in front of you with whatever mix ins you would like. As my entree I got the traditional street tacos. My friends also got the shrimp tacos, quesadilla, and the side skirt entree (I forgot the exact name!) What makes thinks place even more unique though are their drinks. They have a speciality drink menu and they are quite strong- at least for me! Overall this place would be a cool place to drink and hang out, and the food was decent, my only complaint was that the Baja shrimp tacos gave me and my friend food poisoning - we traded some of our tacos and we both paid for it later. read more

He came up to our table and just stood there for a minute and a half without even speaking, just standing there leaving us to wonder who the hell he is, wtf he's doing and what's going on. Extremely impressed by this 3-in-1 concept in Plano of all places. I would not expect something like this to be in the 'burbs but I'm glad they have good things, too. When you walk in you're delighted by the upscale, Latin-inspired décor with a beautiful outdoor patio. Mi Dia is based on Tex-Mex, New Mexican and traditional Mexican classics. The menu is expansive but not overwhelming, which I appreciate. As soon as you're sat you'll receive a combination of roasted green and also red salsas. I'm a major fan of their salsa verde. They also have a nice drink menu that you should at least look over. Our server, Brittany, was incredible. Very attentive and helpful, as it was our first time. Her service definitely added to our overall experience, and we are both so grateful. I was directed to a "pick your own" with 1-, 2- and 3-item plates in the Tex-Mex section, which led me to chicken enchiladas with mole sauce. Although, I had my eye on their huitlacoche (corn truffle) quesadillas. My boyfriend loved his chicken tinga tacos which he was pleasantly surprised with between two choices on the menu. We both ate every single last bite on our plates, which is rare for two tiny people. The food is jam packed with flavors.
