I ordered the fish and chips too much Going on the fish had like a lemon pepper batter That was salty, the fries had some smoked Seasoning salt on it, The slaw was good. Very pleasantly surprised myself. Chicken pot pie was great size portion and reasonably priced. Check the board on the wall for specials, soup and vegetables of the day. Delicious. Waitress was very friendly and great server. It was kinda funny when I realized everyone here was from a smaller town--very nice. Before ordering, the other customers wanted to speak with you for a minute and say hello while welcoming you to the diner. Metro Diner was my go to Sunday morning breakfast spot while I was stationed at Fort Benning. The service is outstanding and, I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal at this place. I would definitely recommend the biscuits and gravy. It never gets old. They also serve mimosas which always were great after a night out. One thing that I could complain about is that they do get pretty packed so it would be wise to call ahead for a reservation or you will be waiting for a while. read more

The food and the service is excellent here. We went to Metro Diner after my husband's graduation for brunch. It was full. We had to wait for about 15 minutes to be seated. After we ordered our food we had to wait for about half an hour. We understood that it was very busy that day and were having coffee while waiting for the food. We had western omelette, fruity waffle, avocado toast and ranchero. The food was absolutely amazing. We're asked every now and then if we needed anything. Appreciate the service. When we were about to pay and leave we were given a check of 0.00$ just because we had to wait for 30 minutes for the food. That was unexpected and extremely generous. We left by leaving good tips at the end. I would definitely go there again if I visit this place and would recommend this place to everyone who reads this review. Have a good one! read more

This place has incredible food. I have literally never had anything bad here. I have taken people that were visiting Columbus there. No one has been disappointed. The crab cake Benedict is delicious. The Monte Cristo is out of this world. I have had more and everything has been soooo good! The staff was so so. Not rude but not overly friendly. It is entirely possible that is the way they come across because they are really busy every time I have been there. They have never been rude. I was very disappointed with the food and service after seeing the food pics on this website. The service was very slow and my food was undercooked. The waitress wasn't too knowledgeable either when I asked her about an item on the menu. The food was very bland with no taste. Let's just say the food looks better than it tastes. My food arrived undercooked and the waitress seemed clueless about what needed to be done next. There was also a manager onsite who never came to my table to find out what happened. The food was bland, tasteless and eventually got cold. I wouldn't dine here again unless they got a new cook. I was pleased with being seated quickly as it was Sunday and everyone has brunch on the brain. The hostesses were really nice. We ordered coffee which once delivered had hair in it. I know these things happen. Our server took one off the check. Our food arrived but only to be disappointed in my hash browns being burned. I didn't bother to bring it to our servers attention as I was over the restaurant by then. I think by them being busy the service and quality of food is falling by the wayside. I have had brunch here a few times and the last two experiences were not great. I will seek a different brunch restaurant. read more

The service has really declined in the last couple of months. I blame management for not staying on top of things. This use to be my go to place for breakfast in Columbus but no more. If you want quality service try somewhere else. I went in for some breakfast today and was promptly seated by the hostess. The problem came afterwards, waited and waited, multiple waitresses conversing amongst themselves and could not be troubled to take a drink order or food order. I finally had enough when the customers seated minutes after me were able to place drink orders. Totally passed over by the waitress, I guess getting a tip from a two patrons table is more important than keeping a loyal customer. Lucky for me there are tons of restaurants a short walking distance from this location and I was able to be seated, served a cold drink, and place a food order all in under five minutes. Quality customer service is important especially in the restaurant industry some get it and some do not. Hope this review helps someone make a better decision than the one I unfortunately made today. read more

We decided to eat brunch here for our 20th high school reunion. We had prompt seating and the staff was courteous and the service was fast. I ordered the Crabcake Benedict with hashbrowns and a cranberry mimosa. The hollandaise sauce was broken...so I was already suspicious about the dish. Once I sliced into the egg...my expectations of subpar poached eggs were definitely met. Now the crabcake was actually well seasoned and tasted great. The place was not packed but took 15 min to get something to drink. It's 1030am and they are already out of champagne for the so called allday mimosas. Ordered the shrimp and grits and they are out of peppers. Who ever is in charge of ordering their supplies either needs some help or to be fired because you should not be out of things at 1030 in the morning. Finally got our food. The shrimp and grits had no flavor and we had to wait another 5 min to get a spoon to eat them with. The service was crazy slow. Once we got our food she never came back to check on us. Know this chain from Jacksonville it has expanded due to fame on 3D. Had Spinach salad. Dressing very good homemade Balsamic vinegarette was good. Spinach was tough should of used baby spinach or at least trimmed stems. Chicken ok a bit tough. No Pecans. Strawberry's and blueberry in season and good. Feta not much. Overall ok. Stuff happens, right? Saturday morning we entered the diner and were immediately seated. The server dropped off the menus and left. A few minutes later brought our drinks. After about fifteen minutes and me staring at her across the room, she came back and took our orders. This after another server gave me some more coffee. Another twenty minutes or so later with no contact, we left. All her fault? Maybe not. Should I have asked to see a manager? This was my first time eating at Metro Diner. I chose to get on the waitlist as it is an option on the website. When we arrived, the hostess stated that the wait time on the site is always inaccurate. The wait was actually 30-35 mins instead of 10 minutes. It wasn't a problem, and we waited. The server was very nice, and she gave suggestions on the menu. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles. It was pretty good. The only issue is that the the chicken tasted like it was fried in old grease. My friend ordered Home Fries, and she had the same issue as well. The waffle was very good. I'd give it another try, but I suggest they change the cooking oil. read more

Huevos Rancheros was extremely delicious, and their coffee is the best in town. The wife got a breakfast meal of eggs, grits, sausage, and bacon which she thoroughly enjoyed. We did not walk away hungry. Ken Tighe has done a good job managing the restaurant after coming to Metro Diner from another restaurant in town. We've had some times at Metro Diner where things didn't go too well. This past Saturday, they got everything right. Looking forward to going back and trying something new. read more

From the regular menu to the weekly specials everything is always on point. whether it's Chicken & waffles to die for or the Yo Hala that will make you holla, this place will have you coming back for more. Sit at the bar and watch how the kitchen handles food and you will never eat here again, gloves not changed. Hands all over food, scratching heads, butts , crotches, then hands on chicken, meatloaf, fries. Food was oily, cold and order wrong. Filth in kitchen =disgusting . Watched a guy put out the garbage and handle bacon without changing gloves. Really? Floor manager two feet away. First and last time we will eat st this one , Went back with some friends that wanted to try it - kitchen food handling the same as before.
