    Fruit plate

Located in the Sweetwater community, this Mi Cancun is similar to other like restaurants. Although it was busy on a Sunday evening, our party of three adults and two children were seated right away, Service was fast and efficient, definitely kid-friendly. Food was typical Mexican fare although other options are available. Our four year old chose the hamburger and a fruit plate. The fruit plate was really nice. We chose a variety of dishes... burrito, tacos, shrimp, chicken and rice. The complementary chips and salsa was good. We chose to have the guacamole made side table. That was really fresh and tasty. At times the music was a little loud. Definable happening place. Overall, nice place if you want to grab some Mexican cuisine with friendly service. Outside seating is also available.

Mi Cancun is one of our regular spots. The food is always fresh, dependable and delicious. Drinks are very good and very generous. Service has always been great. Servers are very efficient and attentive. The ambiance is similar to the other locations & other Mexican restaurants. It's clean, bright and buzzing with energy.

Good service, good drinks and good food. Food is always fresh and hot and delivered promptly. only wish they had more seafood and chicken choices without add red meats or organs. Would also like a choice of beans or rice, somehow I always end up with rice and would prefer beans.

This was my first time at this new Sweet Water location. All of the staff were friendly and attentive. The food came out hot and fast. I ate the Enchiladas Suizas which was delicious! There was so much flavor in this dish. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside. I will be eating here again!

Shrimp Enchiladas Verdes, but were really more like soft tacos. Folded like a taco and barely any sauce.

This was our first time trying out a Mi Cancun and we selected the Apex location in the new Sweetwater development. The atmosphere was bright and colorful, and the service was good. The restaurant seemed clean, but the first thing we noticed is that our drinks stuck to the table, you could move them, but they were noticeably sticking. I am thinking perhaps it is the varnish on the table that makes them stick. I ordered the Shrimp Enchiladas Verdes, however, they seemed more like a soft taco as they were not rolled like an enchilada, but folded over like a soft taco (see pic). And they were not filled with any sauce, but with just shrimp and onions, folded over, and some green sauce, cheese, onion, and cilantro on top. The taste was fine, but I was hoping for a nice saucy enchilada, rolled like every other enchilada I have ever eaten, and filled with a nice sauce that you could eat with the rice. My husband had the California burrito. It was not wrapped well as when he went to pick it up to eat, it just kinda fell apart so he had to use a knife and fork to eat it. I did like the selection of sides which include rice and beans, chicken soup, organic spring mix salad, sweet corn on the cob, or esquite. I got the rice and beans, they were good, but is was the smallest portion of rice I have ever received at a Mexican restaurant.

The service and food were excellent. We had ACP Shrimp and Carnitas Tacos with Spring Salad. Quick refills and friendly service. Nice decor. The only negative was the noise level, hard to hear. They also had nice outdoor seating.

As usual everything was fantastic! Many choices on the menu. Extremely friendly staff. The bar is now open too.

Newly opened but well worth the visit. The service was fast and they had outdoor seating. The food was flavored well and they had house made sauce for those that want a spicier kick.

Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring our drinks were always full and checking on us at just the right moments without being overbearing. The food was absolutely delicious. The fried flounder was outstanding--perfectly crispy on the outside, incredibly flaky and fresh on the inside, and not greasy at all. We also tried the Chicken Jarrett, which was incredibly savory, juicy, and packed with flavor. It is a fantastic option if someone in your party wants a break from seafood! The…read moremini crab cakes were a perfect starter and I enjoyed their very flavorful but not spicy version of their popular shrimp & grits. Nice atmosphere inside, but recommend reservations as they fill up quickly. The Deets: Some friends/coworkers and I decided to catch up over a meal and we decided on trying out this location of Cape Fear Seafood Co. on Lake Pine Drive. I had been to the one located in the Village District (formerly Cameron Village) of DTR in the past and knew of this one opening up through Yelp. If you know me, I am usually not one for seafood but remember I had a pretty good experience at the one in DTR. We noted that it would be a good idea to have a reservation so one was made. Good thing, this place gets crowded fast, even around the 5pm point. Upon arrival, we were promptly shown to a table with menus. While walking in, this restaurant has that beach type feeling with brightly painted areas and subtle pelagic decor without going overboard. The bar area gave a warm, inviting vibe. Back to the menu, their menu is pretty expansive but not over the top multiple pages. I think even the non-seafood lover can find something to like here. We started with hush puppies for the table and I went with the appetizer sized mini crab cakes for myself. I loved the mini crab cakes and the lemon beurre blanc sauce with them, just enough for a starter and tasted great. The hush puppies were good as well but just a tiny bit too brown for me, they were a little bit more done than I'd like. I like them more of a golden finish instead of brown, just my preference. For my main dish, I went with their Cape Fear Shrimp & Grits. They are a pretty popular choice here and I remember liking them at the DTR location. They remained a great choice, they were delicious. They are very flavorful and enjoyable without being spicy, which I like as I am non-spicy food person and it seems most everywhere does their shrimp & grits spicy. I find this take on them refreshing. I would have liked more cheese grits in the serving as it seems to be like a half serving, however the shrimp as well as the creamy sauce were plentiful. Service did a good job here, checking on us periodically. In all, I liked this experience here at Cape Fear Seafood Co. for the most part and would enjoy visiting again in the future.

BUT let's be honest, some grown-ups are kids at heart too :) A visit to a Mexican restaurant is incomplete without margaritas, so we tried the house margarita and the mangonada. The mangonada was bold, flavorful & perfectly paired with that Tajín-style kick! The server was polite and attentive, which made the experience even better. The food was OK. The chips were a little thick for my taste and the sauce was a bit too sweet, but it was not bad I had the enchiladas and they were pretty standard. It said they came with three different sauces, but mine only had the red sauce. My daughter got the chimichanga. I tasted that and it was very good. As my grandkids loved this place I'm sure we'll go again. I'll have to order something different and see if I can raise my review.

But no, I was indeed at Sora and parked just fine on a Saturday afternoon. The woman up front let me sit where I wanted. Jenny was my server. She was welcoming, helpful and kind. There's a lot going on with their menu, but the pictures were generous. I appreciated that! With Jenny's help, I ordered the Rolls Royce and the Naruto Roll. Also, the pork bun and spicy edamame. It was too much food, btw. But the rolls were bogo, so I had to get two. Two winners, two almost losers. The Royce was flavorful while the Naruto was bland. They know this, so they give you a "Naruto Sauce," which didn't help much. Besides, the pieces were so loosely packed that their insides kept falling apart into the sauce bowl. It was a dumb scene and I'll never order it again. As far as flavor goes, the obligatory green horseradish concoction helped. A little. Pork bun was tasty, but it also fell apart, splitting at the back, exposing its rear like an outfit Prince would wear onstage. As crazy as it sounds, I'm gonna say the spicy edamame were the standout dish. But I couldn't finish the healthy portion, so I took it home. The prices are too high. I ended up paying $50 for the visit, while the rolls were bogo. Bogo deal and still $50! That's why I won't be back. Aside from the little missteps, it was still a positive outing, but the prices are a no-go. It's kind of upscale money when the borderline Five Guys interior doesn't justify it at all. 3.5 stars and rounding up because I'm nice. Best, A.

There was some confusion over the pizza special, which would have been ok except Seth the owner came over and handled the discussion so poorly that even the couple sitting behind us stopped by on their way out to say they were sorry for the exchange we experienced and would not be back. We probably won't be back either, which is a real shame because we are very loyal customers of many years.
