We've been there a few times and everything we tried was delicious! The service is also good and we're happy that they have kids menu. The restaurant is cozy itself and they also have a backyard which is also nice when the weather is good. I highly recommend it. read more

We got takeout from here and the food was excellent. The seafood tagliatelle was creamy and the saffron really came through, shrimp and mussels were perfectly cooked. The goat cheese salad was a yummy mix of greens and had goat cheese covered croutons which was an interesting touch. Really great spot for simple French food, if quite expensive. The burger was also good, comes medium rare automatically which I prefer but not everyone does. read more

I am absolutely a new fan! Met my sister & family for brunch here, what a gem. Lots of regulars here (including, apparently my sister & her fam!) and a well loved team at Mexique. Cozy space, a few outdoor tables, outdoor patio for warmer weathers and they serve up some very delicious bites. French cuisine-American fare; we grabbed burgers and French toasts; with a side of mimosas for the drinkers and coffee for the non. My 15 yr old had steak & eggs - he loved it; husband, college kid & me - classic bacon cheeseburger w caramelized onions and I had sautéed mushrooms with mine; it was *muah* chef's kiss. Perfectly medium. Juicy. Steak cut fries. Like we cleaned our plates. I had a bite of my sister's thick cut French toasts... wow, super fluffy and tasty. My cappuccino complimented my burger. I can see why my sister is a regular, the staff are amazing, friendly and welcoming. The food is great. If I lived near by, I'd probably be a regular as well. lol Pricing is about standard for Park Slope, I think it's on par with the city... and worth it. I'm excited to come back for their dinner menu! (PS: someone told me they make a mean pasta!) #yelpeats #brooklyneats #letsalleat read more

Been here a few times with my Aunt & Uncle, they are regulars who have been here enough to become friends with the owners. Every time has been great, the owners work here everyday and work so hard! Such kind & hardworking people that really bring a smile to their customers faces. Most recently we came for Mother's Day brunch. It was very busy but everything came out exactly how it should. I ordered the crab cake sandwich, a daily special, very very tasty! read more

We finally tried brunch here and it was also good! Not as stand-out food as dinner is, but still quality and tasty! I did love how the breakfast potatoes were peeled and very soft on the outside, yet firm inside! Plus, $5 mimosas are always a favorite! read more

Fantastic brunch! Fun spot and wonderful service. Highly recommend. They were incredibly accommodating and went out of their way to help us celebrate a special event. read more

Went last night and had a wonderful experience. I had the saffron tagliatelle with shrimp and mussels, my companion had the mussels and fries. We shared the Mediterranean salad and the chocolate lava cake with ice cream. Everything was delicious, and the presentation was really lovely. Our waitress, Angelica, was friendly and attentive. Wine by the bottle and by the glass, and they give a very generous pour by the glass. Would like a non-alcoholic beer option but otherwise it was really perfect. read more

Updating my review since my last one they have changed their service a bit. They are open for lunch and dinner now so while I'm sad I lost my morning coffee spot, I am thrilled to have a new dinner spot! With that said, don't miss out on this hidden gem tucked in the residential 6AV in South Slope. The food is absolutely amazing and the people who runs this place are the nicest people you will encounter in the restaurant business. Don't be fooled by the name either because it's not another Mexican restaurant in the area that's filled with them. I love their seafood tagliatelle, the carbonara and the truffle ravioli which was the special for the day when I was there for dinner with my family. Their fries are nice and crispy, not overly greasy and their quiche are also very good. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a nice cozy, quiet spot for dinner. read more

If you live in South Slope/Greenwood, please check this place out! It's a cozy, welcoming cafe offering classic French fare (with a few twists, like a tangle of fresh pasta in the coq au vin) and neighborhood vibes. My kids LOVED the quiche of the day, my husband inhaled his blue cheese burger, and I found the aforementioned chicken rich and satisfying on a cold night. Support a local business and enjoy a nice night out à la Francaise! read more

The service was GENUINELY the best! They explained everything that we ask and help us through our experience there! Has a perfect ambiance to celebrate dinner parties or romantic dates ! And the food was delicious! Havent tried such an amazing quiche in so long read more

This gem of a restaurant located in South Slope is a real find if you want excellent French inspired fare and great service. Although the name is misleading the food is not at all! I've had the blue cheese burger , chicken sandwich and fries and both were very good and flavorful! I recently took my wife and we had dinner which was also very good she had the quiche Lorraine and raved how good it was. Please support this restaurant and tell your friends about it - I hope it gets more traffic and noticed ! read more

I had a glass of wine and the steak frites. Knocked my socks off. The waiter was charming and the service stellar. Only bad thing to say is it was a bit chilly, and I wished they had more dessert options. Very neighborhood vibe. I'll be back! read more

I live a few blocks from here and have been meaning to try this cute place for so long! I was finally able to try it on a Saturday with my partner for brunch. It wasn't too crowded, and we were seated towards the back. The decor is adorable and the atmosphere gave off a chic vibe. My partner ordered the French toast which she loved and i ordered a burger, which was delicious! Only complaint is that i ordered it cooked medium but it came out pretty rare. I was so hungry that i didn't say anything (I'm sure they would've been accommodating since that's not what i ordered) but nonetheless it was a great burger. Will definitely be back again! read more

Ok everything here is amazing. The food the people the vibe. I feel like I'm in a cafe in Paris. My Bellini was $5! I got the chicken wrap and my husband got the French toast. Both were fantastic. Ok. Came for brunch. Same menu as every other Park Slope restaurant. Same taste. Waiter was nice but oversold the food so much that my expectations were raised. The food do not meet them. Doesn't compete for brunch. read more

Phenomenal food. Kind and friendly staff. Perfectly elegant and understated with an emphasis on quality and flavor.

I'm almost worried to leave a positive review, because Mexique is the best secret in the neighborhood. We sat out on the patio and it was the perfect night with a perfect meal. My husband ordered the Steak Frites and said it was the best steak he's had in a very long time. I ordered the burger, which while absolutely delicious, after trying the steak frites, I did wish I could turn back time. Our daughter had the Seafood Tagliatelle and insisted I leave the 5 star review:) Can't wait to come back and order that steak frites. read more

Great neighborhood bistro. Food and service is excellent. Nice wine selection. Brunch and Dinner options are both on point.

Amazing French food! wonderful restaurant. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend. A wonderfula ddition to the neighborhood

Oooh lala. Place looks nice...from the outside. I suggest they hang up a sign that says "no vegetarians or vegans allowed" so others don't have to waste time reading the menu. You wouldn't believe what adding 1 meager lil vegetarian/vegan sandwich or breakfast dish would do for your establishment. read more

This place is a hidden gem. We've been here several times for brunch and dinner, and no exageration -- every dish is so good. From the grandparents to my 14 and 11 yr old kids, we all agree the food is consistently delicious, and the staff is just the nicest people. Definitely worth going out of your way to try. Highly recommend!!! read more

Absolutely perfect high-quality French food, in a lovely classic cafe atmosphere. The prices are very reasonable for the quality. We had coq au vin and mussels and some very good wines, including a Bordeaux from the Medoc -- something I rarely see on a wine list. I live nearby and walk past here nearly every day but did not even realize it was a French restaurant. There's no obvious sign with the name, just some hard-to-see lettering on the window. They rarely post on Instagram. I worry that no one knows what's here -- just as we didn't! I hope neighbors will support this -- it's literally a hidden gem. read more

Really delicious dinner here. We shared endive salad, one of us got the burger, the other the coq au vin. All exceptional, including the fries. And 2 good glasses of Bordeaux. Friendly and comfortable, too. Relatively small bistro menu, which is fine. You'd have to go far afield and pay more for comparable French food. read more

So lucky to have them in our neighborhood! Food is absolutely delicious and they have the best service! My son asks to go every weekend!

Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere and very friendly service. A gem in our neighborhood!

Stopped in to try out their coffees and salads. Both the Cobb and Mexique Salad were great. Very hearty, delicious, and carefully constructed. I added grilled chicken to the Mexique salad. It was seasoned well and tender. Our waitress mentioned that they are trying out pastries and provided a free blueberry muffin, which was good. She also said the chef is working on breakfast sandwich options. I'm really looking forward to stopping in on my way to work for a coffee and bacon egg and cheese on an English muffin in the future. I recommend giving this new cafe a try! read more

This place is a hidden treasure in Brooklyn. We had company from out of town and they got us a table and the server was the best!! The name of the restaurant is a little confusing because it is not Mexican food! The burgers, omelets, steaks and sides were so yummy. I told them about my dietary needs and they were extremely accommodating, my order came out perfectly. They are so friendly and have created a wonderful environment for family, conversation, food and drinks. read more

Delicious food and fantastic coffee. The caramel latte is the right amount of sweet, rich and creamy. The spinach and goat cheese quiche was probably the best I ever had, so fresh and the crust tastes like a flakey croissant. It comes with a perfect side salad. The chicken Milanese is also amazing. Expertly cooked chicken that is juicy and tender, topped with a fresh garden salad. You can tell the ingredients here are high quality and the chef is skilled. Great service too. They are attentive and friendly. I love the French music they play, it's a very pretty cafe. read more

Green-Wood Heights and Park Slope has a new little treasure of a restaurant, Mexique, on the corner of 18th Street and 6th Ave. It's boasts a menu of French food with a Mexican twist. Excellent food and very reasonable prices. The restaurant is woman owned. The staff is lovely, (Angelina and Wendy) and the interiors and the atmosphere are charming, with a lovely mix of french music playing quietly in the background. I've been there twice in the past week and will definitely be back often. Right now they're only serving breakfast and lunch until they get their wine and beer license. Give Mexique a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Dolan B. read more

Pat S. The food and service were excellent. Wendy, our hostess, was very helpful and friendly. The uniqueness of this restaurant was a great find. It is a French restaurant with Mexican cooks.
