I have hired Metropolis Moving twice (in 2014 and 2018) for moves within Brooklyn and I highly recommend them. Their office staff provided a prompt, detailed quote and answered all my questions via email and/or phone. Their communication is excellent: I received a confirmation email the day before, along with a text letting me know my movers were on their way. Metropolis' moving teams are prompt, professional, efficient and friendly; the men who helped me on both occasions worked quickly while treating my belongings with care. Their prices are extremely reasonable (no surprises after my initial quote) and their service is excellent. read more

Was recommended by a friend and so happy I used them! Very organized, clean, super friendly! Uzi and Zach were so helpful when it came to the planning of my move. Jack and Darryl were my movers and were amazing! I've never used movers before and I was stressed out about my move because it was last minute and they made everything so much better. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to everyone! read more

We had a terrific experience with Metropolis for our recent move out of the city. They were super responsive via email, and their quoted price was very competitive. Matt and Chris showed up exactly on time, and were amazingly fast in getting all our belongings ready to go once our building elevators were available. Once we hit the road, they had unloaded all our boxes and furniture in no time. We were so impressed by how efficient and professional they were. We would definitely use them again! read more

Seriously, these guys were amazing! We did a multi-location move (picked up in one spot, dropped some but not all in another, only to pick up more stuff there, and drop it ALL off at our final destination) - talk about a headache! But metropolis was on top of it from start to finish. They were fast and efficient. Didn't break or damage anything. Didn't up-charge. And super friendly! Already recommended them to friends and fam. I'd use them again in a heartbeat. read more

My husband and I had a great experience moving from Sunnyside to Bushwick with Metropolis Moving. Their website is amazing - super easy to use and includes a very thorough checklist of items. Matt responded to our inquiry quickly with a very fair quote and when I revised our list of items the day before the move he lowered it even more. They were super nice, on time, and quickly moved all of our things without damaging anything. read more

I have worked with this company during several moves and I've always been Happy with their services. They've always kept me updated on the time they will be arriving and dropping my stuff off. They are definitely my go-to for when I need furniture moved in the city. read more

I hired this company for a move of some large furniture (table & chairs, mirror, etc.) to Connecticut. I was doing the organizing on behalf of my boss and it was kind of challenging because we were having the movers pick up from her sister and then drop-off to her mother-in-law at the home in CT. Olivia was extremely professional, its clear they have it down to a science and were on top of everything. They got me back the COI for the apartment in NYC quickly and the building actually didn't have any changes, a shocker in NYC! They were able to call me for payment at the end. Overall I would definitely use them again read more

After getting quotes from several different moving companies we decided to go with Metropolis Moving. Jason and Misha moved our studio to a one bedroom. They arrived early before the quoted time and finished the move early as well. Very professional and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Everything about this moving company was AH-MAZING, from the price to the customer service; via email & phone. Jason & Misha moved my massive furniture from childhood home into my first apartment & made everything look so easy. They were very friendly & EARLY.. which is always good in my book! I would recommend them if you're looking for an effortless & efficient move at a REALLY good price. read more

15/10 would recommend Metropolis Moving - I used them 3 times over the last 7 years and they always have the best quote, the best team, and are incredibly communicative. They consistently have the best pricing and do not try to swindle you into a higher quote. As you can imagine, moving in COVID is stressful but the whole team was so respectful, wore masks - even took off shoes when entering into my roommate's bathroom. They made my move completely seamless and I really appreciated their thoroughness. This is def the best moving company in NYC! read more

These guys are the bomb! They worked quickly, efficiently & are also pretty funny. They were really cool & pleasant to be around even though it was a 4 floor walk up and around 100 degrees (sorry guys). They took all the stress out of moving. I definitely recommend them. read more

This company is awesome. From start to finish, this was a great experience, and I HATE moving. Great pricing, great communication, and a very professional move. I would highly recommend them, and I will definitely use them again in the future. Olivia was my contact, and she was super friendly, polite, and responsive. Use this company if you need movers! read more

I was very impressed. The movers were very strong and highly skilled. Most importantly, they were very careful with our antique armoir and the walls and cabinets they had to navigate around to move the furniture. Not only that, they were quite articulate and clearly understood all our requirements, while being genuinely nice people. Their cost was not cheap, but reasonable for midtown Manhattan. Highly recommend. read more

We were very impressed with Metropolis Movers. We had 3 movers headed by Jimmy, who was very gracious, and polite, and very accomodating. Cliff and Joel were also very good. They made our move from N.Y to Philadelphia (a very stressful move!), a far better experience than we had expected. It is nice to know that there are respectful and gracious movers available. We would highly recommend them! read more

Absolutely awesome moving service. Moving in NYC is such an absolute nightmare and hassle, and these guys made the process so easy. For starters, I looked around at several different moving companies, and the rate that these guys quoted me was an absolute fraction of the price. Most moving companies charge an hourly rate and Metropolis basically quoted me a flat price which was totally unbeatable. They made several stops for me, collecting from different locations, which nobody else does. They were also extremely quick and efficient, making the whole process so simple. I also thought they would be just one of those sort of "2 guys and a van" type companies until they arrived and they had a huge moving truck with tons of space. They were also incredibly nice guys, and just did a great job, I'll undoubtedly be using them on my next move. I highly recommend them read more

I recently made the cross from Brooklyn into Manhattan and this was my first time hiring movers instead of bribing friends with beer and pizza. I decided to go with these guys and could not have made a better choice. The turnaround time for my quote request was fast and the quote itself was very reasonable. During the weeks leading up to the move, Matt was easy to reach and always got back to me quickly. The morning of, I requested a window of 8:00-9:00am and they showed up around 8:30am. Let me tell you, these guys are QUICK. I was on my phone ordering an Uber and next thing I know the entire apartment is cleared out. And they were just as great when unloading. Quick and efficient, even with the narrow stairwells of the new building. These guys are friendly, professional and damn good at what they do. I had a great experience and would definitely hire Metropolis again. read more

Awesome movers, I'll break it down: -Quick to respond regarding updates to inventory your moving and their time of arrival - friendly and efficient - best price I could find read more

Metropolis Moving made something that is never easy or pleasant into something that really can be! From my first conversations with Corey, a truly lovely person, to the actual move with Alan and Darryl (who really missed his calling as a comedian) this team made my move stress free and simple. Corey's insights and informed suggestions into how to approach my move from Brooklyn to a Manhattan 4 flight walk up made this an anxiety-free enjoyable experience, and the friendly and efficient crew made it a moving party! Even after giving me the original quote, Corey worked with me to fine tune my moving list and was able to lower it TWICE! By 200 dollars! I was stunned by how reasonable and fair the original quote was and then, IT GOT CHEAPER! I certainly did not expect that. I need to also note that at least one of their competitors (who call themselves the best) were aggressive in persuing my business for more than a week after I told them I had gone with another company. (11 emails, multiple texts and calls which evolved from claims they were the only trustworthy company in town to actual badmouthing of other companies and accusing them of ripping people off, unsavory employees and suprise extra charges).Obviously they were desperate and threatened by a company that does a great job and treats its customers honorably and with respect. Metropolis will be my moving company from now on..I felt like my move mattered to them, that I mattered to them and Corey helped me relax and put my faith in them to get it done. Thank you again Darryl, Alan and Corey for making this literally the best (and most fun) move of my life! read more

Highly recommend Metropolis Moving. It's refreshing to come across a moving company that is friendly, honest and reasonable in price. The communication leading up to the move was great, as well. Their staff are nice and careful will all your belongings. Paulie, Darryl, and Jimmy were my movers and they were fantastic and just good guys overall. read more

These guys made my life easy with the move. They were fast, efficient, trustworthy and nice! They moved everything out of my place in under 35mins and there were no scratches or damage done to my furniture bc they took the time to wrap everything up in blankets. I shopped around receiving multiple quotes and they offer the best pricing as well. Do yourself a favor and use them! read more

Needed to move from a 4-floor walkup in the East Village to storage in Brooklyn. Kate and Mischa were incredible. Still can't figure out how they managed to get it all lifted, carried, packed in and out from point A to point B, in good spirits all the way, in less than four hours. There's some sort of magic involved. Anyway, if you're nervous about an impending NYC move, give these guys a call and relax. read more

Metropolis was such a pleasure to work with and I would totally recommend them for anyone looking to move. Uziel was friendly, professional, but most importantly responsive. I had to plan my move on short notice and was a little nervous about everything coming together on time (i.e. I had a lot of questions), but Uziel was very reassuring and didn't seem bothered by all of my questions. The crew that moved me was Paulie, Cathal, and AJ. Most moving companies had quoted me for a 5-hour job to move from my studio apartment to my new place within Queens, but the guys had all of my stuff loaded up in less than an hour and moved into the new place about an hour after that. They were a pleasure to deal with. They were courteous, careful with my belongings, and very efficient. All in all, it was a great experience! Will definitely call them the next time I have to move read more

This was mine/my girlfriend's 2nd time using Metropolis and I couldn't recommend them enough. Chris & Jakob were right on time and helped make a move out of a 5th floor walk up into a storage facility as seamless and painless as possible. All of our furniture and belongings were wrapped and very well protected. Uziel was great at communication via email and answered all questions we had promptly and efficiently. They had the cheapest quote BY FAR and really worked their asses off to help us out. I've recommended them to several other friends and will continue to do so. read more

Great experience with everything from the quote to the actual move. Will be going to them again for future moves! The price was even one of the lowest I was quoted. Olivia was always responsive and clear. My movers, Misha and Cathal, were on time, professional and efficient. Everything arrived in the same condition afaict. read more

I highly recommend Metropolis Moving! This was my second time using them for a complicated, 3 part move and I was so impressed with the service from start to finish. Zach in the office was extremely professional and responsive to all questions. When moving day came, Chris, Darryl and Nate arrived early, were friendly, took all COVID precautions very seriously, and handled all of our belongings gently but efficiently. We could not believe how fast but well the team worked. I got quotes from numerous places and Metropolis' price was very fair, and having a no-stress move situation is worth a lot! I am so glad I went with Metropolis and will definitely use them again next time we need to move. read more

The movers were right on time, super polite/considerate and did an excellent job moving everything. They were incredibly professional and worked hard. We ended up finishing a good bit early. Company in general was very thorough yet flexible. read more

Five stars isn't even enough!! Once again Metropolis was AMAZING!!! Paulie and Nate were like lighting getting everything packed and unpacked. But even more, they were so helpful and kind. When they saw our elderly neighbor in the hall they politely made small talk (even though they were in the midst of moving up and down 4 flights) and told her to bring a light sweater if she goes out! Seriously, I will never move without Metropolis. Highly recommended. read more

I would recommend. What I liked about metropolis movers was how organized they were. I really appreciated the text the morning of notifying me of anticipated arrival time. The move itself was done timely and in an efficient manner. read more

These guys are lifesavers! Booked with them last minute after my original movers fell through. They were able to accommodate me regardless of the short notice. Communicating with Olivia was fast and easy she made everything clear. Movers showed up on time and did an amazing job. They disassembled my furniture wrapped it up and packed it up into my storage unit. Very professional I would definitely recommend their services! read more

These guys were so wonderful. On time, communicative, helpful, efficient, and nice. All of my stuff came back in perfect condition. Will use them again. read more

Amazing service. We used them to run an event for our non profit which required a move on Friday and another back on Saturday. The guys were extremely polite and professional. They did what we asked without complaint (the companies we have used for the past few years gave us a hard time about moving racks full of clothing). Very Very Pleased. We will continue to use them for our events. read more

LOOK NO FURTHER. HIRE THESE GUYS. They were professional, timely, friendly and AMAZING movers. I will only be hiring these guys for any future moves. They treated all of our stuff with care- which was especially awesome- since my boyfriend and I didn't pack as well as we could have. Nothing was broken, damaged or harmed. I have never had a move where SOMETHING didn't break- so that was pretty remarkable and impressive in my book! :) With Metropolis, moving day was completely stress free and dare I say.... FUN! :) Thanks guys!!! read more

I looked at many moving company profiles and I agree with the great reviews posted here -- Metropolis arrived exactly on time, worked totally efficiently, not a speck of damage on the furniture, painless and seamless move. Thank you, Metropolis! read more

Metropolis moved me in the rain - a few days before Christmas and just 24 hours after I'd submitted my finals for my graduate program. What I expected to be a stressful move at a crazy time of year turned out to be the best moving experience I've ever had. What I appreciated most about these guys, even beyond their speed, organization, and care with my belongings, was the fact that they were good, honest, friendly people. I knew I was in good hands! read more

Nothing but 5 star ratings for these guys, and now I know why! They are just great...skilled, fast, strong...everything you need for a hassle-free move. Thank you to Nick and Chris, they were awesome. Metropolis is fairly priced, the best I could find, and their website is amazing, its so clean and easy to use, gives them a good impression right from the start. No contest, if you are moving in NYC hire them, you won't be disappointed!!! read more

I have to add to the chorus because these guys are amazing! They really came through for us at stressful time. I called days before the end of the month and Uziel was able to fit us in on the last day. (Other companies wanted to charge huge surcharges for that) He recommended a storage facility that also worked out perfectly(Storage Fox). Uziel is a super honest stand up guy but the movers he sent were veritable superstars! Myles and Jakob worked so crazy hard I wish we had another move so we could hire then again. Highly recommended!!! read more

Quiet pleased with the entire team. The office staff were clear and concise with flat rate pricing. They promptly responded to inquiries for COI and any other questions. Our movers, Jason and Vance, were fantastic. They were prompt, courteous and got the job done ahead of schedule. read more

Excellent choice! The quote was competitive, they were able to meet our buildings' very high COI requirements, and the move went very smoothly! Customer service leading up to the move was also excellent - they responded quickly to all of my inquiries and never got annoyed when I asked more questions. I also appreciated that I could change the items being transported up until the night before, and when they adjusted the quote for the additional items, it was only by a small amount. Could not have been a better experience! read more

Metropolis Moving helped me move from Astoria to Bushwick last Friday, and they were pros. This was my first time hiring movers so I wasn't sure what to expect, but between Matt who I arranged details with over email, and Chris and Radik who did the moving, they made sure that everything went smoothly and easily. Email response times were quick, answers were thorough and helpful, they quoted me a flat rate, called 15 minutes before they got to my first apartment (on the early side of the arrival window), were very careful with my furniture but also really quick and efficient. The entire move took about two hours, which was less time than I expected. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone and I'm contacting them again the next time I have to move. A+. read more
