Even assuming this is THE BEST food in the world, which it wasn't, I simply would/ could not go back because the ambiance was SO loud and rowdy, it was impossible to enjoy. It was so loud, in fact, that my waitress couldn't hear me, so she got my order incorrect. They must know their patrons have a tendency to be like this-- because the room we were in had signs plastered everywhere, asking people not to yell. I think we would have had a completely different experience, had we been seated in the main, dining area where all the families were. Instead, as a quiet couple eating together, we were seating in what seemed to be "the Party Zone" outside in the enclosed patio room. This was our second time eating here and it was even better than the last. We were immediately greeted and our server came over quickly and took our drink order. Even though the place was packed we were seated after a five minute wait. The cheese dip was too runny and didn't have any flavor. Our food arrived in a timely manner and was delicious. My only other and main complaint was our server, Alexander. If he would have been a little more attentive to us while he flirted with the table of females next to us the night would've been perfect. OMG, we just had the best meal and the most enjoyable time at Los Vaqueros. My husband and I are in town visiting family for Thanksgiving and are from Los Angeles. We can be picky when it comes to Mexican food coming from LA. This place was amazing. We first had the Patron Margerita's. For dinner we had the steak tacos as well as the El Pastor tacos that were recommended by our excellent waitress Bertha. I trusted her because she guided us through all menu items and they were beyond amazing. The absolute worst for take out. We ordered take out tonight and the Chile in the Chile relleno was burnt and the cheese on top was so burnt it was crunchy. Also the cheese dip was really thick and smelled funny. Tried it on a few chips and it tasted like it had gone bad. Usually this place is great for dine in but they are the absolute worst for ordering online or take out. Ended up throwing most of a $30 order away because it was so bad. We had a wonderful dinner here. It is so nice to find chilaquiles on the menu in a Mexican restaurant. These were really good with lots of chicken on top. They could have used a little more sauce but a dollop of the table salsa sufficed. The shrimp quesadilla was amazing - the shrimp were grilled with a slightly spicy glaze that was very tasty. The fresh avocado slices on top of the rice were a nice touch. The prices seemed very good based on the serving sizes, and the service was great. We usually go here for dinner a couple of times a month but several weeks ago myself and several of the girls from work went for lunch. Wow does it look different in the daylight! Old, dirty, seats are torn, smells bad and I don't even want to talk about the floor, disgusting! I will not go back, day or night! Upon our arrival we were seated at a large booth that could fit 4 people comfortably. I ordered the medium sized lime margarita on the rocks with salt, which my boyfriend ordered a Dos Equis. My margarita was very strong and quite tasty. The beer was good, but they provided a frosty glass, which caused the beer to freeze on top after being poured. Their chips were pretty good, but some of them were a little stale, which kind of disappointed me, but in a way I was kind of glad so that I did't get full of chips. The salsa was a little too spicy for my taste, I really couldn't really take it. Ehh. They should have a non spicy salsa and a spicy salsa. We ordered the fajitas Los Vaqueros which is a steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas with plenty of onions, bell peppers and tomatoes..... this dish was quite good. The fajitas were also accompanied by pico, guacamole, refried beans with cheese, and Spanish rice. These sides were all good and complimented the fajitas that I ordered. I really enjoyed my entree and really liked how they had lots of onions... delicous! Upon seeing the consequences of the frosty glass with dos equis, i decided to order without the glass and thoroughly enjoyed my beer.
