Loved it!!! Top notch food and service. Four stars due to the sneaky little inclusion of a 20% tip without telling us. I checked and looked at the bill when it came but most of the time I would have just tipped 20% or more on top of what we were already charged. However, just make sure you check the bill before paying. Now coming to the food which was fantastic. We stayed with all the small plates starting with the farina bread and sour cream (amazing!!), we also had the fluke crudo which was good but not as good as the tuna crudo with almonds, dates and labneh (delish !!!!). was not. ). We tried Eli's Baba Ganoush 2.0 with har bracha tahini and mint (very good!), fennel salad with pistachios, preserved lemon and East Jerusalem yogurt stones (!!!), chard octopus (good, not fantastic). . ) and also ordered dessert. Milk (like a chocolate Budino - delicious and worth every calorie). The cocktails were also very good. All around an absolutely amazing experience (despite the tip situation). I have already booked another one. Another tip: don't let them sit you in the area where they keep the water and ice bottles - it's too noisy and you can get covered with ice cubes while filling/refilling the ice buckets. read more

Dining at Mesiba is truly a feast for the senses. From the moment you step inside, the eclectic and energetic atmosphere inspired by Tel Aviv's vibrant culture instantly sets the stage for a memorable experience. The Sumac Chicken was an absolute standout -- perfectly cooked and tender, with a rich, savory flavor heightened by the accompanying luffa bread, crisp spinach salad, tangy amba, and crunchy almonds. Each bite was a delightful blend of textures and tastes that felt both comforting and exciting. Adding to the pleasure of the meal were the Roasted Carrots, which offered a beautifully balanced combination of sweetness from the carrots, creamy tanginess from the labneh, and the fresh, peppery notes of red watercress. The attention to detail and creativity in every dish is apparent, making each course feel like a unique culinary experience. The entire ambiance of Mesiba enhances the meal, with its lively design-forward décor and a buzz of energy that perfectly captures the essence of Tel Aviv's culinary spirit. Whether you're coming for a casual dinner or celebrating something special, Mesiba delivers a dining experience that leaves you wanting to come back for more. read more

Love that this new neighborhood restaurant offers the whole complement of environment, cuisine, drink, and service. I would concur with some other reviews that it tends to be more expensive than other eateries in the neighborhood. But every meal we provided was genuine. I think moussaka is not quite for me. The scallop was also not my favorite - the meat almost tasted alcoholic and pungent, but it was meaty. I enjoyed the sauce more than I enjoyed the actual scallop itself. The octopus was done perfectly and if mixed with the scallop or cauliflower sauce, it gets even better. The cauliflower was the absolute best though. I think there were capers mixed in and I love me some capers, but it was flavorful and satisfying. 5/5 -- A Fantastic Upscale Greek Dining Experience in Greenpoint!…read more What a wonderful addition to Greenpoint! From the ambiance to the food and service, everything at An Arena was beautifully executed and genuinely exceeded our expectations. My partner and I walked by this place for two years since it opened and always told ourselves to give this place a try - especially since it's right next to apartment building! We came here to celebrate my partner's birthday with two of our friends, and it turned out to be the perfect spot for a special occasion. The menu had so many wonderful options, but the absolute star of the show was the lobster orzo! It was easily our favorite dish of the evening. The octopus was also delicious, as were the various appetizers we ordered. Everything was beautifully presented, thoughtfully prepared, and incredibly satisfying. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the hospitality and attention to detail. I hadn't even explicitly mentioned that we were celebrating my partner's birthday, but the staff surprised him with a lovely sorbet dessert! It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the evening feel even more special. It's those little touches that really distinguish a great restaurant from a good one. The ambiance is another huge plus. It's a quieter, more upscale dining experience that's perfect for date nights, birthdays, or simply enjoying a nice dinner with friends and family without the chaos of some of the busier restaurants in the neighborhood. For fellow Greenpoint residents, the location is incredibly convenient, especially if you live in Greenpoint Central, 77 Commercial, 55 Commercial, Blue Slip, Bell Slip, The Dupont, or Eagle + West. It's wonderful to have a proper sit-down Greek restaurant within walking distance, particularly in an area where the immediate dining options can feel somewhat limited beyond casual eateries and bodegas. An easy 5/5 across the board! Between the excellent food, beautiful ambiance, attentive service, and thoughtful hospitality, we couldn't have asked for a better birthday dinner. We'll absolutely be returning and look forward to bringing more friends and family here. So happy to have a restaurant like this in our corner of Greenpoint!
