She took SUCH great care of us and really went above and beyond to make the birthday special, such as the complimentary birthday champagne which we loved. Everything we tried was so tasty! Specifically the dishes that came with fries were our faves - the burger and the steak frites. The fries here are soo addicting! Perfect thickness and crispiness! Steak was cooked really beautifully and had a tasty chimichurri sauce. Blueberry lemon pancakes were yummy, as to be expected from a sister restaurant of Chez Ma Tante! And the banana toffee pudding dessert was a perfect ending! We loved the sauce it came with! Le Crocodile has definitely made a huge fan out of me and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone to spend a birthday or celebration meal here! I live in Boerum Hill and frequent this fine restaurant. The complaint made by the classless, loud party of 8 on June 25th is utter BS. That same evening, I was there celebrating with my party a very special birthday and that other large group was the noisiest, unruly bunch, so badly behaved that several patrons had to move their table away from them and others complained of the deafening loud noise they made. One man in their group of 8 sounded like a dog barking. The classless bunch walked out without leaving a tip and taunting other diners that sat nearer the door. That bunch have no idea how to behave in a fine dining restaurant. I'll be most happy that they'll never go back. Then we can eat a meal in peace.

But if you don't drink, my partner had a fruity peach and mango puree mocktail that hit the spot in the summer weather. The tuna tartare is fresh with a garnish that complements the freshness well without being too overpowering. The main dishes: duck confit and steak frites were incredibly moist and flavorful. My partner and I were impressed with the flavor in the duck confit's mushrooms! Very savory. Fries are exactly how you want fries to be. The desserts felt a little lackluster in taste--the chocolate souffle and the San Sebastian cheesecake--but I will give props to the dollops of flavor with the cheesecake and that they are made in house. The food was delicious and filling and the weird things that stood out to me was the fresh squeezed OJ and the side salad which was so nicely seasoned and the OJ was bangin! Last night we came here, and although the service was friendly and welcoming, the food was definitely uninspired. We had a frisee salad which was sad, wilted and overdressed in red wine vinegar and bacon grease. It should've been bright and vibrant. Also troubling was that the poached egg was over hard - a quintessential aspect of the dish is the runny yolk, but instead it was just like an overcooked fried egg. Did the chef not notice this? Or did he/she not care? I had the duck which was not rendered properly. The skin should've been brown and crusty throughout but was instead inconsistent with that pale yellow hue of fat. Also, the meat was not properly sliced with pieces sticking together. The vegetables on the side were an afterthought, underdone and boring. Why not serve a solid mashed potato or cauliflower? A ratatouille? The food was not cheap and it was disappointing to eat a dinner clearly not made with love or passion.
