One of my favorite place and authentic cuisine! Presentation and service are on point!

I had such a hard time with the menu because I wanted to eat everything. Seemed intentionally meshed with Puerto Rican/traditional American cuisine- really extensive menu! I loved it here- a lot of food options and great drink options! Beautiful ambiance, loved the decor and different seating arrangements. For sure such a cute and unique spot. Server was really kind! Our food did take a while to come out though so I'd just be mindful if you're in a rush. I got the tortilla española breakfast which was super delish with chorizo, and I also got a side of the pulled top sirloin which was good! But this small side was pretty pricey ($9) and a bit dry. We visited Bodega 1205 twice for breakfast recently and enjoyed the Latin vibe and upbeat atmosphere. Great location close to Broad Street and the Chattahoochee River. The coffee was delicious but the breakfast choices are just OK. The standard side for eggs and toast with an omelette is potato chips, which turned me off. The service was good but the kitchen was very slow both visits. It took 40 minutes to place, the receive our food on an average Sunday morning. read more

Fabulous fun place!! This restaurant has an excellent blend of Caribbean and South American cuisine. I started off with the empanadas. Absolutely delightful little fried cakes of wonderfully seasoned meat. The service is friendly and attentive. The Resturant is an a restored downtown building near the river. We visited for the first time on a Saturday around 1:10pm. Despite there not being a lot of guests in the restaurant, it still took us forever to receive our food. As you can see from the photo, I only had eggs and ham. Honestly, there wasn't a ton to choose from on the menu but I gave it a try anyway. I don't recommend this as a top spot for brunch. Today, one of three days a week Bodega 1205 claims to be open, I placed an online order for a sandwich. The order went through just fine. When I went to pick it up the restaurant was closed. They charged me and weren't even there. They didn't turn off ordering for today and decided the best practice was to not answer their phone when I called, as well. Went here for our anniversary brunch upon entry. It was clean inviting, and our waitress was very nice. She was also accommodating to my husband's dietary preferences. We ordered a coffee, lemonade, and some waters . I ended up with the fountain lemonade would like to see some fresh lemonade made if they're making other fresh juices. The coffee was perfect drinking temperature not too hot not too cold and a perfect balance of the sweet with the cream with the coffee little expensive for the portion of the coffee. the empanada sampler appetizer was OK. The beef empanada had good flavor in the beef. The pizza one tasted like a hot pocket. Nothing exciting did not taste. However, the chicken empanada was disastrous. It was so dry. You could barely managed to get through it. The desert empanada really could've been helped with some maybe some chopped apple and cinnamon sugar dusted on empanada after cooking. All the empanadas were a little undercooked. The dough was extremely chewy not that crispy crunch that you always hope in love for on an empanada. The ropa veja my husband had was very good very flavorful and decent portion size. They gave him a different side versus the salad to accommodate his preferences, which was very nice of them the chips, however barely had seasoning would like to have a little more seasoning on the chips themselves can appreciate that there are plantain versus regular potato chips. The eggs Benedict was less than to be desired. There was hardly any hollandaise sauce if any I really didn't taste any the ham was really thin. It would like to add a thicker piece of ham. The arepas were good can definitely tell they took time with them. They are just a little dense for this dish. They definitely needed more sauce in a thicker hunk of ham to go with it. Also back to the Staff our waitress was again very nice very professional very kind. However, there was another waitress in there that was wearing headphones while taking care of customers which I find a very unprofessional. Also, the menu is outdated due to the fact that item I wanted to order had a picture of it, but was told it served at another location which we looked online and we cannot find another location so if you're gonna have pictures of items on the menu you should be serving them. read more

We came in after a bike ride along the Chattahoochee Riverwalk. This was a well earned meal! The staff was friendly. The restaurant and bathroom were clean. It has an eclectic feel to the place. We started with the arepas & beef empanadas. They weren't as warm as I would've liked & were kind of dry. Maybe some honey butter would've been better with them. The beef empanadas on the other hand were piping hot! They were good, not as flavorful as other places I've been in Atlanta, S. FL, or the Caribbean, but still good. I ordered the pernil, which was flavorful, but could've used a tad more salt. The red beans were seasoned to perfection! I could've eaten a plate of that and the rice! The sweet plantains were cooked to perfection and the salad was fresh. My husband ordered the fried pork chunks and said they were good, just needed a little more salt. The prices are reasonable. Such a quaint little place! I sat outside and it was the perfect day for it. Can't speak of the inside seating or decor. I had the chorizo fries (no peppers/onions) and they were really tasty and fresh! I do think these could be improved by using the bodega fries (chips) instead of the steak fries they're served with but overall still really good! I ate so much for lunch that I'm still full. It's that good. Start with the arepas that are a Columbian treat. They are warm dough pastries that are stuffed with cheese. The ham croquettes are a must have as well. There are actually hard to make and rare. A Cuban delicacy dipped in spicy mayo. The Ropa Vieja with Mofongo on the side is a Cuban Puerto Rican delight. Soft shredded beef with a savory celery tomato sauce. Spoon the Ropa Vieja out and add it to the mashed plantains mofongo for a wombo combo for your taste buds! I like to add a bit of salt and perfecto! The service and rustic atmosphere are wonderful. Will be back over and over! read more

It's such a cute little spot nice for a weekend brunch or a simple for lunch. Bodega 1205 serves Latin-American breakfast and lunch dishes in Columbus close to the river. My wife and I visited the city for a wedding recently and chose Bodega for a quick lunch. We were seated immediately and our food came out fairly quickly. We shared the Bodega Benedict with chorizo as well as the Cuban sandwich. For the Benedict, the arepa had a great crispy texture and mild corn flavor. Zesty chorizo predominantly seasoned the dish and runny poached eggs added to the indulgence, but the dish could have used some salsa or acid to perk up the flavors. The sweet plantains served alongside complemented the food well. The Cuban sandwich brought a large pile of juicy pulled pork, thick ham, and melted cheese atop a soft, crispy, and perfectly pressed roll. The quality of the ingredients for the sandwich was uniformly excellent, though I wish the cooks added more mustard and pickles to cut the richness. The dishes ran about $15 each, which felt slightly expensive given the portions. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our brunch here and don't think anywhere else serves this kind of fare in Columbus. Bodega thus earns 4 solid stars. read more

So I went back home to visit for the weekend and tried out this place as I was told it was good. I can't complain it was definitely delicious. The vibe was great, the ambiance was friendly. The choice of music was different than what I would've expected going into a place of Hispanic cuisine called Bodega. However I've live in Columbus majority of my life and this place is a great idea and in an even better location. Located in uptown this place is a must if you enjoy latin cuisine ( or great food in general). When you come in a hostess seats you. There are a couple table outdoors and indoors. Can get busy. First time we went we enjoyed lunch and the last time we went we had breakfast. This a breakfast /brunch/ lunch spot. Whole menu is available. Everything we ever ordered from here was delicious. During the holiday season this year they even had pasteles that you can order to eat while you dine in or to take with you frozen (delicious btw) . Staff is always very welcoming and friendly. The food at bodega 1205 was not tasty as expected, and the meat was dry, ground beef tasted like cinnamon , what on earth.... yellow rice tasted like gas ... we were so disappointed also because prices are over the standard ... My friend and I stopped in Columbus on a recent road trip to Panama City Beach from Atlanta. We've stopped in Columbus a few times and enjoyed checking out some of the great little restaurants in the downtown area. This day, we decided to try Bodega 1205. I'm from Tampa Florida, arguably the birthplace of the Cuban Sandwich (some will argue Miami is the birthplace and they're wrong lol). In Tampa, there are some great Cuban sandwiches as well as excellent Cuban restaurants. I'm always up for trying Cuban outside of Tampa Bay, however. I haven't had an authentic Cuban sandwich outside of Tampa, but I like exploring and trying. I ordered Bodega 1205's Cuban, and although it was really delicious, I wouldn't say it was very authentic... mostly because the bread is wrong. But it's still a tasty sandwich. My friend ordered the Pernil plate, and I tasted it and the Mofongo, and both were delicious. read more

This restaurant is special-- the comfy ambiance elevates your bodega experience to one like never before... their signature bodega chips + bodega sauce were enough to have me come solo 2 mornings in a row. The cafe con leche was not only aesthetically pleasing but absolutely delicious. I love a good detail:) The food was cooked to perfection and overly generous proportions-- needless to say my husband enjoyed my left overs. I left each day with a fresh juice-- ask your server which they have.. I chose watermelon both days. Service was amazing and the owner greets his guests-- which says a lot about the establishment in and of itself.
