Huevos Rancheros
Dan B.

On a Sunday morning at 7:30am, I was surprised at how little of a gathering there was here. Maybe people had decided to sleep in, maybe people have cut back due to increasing costs (of everything), or maybe the food and service? (horrors!).... Anyhow we were greeted by a pleasant employee and promptly seated. Our waitress came and took our drink orders which came out quickly. My coffee was hot and mellow. It was ok. I ordered the breakfast Huevos Rancheros. This consists of choice of egg (I selected over easy) served over fried sun-dried tomato tortilla shells, bacon, sausage, black beans, onions, jalapeños, tomatoes, roasted corn, and green peppers. All of this topped with cheese sour cream, salsa, fried jalapenos, and green onions ($12.99). When asked, they stated they no longer carried sourdough bread. Our orders took a little longer than usual due to there only being one person in the kitchen (according to our waitress). When we received our orders, I had to ask for extra salsa. The service was very good and the salsa was brought immediately. I enjoyed my meal although I was a little disappointed in the fried sun-dried tomato tortilla shells. They were not crispy, and in fact somewhat tough. The overall taste was good however. That being said, I will probably try something different next time. There are booths as well as table seating. Interesting pictures align the walls. We were wished a good day upon leaving by a couple of employees. Service and hospitality, 5 stars Food Quality, 3 stars Worthy of checking out for yourself, 4 Stars

This review is for a to-go order. The menu is pretty much go ole American classics. I grabbed the grilled meatloaf with mashed potatoes, green beans, and a side of mac and cheese. Everything was Meh. The meatloaf was okay. Very heavy on the bread crumbs and herbs. Macaroni and cheese tastes like it was close to a Stouffer's frozen dinner. The potatoes were a little too over whipped. The green beans, on the other hand ,were my favorite. Steamed still crispy with some butter on top. They had a great snap to them.

Cheese Fries. French fries topped with bacon, shredded cheese, fried jalapeños and ranch on the side

Our waitress was very friendly; however, the food was mediocre at best. Wait time was too long with the few customers in the building.

There was plenty to take home and have a second meal, and she said it was all delicious. I ordered the soup (clam chowder) and house Caesar. The soup was nice and hot and tasted great. The salad was good, though a tad heavy on the dressing. A general note about Miller's and its kids' menu: I have eaten at a few of these places around the state, and I find their policy about adults eating off the kids' menu to be weird. Some servers are fine with it and some claim management won't let them allow you to order of the other menu. Most items on the kids' menu cost about $8. The (adult) meatloaf is $8.50. The fish and chips are $7.99. So, what is the big deal about an adult ordering off the kids' menu if the costs are the same? Some of us don't want a 1/2 pound burger. The kids' menu has a 1/4 lb. burger. Also, we sometime dine with our disabled nephews, and they usually prefer "kid friendly" dishes. I wish Miller's would review this policy.

Since we were catching up with family we chatted away about 45 minutes and we realized "where is our food". Somewhere things went off the rails. To say we were surprised is an understatement. Finally the manager comes over and says the food should be out in a minute. An hour after ordering our food arrived. The food was average at best. Not what we experienced before. Two of the six ordered the daily special (ribs), two carbonara, ravioli and a salad. Not complicated. Manager was apologetic and comp'd the table. Server was upset since every table In her section had issues. We took care of Taylor knowing it wasn't her fault. Am I off Miller's. No. But if they repeat this nightmare I will have to really think twice about coming OTB. Also they got rid of the Field Goal Trio of wings, zingers and shrimp. So sad.

Server explained the scratch kitchen concept and a little about their history and offered his suggestions. I enjoyed the Coco Grouper Sandwich which is coconut encrusted grouper with their homemade key line tartar sauce, arugula, house slaw, red onion on a fresh ciabatta roll. My husband ordered the Hot Honey Fried Chicken Sandwich with cheddar cheese, red onion, cowboy candy and hot honey. Both came with Boardwalk fries that were fresh and hot and crisped to perfection. They gave us a side of the garlic aolie sauce to try and it was good if you like that kind of dipping sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite and would not change a thing for our order. The sandwiches were amazing and we highly recommend. Not sure what it took us so long to check this place out after moving to Viera last summer but we will definitely be back. Then I saw the Chef special board and was like what is going on in here? The intrigue of the Miami wings and the tile fish taco special was too much for this foodie to pass up. I got a table within a minute or two and sat down on the beautiful dock side on a gorgeous day. We enjoyed all kinds of aerial acrobatics, two baby dolphins cruising around, but the real star was the food. I had a mahi-mahi Caribbean bowl that was simply outrageously flavored, it was definitely on the sweeter side, but I have no complaints. The Miami wings were a knockout, even though they were an entrée we had them as an appetizer. It was the perfect amount for two to share. I can only say that everything else on the menu at our table had fresh fish and was awesome. I definitely recommend this place for the vibe, which is sort of upscale beachy, and the best coastal dining menu without the prices of high rent locations in the city limits. This was a quieter location, on the water, great service, and I will admit that I kind of fell in love. Can't wait to go back to this foodie heaven! Keep changing it up chef!
