Worth the wait. Sunday afternoon going to a fairly new and hopping restaurant could be a menu for disaster. We were pleasantly surprise. 35 minute wait for a party of 4 on a Sunday handling the church crowd is very acceptable. I had the Metro 1/2 # burger with onion rings. One of the best burgers I've had as they ask how you want it cooked. Came out perfectly medium. Onion rings were a little greasy, not the Same as Sonic's, but good. Wife had the Hot turkey dinner plate. Real thick slices of breast meat, real mashed potatoes with gravy, zucchini, yellow squash and onions, cranberry sauce and baguette. I got to try some of this, awesome. Only thing missing was cornbread dressing. I'll be back to check out some more menus favorites and I'm picky. read more

My 3rd time eating at Metro Diner. I brought my out of town family to eat. The waitress was nice. She did not know answers to questions I asked her about food on the menu. A regular cup of coffee (with no flavor) cost $3.29. That's ridiculous! Wasn't happy at all with the food. We all ordered chicken. Chicken was hard. Either overcooked or old. My daughter's mashed potatoes were cold. I bragged about this place just to be terribly disappointed because the first 2 times I ate here, the food and the service was really good. I guess today was a miss day! The cook had hair plats hanging with no net and no gloves on hands. The employees were very unprofessional. They were all talking to each other and talking very loud to each other across the restaurant, as if no customers were there. It was embarrassing for me to brag about the food, pay almost $70 for 3 plates of chicken and my daughter ended up leaving half her plate of food there because she did not enjoy it. She could not eat it. My other daughter and I packed up our leftovers. When we got home, I steamed our leftover chicken in a skillet with water, made gravy and tolerated it for what we paid for it. Do Better Metro Diner! Be more professional and do not serve your customers hard-crusted chicken left-over chicken, obviously cooked the day before! Bad business!! read more

what a surprise we stopped by on Saturday - Jalen was our waiter great customer service and a good smile. He walked us through the menus and let me tell you it is extensive and very good........My husband had the grit cakes with shrimp and i had the fish and chips...........from the atmosphere the service .........this place is amazing .....I love when I don't have to leave the Boro for good food...........this is a good spot ...so lets do our jobs and eat there .........we need more places like this read more

Ok to start I'm not saying I will not eat here again but I will say I expect more the next time around. The food was great tasting even though I had to send my chicken back 2 times because it was undercooked. The first time it was sent back the cook took offense to it being sent back before he even saw the extremely pink chicken. But afterwards the chicken and waffles were great. The service was ok at best and my waitress just seemed as if she had better things to do than to wait on me. I gave this a 3 star for the taste of my food but if not for that this would be a 1 star. We got seat quickly, but we had quit a long wait on our food. The dining room was cold. When our food finally arrived one of our fish dinners was missing we had to wait in it to be prepared. This was our first time going to the diner and it was super busy, so we were excited to see what all the excitement was about. The service was sub-par. We had to ask for menus, went to order but their ipad died, and I asked for the coffee of the day and the server said, "look on the board, I got here at 6:30AM and only put one eye contact in." My husband got the chicken and waffles, which were great. I, however, got an omelet and half way through found a hair cooked into the omelet and hashbrowns. The server did not apologize, and it took the manager 10 minutes to come over to fix the situation. There will not be a next time for us! read more

I will start by saying I really like this place but the service I had today made me not want to ever come again. I ordered the pot roast, when it came out it was full of fat and the meat was hard to cut so I sent it back and just ordered soup and a grilled cheese. By this time my husband was finished with his food and just waiting on me to get mine. I waited 20 minutes for my soup and grilled cheese when it came out to me it was cold! Needless to say I was not very happy. I just ask for a to go box and left my husband to pay. I also want to add I believe it was a manager that bought my soup and sandwich out to me but instead of asking what was wrong with the pot roast he gave me my food and stated he was surprised I didn't like it, it's one of their more popular dishes. Note that I was also mad because I saw my soup and sandwich sitting on the counter for several minutes (at least 10 when I noticed it) before anyone picked it up to bring to me. Both waitress and manager had to sense my frustration even though I didn't verbalize, I clearly was not happy. WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE!! I took some friends from out of town to give this diner a 2nd chance. What a mistake that was. The waitress Shelbee drop all the cups of water on top of my friend. The worst thing was that she did not even apologize for dropping the cups on her just said " I've been a waitress for 10 years and have learned that when things fall just to let it fall not even to try to catch it." Someone else was also helping her clean up the mess that she did and instead of apologizing they were just giggling and no one not even the manager no one came out to apologize to my friend for getting soaked with this water. The waitress look like she was not fit to be working. Things got worse after that when the food came out we did not have any utensils we had to wait to get some. My friend ordered a sandwich that had nothing no mayonnaise no mustard nothing dry sandwich it was horrible. Metro Diner is consistently excellent. If you're a breakfast fan / snob, you'll be very pleased. Their hash browns are legitimate, house made, REAL hash browns- infinitely better than IHOP or Waffle House. Bacon is always hot and fresh. Eggs are always hot and fresh. Buttermilk pancakes are Good / not great - it's the batter - there's better out there. Coffee is good / not great. Service is consistently good for a place that is usually crowded.
