Visited Mexico 2000 Restaurant, what an excellent place. Excellent service, nice atmosphere. I am really glad that I wound up ordering Steak Fish Tacos, it was fantastic, just a remarkable taste. The team was extremely pleasant and service is awesome. It's perfect. read more

I rarely write poor reviews but I felt inclined to do so because I never experienced a dining experience like this before, as an avid diner in NYC. My friend and I made reservations on Open Table for 2:30pm for outdoors. We were not seated until 3pm and was informed that outside was completely full and they only had inside dining available. When we explained to them that this was unacceptable the host/server walked away when we were mid-sentence. My friend came all the way from Jersey and we just wanted to catch up, so we said let's just sit indoors. After 15 min, I had to flag down the bartender to bring us water. It was a hot day and the ceiling fans were not on. It then took another 10 min to bring a menu to our table and they only had one, with the explanation that it was the last brunch menu they had at the moment and brunch was ending at 4pm. At this point, we were really appalled at the service and we decided to leave. On the way out, we saw a couple that was seated after us had their drinks already. I do not recommend this place at all. I understand restaurants are short staffed but why accept the reservation in that case. read more

Great margaritas! Food was okay! Service started out great, then I think they got overwhelmed with the amount of people coming in. I ordered a second margarita, which never arrived, which was disappointing! Waited super long for our bill, then finally we just walked to the front to pay. We could've technically just walked out! It was very disappointing! read more

Food was mediocre at best. We ordered the chicken quesadilla, the deluxe chicken tacos, chips/guac/salsa. The quesadilla was weird af. It was more like a large taco or a chalupa. Nevertheless, it lacked flavor. The tacos were okay. Chips and guac were good. Salsa was watery. read more

Service is bad, waited over an hour for food for it to come out cold. Calamari was chewy and rubbery. Waiters take a while to come and check on you. Definitely don't recommend! read more

Always my go to Mexican spot for delivery. On time and the foods never cold. The workers are always nice when I call in. I usually order a steak or lengua burrito, nachos or steak/fish tacos. read more

We were sat by the bartender & told someone would be out soon. We waited about 20 minutes & had to ask for a server. We ordered drinks appetizers & entrees. After 30 minutes we had got none of the items not even a drink but there were only 3 tables seated. Once it hit 45 minutes we got up & left. This was a waste of a $40 cab. read more

It took 15 minutes for anybody to acknowledge us after being seated. Then it took over 30 minutes for us to get her drinks. The food took close to about an hour to come. (Luckily the food was good). We asked for water when we ordered our first round of drinks our water came after we were eating even though I asked three times. Our appetizer came after our main course. They ran out of guacamole on cinco de Mayo! This establishment is well advertised on Instagram but it didn't live up to his potential read more

Mexico 2000 Restaurant - Brunch - Mexican Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I literally just ate here and I just have to say this was the worst experience I ever had. Not only were they unorganized, they barely understood English, and it took twenty minutes to get somebody's attention. When we spoke to the manager, he also didn't understand English (overall he really was no help). None of the waiters came to check on us nor did the manager after we filed a complaint to him. On top of this, the food was trash and it didn't really have a great taste to it - when we asked for the check, to my surprise they already included the tip when they didn't even deserve it nor did they work hard for it. To make things worse, there was a rat running around in the back area where everyone was eating. No staff member was coming to check on us or apologize after we all screamed. read more

My friends and I came in close to midnight a few weeks ago. When we walked in we were invited to sit down to eat, however we said we'd do take-out instead. He gave us menus. A few minutes later (yes, literally only a few minutes passed) he asked us if we were ready to order, but we were still deciding. He then told us the kitchen was closing soon and began to act very impatient. Why invite us to sit if the kitchen is closing soon? OR why not simply say so at the point when we walked in the door? That is customary, right?? When my other friend questioned him about this, he became very condescending, calling her "sweetie" and "hun." I guess he was trying to placate her by doing so. Despite his attitude, my friend who initially took the menu decided to order because she was very hungry and options nearby were limited. Maybe about 10 minutes later some "locals/regulars" came in after us, and were greeted warmly, then welcomed to order food. But when we came in only 15 minutes prior he was in a rush? Very rude. And apparently this is the owner/manager? I'd hope this wasn't racially motivated. However, myself and my friends are all African American. I also know enough spanish to understand when someone is talking crap. Try it yourself and draw your own conclusions, but i'd be remiss not to warn people. Myself and my friends will not be returning. Bad service is one thing, being offensive and rude earns you 1 star. read more

Ordered nachos from here, estimated delivery time is 30-45 minutes. 1.5 hours go by, nothing. I call restaurant and ask them what's up. After leaving me hanging for about 5 mins, they say the driver is on the way. I ask why he's an hour late and get a "durr?" In response. About 10 minutes later guy finally shows, no apology, no explanation, nothing. Food is stone cold. Thanks Mexico 2000! Avoid. read more

Only for the al pastor tacos: super dry and salty meat, and sad tortillas. People who say they're from California and like the tacos here must've eaten some sad tacos in California. As someone who just moved from California, these are some not good tacos. read more

After having lived in Texas for most of my life, moving to New York meant getting mediocre Mexican food... until that is, I discovered Mexico 2000 last year. They have opened up a restaurant just two doors over to the original spot but this place is really, really good. Their delivery is timely and everyone is super friendly. Their english over the phone, depending on who you get, isn't always the best but I just love it when this one guy picks up and says "Mexico Dos Mil"! My favorite dish to order is the Mole Enchilada... the mole is so, so good. There really isn't a dish that isn't great; I also order the tamales and tacos pretty often too. Check it out! read more

Man i can't get over the excitement i feel each and every time i come to this place. We had some spicy guac & boy was it spicy. But very appetizing & satisfying. Followed by some mussels for me & some enchiladas for her. Oh i was a little greedy & had the sope with beef tongue. I know it might sound nasty to some but you just have to take a chance. Oh shit i started this review before i ate my sope, ate it & forgot to take a pic of it to post here. Lol oh well maybe the next time. Thank u Sergio, Annabelle, Jani & the rest of the staff for your exemplary service. read more

Tonight I had the most amazing time at Mexico 2000 with all of my favorite former colleagues. This restaurant went above and beyond with every detail to ensure that our experience would be perfect in every possible regard. When we first arrived we ordered specialty drinks that were out of this world. We were also given chips and salsa that tasted fresh as could possibly be. Then we ordered and were brought out our dishes that were authentic Mexican style and absolutely delicious!! The service was exceptional and the food was fantastic. We are already talking about returning in September. I believe that this restaurant deserves your business. You will be delighted with this experience with this Williamsburg, Brooklyn dining experience. read more

Mexico 2000 Restaurant - A delicious burrito steak...mommy yumiiii - Mexican Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

How have I not reviewed this place before!? Working in a hasidic neighborhood next door leaves a lot to be desired in terms of good, cheap food, but Mexico 2000 definitely fills that void!! Their tacos are incredible, the happy hour drinks are AMAZING, and its all very reasonably priced. Go during happy hour, all their frozen drinks are $6 (and they're HUGE!). This is definitely my favorite place to treat myself after a long day of work. read more

Wow. This place is near my house and I have shopped at the adjoining market and always been pleased. I'm probably mistaken, but the new swanky restaurant is a sign of their success: these tacos used to be hauled from the back of the shop. Ordering through the the Yelp app was easy: the menu is impressive. I checked the boxes and was given a time window. Arrived to find a chill as fuck afternoon bar scene: neighborhood Mexicans and a few hipster musician types taking advantage of the killer happy hour: 3 tacos and a beer = $10. I know it's banal but I only ordered the nachos and they moved me to write. The freshest guac, a side of home made pepper sauce, for fresh nachos covered gently in cheese the best peppers, refried beans and sour cream. Happy to have found a place nearby for the next time I can't get off the couch. read more

Won't be going here again!!!! Thought since it was Cinco de Mayo it was going to be a good idea to try out this restaurant but I was very disappointed. First, there was only outdoor seating available, we ordered frozen margaritas but was given a regular small straws that I couldn't drink from due to the margaritas being too thick and frozen. They should've given us the bigger straws for frozen drinks that normally are given out. We ordered nachos and my coworker also ordered fries. It took about 25-30 to get our food. Once it finally came we noticed that the fries were cold and they looked like McDonald's fries. Once we tried them to our surprise they tasted just like McDonald's fries. Apparently they were, and that's why we waited sooo long for our food. We think that they didn't have any fries in house and someone either Door Dashed or went to McDonald's to get the fries they served us cold. After we finally was able to drink our margaritas after we waited for it to melt so we can drink it, we decided to order another set of margaritas but this time on the rocks. I ordered coconut flavored and my friend ordered spicy margarita. Once she tasted hers she was shocked on how spicy and strong it was. The coconut one didn't taste like coconut and it was very strong that i couldn't enjoy it. Not only were they overpriced but we didn't enjoy it at all. We both left them and our waitress offered us a free drink. I ordered strawberry flavored but this time it had NO alcohol and it was SUPER sweet. I was soooo disappointed and we decided to ask for the bill and left. Service was very slow, waitress wasn't attentive, food and drinks wasn't good. I will never go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone..... read more

I tried $40 of food and threw away half. The carnitas was a little fatty but at least had decent flavor. Barbacoa, steak, and lengua were all pretty mediocre. I'd be skittish about ordering seafood and fish. Tamales were really bad. Chicken dishes don't look so hot. That leaves just about nothing left on the menu to order. Will not be ordering again. read more

Loved the tacos and the service. Try the shrimp, pastor and lengua tacos. The tequila burrito is also very good. The music is not loud and you can talk. Excelentes tacos y servicio. We order here ALL the time now haha. So sad I just discovered it recently but it's really good food for a really good price. And quick delivery!! My absolute faves are the chorizo sope and lengua sope. I've also ordered the huarache but I'm a sope girl. The sope itself is a thicker corn tortilla, soft/chewy in the middle with a crunch or bite to the outside. I wanna say it's like a bagel and a pita had a corn baby? Anyway, I love the texture of it! They top it with black beans, lettuce, sour cream, and cheese and it travels to me really well in the delivery container. The chorizo is extremely flavorful and tender, chopped up and sprinkled over the other ingredients in the sope. Also, it fills me up and it's only $6?!!!! Yes please! I always end up ordering the chorizo over the lengua solely cus the chorizo flavors are so punchy but I need to sing the praises of the lengua too because it's so tender and tasty. It is cooked to perfection and then cubed up onto the sope. Also, the sopes come with salsa rojo (a sweet & smoky flavor) and salsa verde (bright & zingy) - both are yummy and balance well with one another. This latest order, I compromised and got the chorizo sope with one lengua taco so I could have both meats hahaha. Maybe I should see if they'd do lengua and chorizo on one sope TOGETHER?! That would be amazing... My boyfriend's doing a ketogenic diet right now so he wanted something low- to no-carb. This latest time, he ordered the bistec con champignones (steak and mushrooms with a side of veggies). He forgot to mention how he looked it cooked but they nailed it - medium rare perfection. Also, just like... REALLY impressive steak *especially* considering we got it delivery. It was a lil messy in the delivery container but we transferred the steak and veggies to a normal plate and then poured the mushroom sauce that it was sitting in into a small bowl so he could dip the bites of steak in it. Also, it's a REALLY decent sized steak. Next time, I'm going for the chimichanga! read more

Service was great, but the food was only ok. my tacos' meat was dry and tasteless. our nachos were mostly covered with cheese and pickled jalopenos. again, not much flavor. the salsa served with the complementary chips seemed to come from a jar. my wife's quesadilla had canned mushrooms. everything was warm and cooked through, but really missed the beat on flavor. i'm also not sure why all those that are not of Mexican decent get crammed into the few tight seats in the front of the restaurant, where those that are more culturally "aligned" are placed in the more spacious seats. unfortunately we won't return. read more

Don't bother. Probably the worst Mexican food I've ever had, prices like an airport, they forgot our food and our drinks and tried to charge us anyway. read more
