Came down for a work trip and this place was highly recommended. From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home. They were out of the G.O.A.T. when I arrived, but when I asked about it, they didn't hesitate for a second. They told me, "We'll make it for you - just give us 20 minutes." It was absolutely worth the wait. The G.O.A.T. was amazing, and the guava and cheese empanada was freshly made and just as incredible. If you're looking for authentic food, great service, and people who genuinely care about their customers, this is the place. Highly recommend! ------------------ Diablo, qué clase de comida. Todo estuvo bien brutal. Full recomendado.

Best lunch spot in Albany! It's fast, tasty, quality, and has a wide-variety of good options. The standard lunch meal is a protein and a carb-- I recommend the pulled pork as a protein. Meanwhile they also have many Empanada options, which were not as efficient to heat-up, so it delayed my order. They were, however, tasty! MOST IMPORTANTLY, they also have a great selection of fruit AND most importantly great, well-priced Acai Bowls!!! read more

Super polite service. Nice variety to choose from. Served buffet style. I got a small plate for under $20. The food has wonderful flavor like someone put a lot of effort into it. The ambiance is cozy with pops of color. I really enjoyed my meal there. read more

El Caribe Restaurant - Pulled pork, rice and beans, plantains, pineapple soda. - Dominican Near Me - Albany, Georgia

We really enjoyed El Caribe. It can be challenging to find healthy, homestyle, passionate food on the road. We stopped here to recharge and take a break from the road. The food was excellent and the staff was so inviting. I look forward to anytime we are passing through Albany so we can stop here. Thank you El Caribe for making us feel so welcomed and nourished read more

El Caribe is a jewel! The service was exceptional for a counter service place. They let me try half roasted and half stewed pork. They were both good but I think the stewed was a bit better. The rice and beans were spot on and the plantains were good as well. My wife got the Cuban sandwich (which I sampled!) and honestly, the only one I have had better than theirs was in Ft. Lauderdale. The food is ready if you order from the line, but if they cook in the back it still is out fairly quickly. This is a fun hole in the wall place. They are my favorite kind. It's small but clean and has a great Caribbean vibe. I will go back!!! read more

Delicious little taste of the Caribbean! Many selections for entrees and snacks. If you haven't, definitely give them a try! Delicious sweet plantains!!! Small dining room with window side dining bar, very clean! read more

Absolutely delicious simple comfort food, or the option to try something new if you're looking to do so. I've only ever gotten hot case food but they have lots of options. Very friendly and helpful staff with a cute clean look inside. read more

The service wasn't great. The food was half decent at most not to be critical, but I am from the Caribbean and I know the taste flavor no beans the rice was old. They took chicken that was already cooked and then they fried it. The experience was not the greatest Won't recommend it and not probably going back and if it's Caribbean place, please have people from the island there, it is our signature, which is our hospitality, lovely and smiling personality. read more

Absolutely love this place and I'm so glad there's a Dominican restaurant here, just what Albany needs, some SAZON!!! Everything is cooked to perfect. Their tres leches cake is bomb as heck. All the employees are super sweet and attentive. Being in the restaurant makes me miss DR but it's literally the closest thing to it out here, in Georgia in general. The vibes are just so chill and the food is so authentic. Shoutout to the owner, he's awesome! This will always be our go to place for as long as we live here in the 229! read more

I like this place food is a lil pricey but very good will definitely go again very clean

Great food and even better service. I have tried almost everything on the menu and have never had anything that wasn't absolutely delicious. Other restaurants in this town should take a hint from this place and come up to their level. read more

I stopped in to try the restaurant out for lunch. I was very satisfied. Good food, nice atmosphere, fast service. I definitely recommend!!!

I eat here for lunch sometimes. One of the best spots in town. Definitely the best empanadas, maybe the only in town, but they're fire. Everything I've had here was delicious. The plantains are great! read more

Top one or two restaurants in Albany! Go. You will not regret it. Dine in or dine or dine out. They have changed their Cubano sandwiches but they are still very very good - I just like the old ones better - but I'm am an old man I do not like change;) read more

Too much MSG used, meat was not served hot, music too loud, couldn't talk inside................

The best Carribean/ Cuban / Puerto Rican, Dominican food in SGa . It is very sanitary and the food is always fresh .

I love this place! The food is DELICIOUS!! They have so many great dishes. If I want something quick, I love to have some Empanadas. They have lots of different fillings. The stewed pork is my favorite plate with rice. I also love to get the mofongo with pork. It takes a little longer for them to cook it, but it's worth the wait!! They let you have of taste of something if you want first. Incredibly friendly staff. We come here once a week! One of my favorites! read more

So glad I found this spot! I was driving around Albany and drove past this restaurant and having just recently visited Puerto Rico, I was so excited to find a place offering Caribbean food! I wanted to try their mofongo, but they ran out of plantains and only had the fried sweet ones left as a side. I ended up ordering the pork stew over arroz con habichuelas and it was delicious! The stew was soooo good over the rice and as a side I had the fried sweet plantains. I also had the Cubana and chicken and cheese empanadas, which were very tasty (even cold, because I ended up taking them home as a snack for later). Overall, I'm very excited to have found this gem and I plan to return to try their mofongo . read more

Food was awesome, fish was well seasoned. Will definitely go back. Definitely will let my friends know about this place

I had El Caribe for the first time today. I hate I did not have my cellphone to show how good my food look. I ordered the bbq ribs, plaintains, peas & rice and a jalenpena/cheese/beef apanada.VERY GOOD!! WILL BE BACK read more

Food is amazing. Atmosphere is great! Yuri is always very helpful and friendly!! The plantains are so good I wish they had more in stock!!

I was told a of the great items and friendly atmosphere. I was disappointed. After waiting in line behind three men ahead and one behind. The gentleman ahead of me ordering the same as I. I was overlooked initially, the male behind me had to signify I was next. My portions were observable smaller than the gentleman ahead of me. We would pay the same price. I also did not get all the fruit he wanted. I eliminated some due to allergies, so that should have accounted for something.Felt ignored , unwelcome and uncomfortable. Two of Ladies unfriendly. read more

The food at this place is great. Ox tail, rice and peas are off the chain. Plaintains are excellent and the best cuban sandwiches. Perfection! read more

Great place to eat for Caribbean style food. The mofongo is worth the wait for sure. Also a good price for the amount of food.

We found this place by chance searching ethnic cuisines between Columbus and Valdosta. The restaurant is small, but spotless. The employees were incredibly friendly, even offering samples for us to try before we chose our meal. We each picked a type of pork, the rice of the day, chocolate Tres Leche cake, and shared plantains. The portions were huge, and I couldn't even finish a small order. The food was absolutely amazing! Perfect temperature, perfect seasoning, perfect texture. The cake was rich and light. I would drive the 2 1/2 hours just to eat there again and then drive back. We cannot wait for the opportunity to return! It's a must try. read more

Fantastic food and service. Highly recommend. Great addition to the food scene in Albany.

Stopped here while traveling through the area. Had the Dominican burger with fries, which was amazing!!! They had lots of menu options and the customer service was great! I always prefer to eat local rather than at chains when traveling and this was a great place to stop at! read more

Food is delicious and the restaurant is so nice! Definitely recommend for lunch date or quick lunch grab during work.

Conveniently located for visitors and locals alike, directly across from the Days Inn on Oglethorpe Blvd. I splurged a bit (YOLO ) and got half & half, stewed chicken and stewed oxtails with rice. I LOVE oxtails so it was nice to try them with a Latin kick. Make sure you try the passion fruit juice too..soooo good. The fresh fruit smoothies and empanadas are really good too. If you're on the fence about trying them out, you're in luck as they offer FREE SAMPLES EVERYDAY. read more
