I visited this establishment as a newcomer to town, hoping for a positive experience, but unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, there was no greeting or acknowledgment. I asked a tall gentleman at the front where the restroom was, and his response was noticeably rude. When I inquired about fresh fruit drinks or similar beverages, he curtly replied that none were available and showed no willingness to assist further. I proceeded to order two asada tacos, which were excessively oily and unappetizing. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this place and would advise others to avoid it at all costs. read more

Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Salsa was mild, but good with crispy chips. Both of our dishes were prepared & presented nice. Tasty, good-sized portions. TV's behind bar so sports was on (a plus, for us at times). We do not live here, however we would stop again if passing thru the area in the future. read more

We were visiting family and decided to give this place a try. We were seated right away by a very friendly hostess. She also took our order. The tea was in huge glasses and fresh brewed. We were served chips with salsa in a carafe and given 2 small bowls.. (I love it when it's served this way!). The chips were crunchy and the salsa was great! We ordered the Mexi Bowl which we split because the server said it was large. It had grilled marinated chicken, black beans, rice, fajita veggies, shredded cheese, guacamole and lettuce. I'm glad we split it because it was HUGE! It was also delicious!! We'll definitely be back when we come back to town!! read more

Great food great service super cold beer in a giant glass for a low price. This is my favorite place for Mexican food. The trio meat on rice and cheese was awesome. I've been waiting for the police to show up all day. Ice had mold in it, we didn't complain. I ordered beef nachos. Food came and the entire plate had a 1/4" of grease in the bottom. Chips were grease soaked and soggy. Not edible. We stood up to complain and the manager asked did you get ground beef? I said yes, she said ya indicating their always greasy. I just walked out after getting in the car the manager comes out demanding I pay. I told her I didn't eat it and I'm not paying, to which she replied you can't do that I'm calling the police. I asked her to please do so and proceeded to go home. I'm so disappointed that the police haven't come to arrest me over $10 nachos. read more

We have eaten here several times. The food is plentiful, well-seasoned, and reasonably priced. The servers are attentive. The restaurant is clean. The outdoor porch is nice to eat on, even with the weather is cooler thanks to the heaters. Dawson does not have much to choose from, so Mama Rita's is a welcome addition. read more

Fast, efficient service. Clean, mostly family atmosphere. We were there on a late Saturday afternoon, early evening and the FL-AL football game was on the TV, which was fine by us. There was a FL football fan who was a little loud and cursing at times. Food was presentable and good but not great. Definitely will return whenever we are in Dawson. read more

This place is very clean. The staff is friendly and the food is awesome! If you're not satisfied in any way, the manager will go above and beyond to make it right, if the complaint is legit.
