This is one of the prettiest restaurants I've been to. I came here with my friend Paige for dinner. There were a lot of menu options and a lot of things I usually don't see at Mexican restaurants like casseroles and pastas. I ended up ordering the tostones with carnitas meat which were fried plantains topped with cheese, guacamole, pico, chimichurri sauce, and carnitas. It was okay. I'm not sure I liked the texture of the plantains so I would order something else next time I came here. Service was good, but the ambiance is what I enjoyed most!

I love this place! It's a Mexican restaurant, but some dishes have a bit of a Caribbean twist -- like the tostones with churrasco, which are absolutely delicious. I enjoy visiting because I always try something new, and many of the dishes have really impressed me. But the tostones? They're a must for me every time. I really like their guacamole and the chips with salsas -- so good! Their elotes are also amazing, full of flavor. As for the food, I've tried the chicken bowls, tacos, and quesadillas, and everything has been delicious. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Dont forget to try their flavors margaritas!

Stopped into Monarca and was very pleased with the experience. The restaurant is clean with fun decor, which makes it very inviting. The chips and salsa were good. The sauce was very fresh, but had very little spice to it. I need to find out if they have a hot salsa next time. We also got the cheese dip, which was a tad pricey, but was very good. It was not a thin, watery cheese, dip, but a very hearty dip that was delicious. The menu has a lot of good options, but I tried the grande burrito with grilled. I always figure if the basics are good, everything else will be. I was not disappointed. The burrito was flavorful and well balanced with ingredients. The grilled chicken was very tasty as . It came with Rojo and Verde sauce and both were good. I do wish they were a bit more spicy. My wife ordered the Tostones with steak and enjoyed them as well. They were a good savory dish and again the steak was very flavorful. The service was prompt and friendly, and I never liked for salsa or tea. This is not your typical Mexican. It's a bit upscale. I look forward to coming again.

Love the food here! The rice bowls, fresh guacamole, salads, grilled chicken, and steak are all amazing! The service has been great each time I've been with willingness to make substitutions and adjustments as needed and speedy food times. The location is convenient to get to from anywhere on the Northside of town. The environment has had a lot of thought put into it and the design provides some nice separation from other areas of the building. Only complaint is that the music is always slightly too loud.

Nice establishment. My tostones were perfect. I have also been to sit at the bar. Their margaritas are good. The staff was pretty nice as well.

We gave Monarca a try this evening and we were not disappointed. Great service by Aviana. She started us off with chips, salsa and we ordered cheese dip to go with it. Salsa and cheese dip was just right. My better half ordered Guacarron and it was very good. I ordered the Enchiladas Supreme and it was very good as well and then we added dessert. We decided to go with Sopapillas and Flan to cap off the night, we recommend both. We enjoyed the decor and the atmosphere. We will definitely be back and recommend you give them a try.

Came in early on a weekday, it was busy but we were still sat fairly quickly (2 people). I was immediately impressed by the interior. It's so pretty and colorful, leaning into the butterfly theme. All of the staff were welcoming and attentive- everyone was so so polite. The fresh guac is indeed fresh- made right at your table and you can choose what you add or don't to it. The guac, as well as all the other food was phenomenal. I had the tostones and the chimichurri sauce on it was my favorite, paired with the well seasoned steak. My mom loved her taco salad and we also got the mexi-corn and sweet plantains- nothing was lacking in any of the food we got. I would definitely come again for the amazing food and exceptional customer service.

Monarca is a new Mexican restaurant in Columbus, GA, and while the food was decent and tasted authentic, my experience left much to be desired. The environment is stunning--beautifully designed with a great atmosphere--so if you're going for vibes alone, this is the place to be. However, the overall service and food quality didn't match the aesthetic. We started with the Birria Eggrolls as an appetizer, but all of our food--appetizer included--arrived at the same time. I ordered the Chimichanga with rice and salad toppings, while my mother had an Enchilada and a Hard Shell Taco with rice and beans. The rice was unique and tasty, a white-style rice with corn, and everything came out piping hot. However, the chips and salsa were a major letdown. The chips were burned and hard, and when we asked the waitress about them, she simply said, "That's just how they are" and didn't offer replacements. The service was another big issue. Our waitress rarely checked on us, and the only time she seemed attentive was when she was rushing to hand us the bill and get us checked out. We were there for quite a while and only received one refill the entire time. Additionally, she lacked knowledge about the menu and the culture behind the dishes. For example, she couldn't explain the different styles of meat, didn't know what birria was, and couldn't provide insight on how Monarca prepares its Chimichanga. If you're working in a restaurant with such a rich cultural identity, it's crucial to know the menu and be able to guide customers. One odd detail worth mentioning is that alcoholic beverages weren't available when we visited. The waitress told me only fountain drinks, tea, and similar options were being served. I'm not sure if this was due to it being a Sunday or another reason, but it felt like a missed opportunity for a Mexican restaurant. While the food was decent and the ambiance was top-notch, Monarca fell short in service and execution. If you're looking for a reliable Mexican restaurant in Columbus, I'd recommend El Vaquero down the street. I've been dining there for over 10 years and have never had an issue. Monarca has potential, but until they improve their service and attention to detail, I'd suggest sticking with more established spots in the area.

I absolutely love Mexican food and being in Florida we have some great authentic places. That being said this place was soooooooo good! Love the decor, our server was so sweet and can we talk about the spicy mango margarita.....Yummmmm! I will be back for sure when visiting Columbus again.

Little late of a review we came during the opening night chips and salsa were good, but the chips were cold. Stale weren't hot and salted like they should've been salsa. You could tell was more of mass produce. I didn't have that flavor pop that you would expect the steak fajitas were huge. Let down very few bits of steak that were chewy like leather with no flavor and burnt. It was majority of vegetables as you can see in the photos Other party. Member ordered one of the taco bowl casseroles, and it was literally just chips with ground beef on it no flavoring no seasoning dry as can be thankfully the manager on duty gave us a chicken quesadilla to subside it beautiful interior and vibe great location service was decent. Unfortunately the manager is more of our server because the other server just disappeared All in all not thoroughly impressed not in my top five Mexican places of the area.

I'm extremely disappointed with Camileaux's in Columbus. I called ahead specifically to ask if…read moretheir crawfish were live or frozen and was told they were live. That's the only reason we chose this place to celebrate my son's Turning Green ceremony after 10 weeks of basic training. We ordered a lot of food, and almost everything was mediocre or just bad. The wings were tiny, we never received the gator bites, and the snow crab legs ($96 for 5 clusters) tasted freezer burnt with a terrible aftertaste. We added boiled eggs, which were overcooked, and paid extra for potatoes we never received, though it didn't matter because the ones that came with the boil were bland and completely unseasoned. But the biggest issue? The crawfish were frozen. That was the whole reason we came. When I spoke up, the server said he honestly didn't know and believed me when I said there's no way they were previously live because he didn't know who cooked them or how they were prepared. That alone says a lot. Yes, they removed the crawfish from the bill after I spoke up, but we still paid $196 (and I still tipped) for food that was clearly freezer-based and rushed through a fryer. Nothing about this experience felt Cajun or worth the money. If we had been told the truth from the start, we would have never come. Would not recommend.

We were seated within 15 mins of arrival. Everyone was so kind. Our table shared the shrimp cocktail, and I had the 2 filet medallions with green beans and cheesy grits. The food was delicious. I found the shrimp super flavorful. They are prepared by weight, not numbers, so the shrimp count is between 5-7. The cocktail sauce was tasty. I ordered my steak medium rare. It was just over that, but still so tasty, juicy, and tender. The grits were a stand out! They were so good that our table got an extra side to share. Our server, Addison was such a personality and knowledgeable about the menu. Her service convinced me that I could trust her with basically anything. We sat outside, so we never got further than the threshold so I can't say I know too much about the vibe inside. However, there was great people watching, GREAT food, and great company. All around, probably the best place we ate all weekend. Thank you Addison for making our dinner great!
