HOWEVER.....we sat there for at 15-20 minutes waiting for a waitress to even acknowledge us......so sad and disappointed people were everywhere but not one came to greet us. read more

THE absolute best breakfast place in the Boro! The food is amazing, and the portions are crazy huge. You won't be walking out hungry that's for sure. I highly recommend this place. I called on a Sunday morning for a carry out order, was put on hold. Nobody picked back up so I hung up and called again and they were going to put me on hold again, which I didn't want. There was controversy over who could take my order since " the person who handles to-go orders is busy". The girl I was speaking to said "I'll just take your order". I Waited and food was ready when they said it would be: 20 minutes. When I went in to get the order, there was confusion because evidently the person who took my order had to be the one to ring me up for some reason. I paid in cash which they seemed surprised at for some reason. It turns out they don't have a cash register and the person ringing you up has to make change out of their own funds, which the girl didn't have enough to make change. Only $1 short so NBD, but strange. Company policy I was told. In their defense, it was busy on a Sunday morning. But it seems they have some odd policies that ultimately make it more difficult to just get some carry out. Upon sitting down to have my breakfast: the biscuits were small and dense, as if they didn't rise properly before they were baked. Not terrible but nowhere near what I've gotten from them before. The sausage gravy was good, but also not up to what I've gotten there before, and a little bland (not enough salt) scrambled eggs were good if a little over cooked, and hash browns were ok but very bland and seemed like they had almost no salt. I'm glad to see a local restaurant so busy and obviously popular and I'll give them another shot at another time, but this visit was disappointing in several ways. read more

Had dinner there last night - arrived before 5pm - great time to arrive. We ordered biscuits with gravy - awesome; Monte Cristo - awesome; Cheesy Tots - hot, gooey with cheese - definitely an appetizer to try; Western Omelet - awesome. Lots of food to eat - large portion sizes - will take home some extra food since you could not eat all of it. Smells great when you enter and reminds you of the diner you use to go to when you were younger. This restaurant is one you need to try. read more

Ordered food for take out, when the girl answered the phone she apparently couldn't take the order for some reason so waited 5 min for her to hand off the phone while listening to her conversations with everyone else. I a seafood platter and a bbq Mac waffle stack. The waffle thing came out okay, but the platter states it comes with slaw and sauce. Only got the fish, shrimp and the slaw with crappy service and people who didn't care about serving with a smile. Make sure you have an appetite. Portions are big. Me and the nurse's went for lunch on our lunch break. I ordered the Pot Roast...which was AMAZING. One of the other nurses ordered a waffle with fruit topping. The waffle was soooo good and has a hint of cinnamon in it. Another nurse ordered fish and chips. We're visiting from Las Vegas, and found this place on yelp. So glad that we found this joint! I ordered the chicken and waffles. They made a maple syrup / hot sauce combination to drizzle on. It was phenomenal and revolutionary. My mom ordered the cinnamon bun pancake. She's in love. Her only wish is that they served pancakes like that in Vegas. The cinnamon and sugar in the pancake made a sugary brûlée thing happen that was to die for. The staff was very kind, and all the food came out in a jiffy. read more

First time here. Had the shrimp & grits. A very different style from what I've had before - grit cakes with a fantastic creamy sauce. The menu called them Charleston Shrimp & Grits. Could have used a little more spice perhaps but I would order this again. Went at noon and the place was packed. The server was attentive, especially considering the size of the lunch crowd today. My wife had grilled chicken. She had her choice of sides. The chicken looked good. The only negative is the loudness. Could barely carry on a conversation at the table. read more

I went to the new Metro Diner in Murfreesboro, TN today. Sat down at the bar at 7:05 am. Ordered a sweet tea and traditional eggs benedict (didn't even look at the menu). I sat there until 7:35 am and then gave up. There were only two customers in the store. 3 servers, 3 cooks, and one manager could not prepare my food in less than 30 minutes with only two customers. read more

I hate seeing all of these bad reviews since this is a new restaurant. We had a party of 12 for breakfast last Saturday and, aside from the wait time, everything was great. First time visitors tonight. My fiancée had the Bold City Burger, and I had the Pulled Pork Mac Stack. The service was attentive, without being overbearing. The food was hot, and tasted great! My wife and I have been a few times now. The quality and quantity of food is very good. I did go by myself a couple weeks ago and sat at counter and left after I sat there for about 10 minutes with no service but the other visits with my wife we had good service. There is one issue I have with the food, it is not hot. We have ordered fries and a big pancake 2 times and both times they were room temperature. They do have one of the best Cheeseburgers in town but a cheeseburger would be so much better paired with hot fries. Overall we like it and hope they can work on the issues I have listed. I had to change my star rating from 3 to 2 this evening. My wife and I sat in booth for about 10 minutes again with no service. I will not be going back any time soon and I will not be recommending Metro Diner any longer either. Very sad that corporate does not train these people the right way because this place could be off the charts good. read more

The greeter at the door was nice. The floor was a little slippery. My husband and I sat down and waited on the waiter or waitress for I know atleast 5-10 minutes so I told the greeter that no one has came to the table yet. So someone finally came and took our drink order then she said the waitress was coming. So we're patiently waiting on our waitress...she finally came and I immediately gave her my order and she stopped me in the midst of me talking. I finally completed my order and then my husband ordered. We waited 20 minutes before our food came out. In between that time the waitress didn't come to check on us. We got our food..my husband and I eggs were cold, the hash browns were burned and they forgot a piece of his chicken. So they remade the hashbrowns and they were raw. So I couldn't win for losing. They told my husband atleast 4 times they was bringing the breast out to complete his chicken and waffle meal and we ended up getting it boxed to go. So this was a horrible experience for our first time going. We will not be going back. read more
