We were craving some Mexican food and came across this beautiful Mexican restaurant with outdoor seating. They have a smaller menu compared to other Mexicans places which I loved. We ordered there non alcoholic heinkin cocoktail, not a huge fan of sour cocktails so did not enjoy it as much but looked pretty fancy. Their red and green salsa and chips was just mind blowing, very crispy thin and freshly fried. For main course we ordered their grilled shrimp tacos, kids chicken quesadillas and black mole enchiladas. The tacos and quesadillas definitely tasted great, loved the perfectly grilled shrimp with guacamole on a soft tortillas, chicken quesadilla were less cheesy with more chicken that I really liked. Their rice and beans was absolutely delicious. The black mole enchiladas was an interesting dish, we dint quite enjoy the taste of the black mole which when we enquired about found out that it's a delicacy that's made of peanuts and 50 other ingredients. May be we need to develop a taste for it and then try it again. So order only when you really like experimenting with food coz it's also expensive. Overall a great experience and lot of learning haha. For desserts we wanted to try their churros, which was pretty average since the churros were still uncooked from inside. The service was quick and easy. The staff is very welcoming and courteous. Definitely going back to try their other menu items.

Wow just wow. This place is a MUST. We are in from out of town and came here before the Duke basketball game. Steak tacos and shrimp tacos were just amazing. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. Chips had a Tajin seasoning that are super fresh. The tortillas you can tell are homemade and oh so soft. The margaritas are hand shaken. No sour mix. The service was 10/10. Francisco was attentive, courteous and friendly. Restaurant beautiful, clean, simple. Can't wait to come back!!

Our second trip was a disappointment so I feel it's only right to update my rating. The restaurant had a strong odor - most likely dry floor drains since that is what it smelled like. There seemed to be plenty of staff and the restaurant was less than 1/2 full but it took some time for anyone to come by after we were seated. Service was okay from then on. Not great, but okay. I got the pork carnitas and only ate the pork. I didn't care for the sauce and the beans were room temp and flavorless - they needed salt and seasoning. That was disappointing. My husband got the flautas and thought they were okay. We got the chilaquiles as an appetizer and that was good. I've talked to others who say consistency is an issue in their experience. We were hoping this could be our new regular for Mexican but I really like consistency in food and service.

Skirt Steak tacos were amazing! We stopped in for lunch, and it totally lived up to its 5 star rating! Chips and salsa were warm and not too thick. My husband had the enchiladas verdes and they were delicious. The steak on my tacos was tender with great flavor. All of the ingredients were super fresh. Our server was friendly and attentive. The space is bright with floor to ceiling windows and very clean. I will definitely be back!

Stopped in at Meche Cocina Mexicana for lunch with a co-worker friend. We were told we could sit wherever we wanted, which was nice; but I don't know if that is something to expect every time. We ordered drinks and they were quickly delivered. While waiting on our entrees, we both noticed lots of pretty food coming out of the kitchen like wash dish was carefully crafted. When our entrees arrived, they were just as artisan-like as the others that walked past us. My fajitas were flavor bombs with warm chicken and beautifully cooked peppers and onions. My co-worker got steak tacos and had zero complaints. The sauces complimented our entrees well and were additional flavor bombs. This place is a bit of a hidden gem located on the end of a busy shopping area. Great job Meche Cocina! I'll be back when in the area!

Meche is the best Mexican food in the area. Very authentic with a great menu. We love it, and service is always top tier as well!

Excellent service--the people running this business seemed to care about their customers--from asking how our meal tasted, to asking how much we enjoyed our drinks, entrees & dessert. The manager was holding conversation with customers the entire time we were there--but he wasn't intrusive. Several of the servers who weren't waiting on us also asked! Again, you might think this was intrusive, but the timing was always right! Secondly, the Mexican cuisine was a far cry from what we have normally experienced in the area, and the seafood was extremely fresh! Don't sleep on the tacos!! It seemed more authentic (and delicious)! They make their own tortillas and that makes a difference--the entrees in this little spot seemed more like the restaurants we had patronized in San Diego. Lots of nice little touches everywhere! We had such a nice time--this was more of a dinner "experience" than just dinner. I hope this business thrives and I encourage you to check them out!

The food is so delicious. Best steak tacos I have ever had in my life. The chips are light, crispy and delicious. The margaritas are amazing. Francisco is the owner and bartender. So friendly and very attentive. An absolute blast. Now headed to the Duke game. We will be back. The ambiance was very chill and homey.

Wanted to try this new restaurant and we have been thrilled with the food, drinks and service. We have every Mexican restaurant that was at this location over the past 15 years and never wrote a review until today. If you haven't tried Meche, you need to. The food is amazing.

This is the best Mexican food I have ever had. Authentic and absolutely delicious. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. We had the Meche Ceviche, Peanut Mole Veggie Enchilada and Sonora Steak Tacos - all fantastic and so different. We then got for dessert Churros and a Brownie Cake. We will be back again and again!!!!

Chicken tortilla soup

Food is definitely a step above most Mexican restaurants in the area!. I highly recommend trying out!

Until a friend's meetup group scheduled an afternoon "let's have cocktails all afternoon" Friday. Yup, count me in! I got there right at the appointed time, and the early birds were already halfway into their wine. There is a large patio area outside with chairs and tables in small groups. A sunshade and some nicely placed trees help a little There are a few 2- and 4-tops scattered around as you enter. To the left is a large square bar that projects into the room. Behind it is a veritable library of liquors, towering to the ceiling, which is about 9-10 feet high. Seeing the bartender climb up the sliding ladder and fetch a spirit was part of the show. Further to the left are two seating areas with round tables. We had one of these. The Cabernet proved to be the darling of the group (I think we had three bottles and a few extra glasses, but no one was counting! There were eight of us, so don't think we're a bunch of drunks!) I had looked over the menu online and started with the "Up in Flames". It's a Tiki drink, served with a squeezed lime shell garnish that has a sugar cube and some kind of liquor in it. The waiter lights it while still on the tray, and then sprinkles in cinnamon, which sparkles into the drink. He then extinguishes the flame and serves it. It was quite a show and very delicious! If I ever go and sit outside, I'm going to film it! After a bit, we were getting hungry, so food started appearing. The fig & prosciutto flatbread arrived first, (with a single plate and napkin). It was a 12" x 6" flatbread spread with honey, figs, prosciutto, chèvre, and arugula. Another of these came out later. Quite delicious. Someone else had the nachos, which they said were amazing. After asking, the server brought out more plates and napkins. Other cocktails that we tried and enjoyed were the Perro Perdito (Lost Dog) and the Drastic Measures. The Mango-chili shrub in this one packed a bit more heat than the Jalapeño dip! But it was tasty, with the salt/tajin half-rim. After a few hours of fun food and drink and a lot of laughter, we decided to release our hold on the table. The dinner crowd was champing at the bit to take over, and we were pretty sated. Everyone was safe to drive, so we hugged all around and parted ways, well fed and better friends. Thanks, N&S. You may drag me back to Apex again any time!!

Spacious, laid-back, and ideal for lingering over cocktails way longer than originally planned. Cary keeps getting cooler, and this place is a big reason why.

Nice chic decor and a nice rooftop for cooler evenings. The patio has doors that remain open so the temperature inside was unbearable for me. Someone who does not have a good relationship with heat should not dine here in the heavy hot months. It was difficult to get cool. They don't serve anything in copper cups and there are not any frozen drink offerings. I ordered the crab dip. It was okay. Probably not the best option to go for here. I tried the focaccia which was very good. The Peruvian salmon was really good on the flavor. The rice was extremely overcooked (mushy) as if it had also been sitting. The carrots were pretty good. All of the food was lukewarm. I enjoyed the Queen's Park Swizzle as a refreshing and somewhat cold with plenty of ice. I recommend Nightingale if it's convenient for you. Nightingale is decent place for craft cocktails. I would not recommend on the food alone based on my experience.
