First of all, the staff were great and really attentive!…read more I went here with some friends for dinner and we were pretty underwhelmed overall. I like a lot of Oaxacan food but this spot just didn't deliver in the way I would hope. Some thoughts on dishes we had: Scallops were the worst scallops I've ever had. Super salty and incredibly chewy and tough. I love scallops and could barely eat one. Mushroom entree was great. Super cozy and tasty. Both the hamachi and the tostada de mariscos had really heavy sauces that were overwhelming and just not that great. The tostada sauce in particular made the whole thing soggy and very hard to eat. It was overpowering in an unpleasant way. The short rib was cooked fine but a very bland dish and all just so mushy- we would have loved some different textures. The drinks were good- would maybe return just for cocktails. The vibe of the restaurant was nice in my opinion, I loved the decor and dish choices. My friends felt it was too loud and hard to have a conversation. Overall just really disappointed in the food and would love to see this reworked a bit. The team seems great and I wish them success.

The service is always amazing, big shout out to Fiona who has taken care of us every time I've gone. The food is always immaculate and to die for, and you'll never catch me leaving before I've had an affogato. The space is intimate, cozy, and quiet. In so many ways it feels like you're having dinner in someone's dining room and everyone always seems to be having just as much fun as we are. I recommend just ordering everything that sounds good for the table and sharing. Nothing on the menu disappoints. Big love to Pompette!!!!

The service was quick and our waitress did a great job with recommendations. Dinner: Winter salad: great salad that felt fresh and filling Roasted beets: I love beet salad and the almost streusel was a great touch to this Burger: the burger was a special they had and it was so good! It was perfectly cooked and juicy. The sauce used was a very good mayo type sauce Overall, great space with a rotating menu based off the season. It'd love to come back and try their spring/summer menu

The staff was friendly and nice, but it took forever for us to get a drink order in on a not particularly busy day, the food coming out also took quite a bit of time, and generally the service was slightly awkward and weird. We sat on the "patio" which is actually more of a greenhouse, the music was too loud, which then made people talk loudly and the experience was slightly overwhelming. While the group of people I went with are big on dessert and wanted it, we wanted to leave more and ended up doing so and going somewhere else. Given that I went with someone who is a little more high-profile in Chicago, we also felt gawked at and had people walking by the table that were working just to get a look. Maybe we just came in on a off night, but it definitely killed the vibe.

It didn't even need cheese. I would come back for that burger alone but now I do want to try other things on the menu! I came in just before last order but was never made to feel rushed or hurried by the staff, and everything was efficient and courteous without being obtrusive. The space is cute! A note, however: I would get a table next time. The bar stools and the way the bar is positioned relative to them means you're either sitting sideways or with your knees jammed to the bar, and having to lean down to eat and drink... not very comfortable!

This is by the same owners, and I genuinely do not think that it will be open for the year. The service was pretty good, but honestly slow and we told them that it was my birthday and they did nothing? The cocktails were very good and honestly the reason I would come back here because they were clearly fresh and very strong and only $10! We tried the summer squash, the margarita, pizza, and the seasonal sweetcorn pizza. The margarita pizza was very forgettable and the summer squash was fine, but it was really just squash and a spicy vinaigrette? The real star of the whole meal was the sweetcorn pizza. This was honestly amazing and you can tell that the corn was very fresh. I honestly think that they should expand their menu beyond just pizzas and seafood because it's very random and I don't think the concept really meshes together. The pizza crust is great and my favorite part tbh. Very light, but still crunchy. The restaurant was very empty and again I think that they were trying to do something more casual than daisies but they just kind of missed the mark here with the concept. I still think that it's worth checking out especially for their happy hour or just to try the seasonal pizzas, but it's not really a place that I would go again. There is so much good pizza in the area as well and this was fine!

I am so glad not to have read the negative review of the Gather Half Chicken before our visit as my experience was amazing. As my wife does not eat mushrooms, she opted for the hamburger. After moving the mushroom slices to the side she made me share the chicken with her. Our son enjoyed his Fusilli as well. Finally, we had the strawberry shortcake and the cookies with malted milk and they also gave me some confetti cookies with a candle! Tater tots were fine, but in my opinion, nothing crazy although I did love the carrots and all of the salads are extremely fresh since everything is farm to table and locally sourced. They even have a greenhouse on campus that you can tour during the day. The burger was amazing- very unique flavors and again tasted so fresh! I also loved the chicken. The cookies and malted milk was insane. The only miss was the strawberry shortcake- really big basil flavor and just was too much. It's kind of in a random location so I would have to really plan to go here, but I love that they changed their menu constantly and I definitely want to try brunch! They also gave me a birthday menu for my birthday and I thought that was a great touch! Just a super relaxing place and my whole family loved it. When I asked if they were gluten-free, they informed they were not but they'd see what they could do. They came out later with a huge bowl of gluten-free potatoes. So delicious and they really went the extra mile. Other things I love about this restaurant is that they use local produce and I believe they have their own garden as well. They also had a meal that day that you could order and would benefit a local nonprofit. Highly recommend this place! Not only was the ambience great but they have several rooms, two of which you can reserve for a private party, and they also do weddings in a larger area on the property. Leslie, if you go to the back where they have one of their bathrooms, they have several small gift items available.
