We were so glad that a Metro Diner opened in our community.. We've been to another location in St Petersburg and fell in love with everything metro has to offer.. The chicken and waffles were the best I've ever had.. Mom loved the Ruben .. I dined here this morning with three other ladies. The food was amazing! I had a Belgium waffle with turkey sausage (Yes! Girlllllll they have turkey sausage ). Valerie was our server and she was amazing! I asked that my waffle be made a little crispy but not burned and it was perfect. One of the ladies with me ordered a BLT and it looked like it came out of a magazine. Everybody's food was perfect! The manager came to the table multiple times to make sure everything was good. Was passing by for business in Melbourne and came across the Metro Diner. I first went to this restaurant in the Richmond Virginia area. I have to say that I was VERY surprised to see that they set up shop in Melbourne. Brevard has seriously gone up-town with this franchise operation. Saw this place while actually on the way to get ice cream 2 doors down, but decided to eat dinner here instead because the signs on the outside looked interesting. I got the chicken & waffles and my husband got the biscuits and gravy. Best chicken and waffles I've ever had, the chicken was crunchy and juicy and came with a side of "sweet and spicy" sauce that tasted like a spicy syrup. The waffles came with a strawberry butter that was amazing. The biscuits and gravy were also delicious, and the food came out in less than 10 minutes. This place is great. This is probably my favorite dinners thus far, everyone is so welcoming and the food is outstanding. My boyfriend and I shared a evening there this past Sunday. The dish that knocked me off my feet was the pulled pork and mac, if that Doesn't sound good enough they add a soft Belgium waffle on the side topped with cinnamon butter, so delicious. We had to thank the owner Ashley, she personally came over to our table and was so polite and appreciative. Also the host for the evening was Willie super attentive and his socialism was remarkable. Walked into a packed diner and we were seated in minutes. Janna was an awesome server and kept the drinks coming. The chicken and waffles with strawberry butter were delish. The cornbread waffles with maple butter were divine. The meatloaf was moist and tasty, next time we would skip the brown gravy. We were too full to try dessert, but we will be back. The food was great but the service will keep us coming back. Updated 1/19/19 - We have eaten here multiple time and each time has been just as great as the first. This morning we wanted breakfast before heading to the airport in Orlando. Mike took great care of us, and literally had food on our table in under 10 minutes. It's good diner food. I've been a few times and it is consistent. Don't expect fancy sauces - just fresh made eggs, potatoes, sandwiches etc. I had the white meat chicken salad and was pleased. I have been to this Diner a number of times. I've had good food and prompt service on all occasions but one. We went as a family of four, two kiddos under 5 years old. For whatever reason, the kitchen was backed up and food was not coming out for anyone. Our waiter did a good job of getting the kids food first and ours came shortly thereafter. That's the worst thing I can say, they get busy at times but usually get food moving quickly. Breakfast food is good, burgers are great. And we've had a couple of appetizers too. I went 12/31 for a take out order and as always the food was amazing, what ruined the experience for me was when waitress Casey got really fresh with the hostess. The hostess was explaining why someone was seated where they were and Casey informed her that if they're busy they just tell the patrons to seat themselves! Went today with my teenage kids. First we weren't greeted at all when we walked in and it wasn't busy at all (around 8:30am). We sat ourselves. Waitress came by about 5 minutes later and put placemats and utensils down then walked away for another 5 minutes before taking our beverage order. Waitress was very nice. fruity waffle was good, chicken and waffle was very good. Biscuits and gravy meal was very big and not appealing to look at but my kids liked it. Hash browns were bland and under-cooked. Iced coffee was AWFUL. Tasted like old coffee grinds and it had just been brewed hot. Maybe they don't get a lot of people who order iced coffee? Out of Towner looking for a great late breakfast early lunch spot found this gem. Breakfast was varied, sweet driven specials with a cinnamon nut coffee that hit the spot. The pancakes were the downside of the experience but everything else exceeded expectations. The wait was manageable as it seems to be a popular place, the staff moved as a well oiled machine to get everyone through. An open kitchen added to the atmosphere.
