It's too bad this place is in Greenfield (aka over 100 miles from my home). Otherwise I would love to try more of their food! Brags (+): Tried the Mojo and Thai burritos. I'm not sure if it's "mojo" like "Mojo JoJo" from the Powerpuff Girls or "mo-ho" like the Spanish word. The former probably makes more sense, but I said "mo-ho"... oops. Both burritos were yum, and the extra hot sauce they gave (you have to ask for it) was also SUPER TASTY and decently spicy. Sweeet. Also under $7 per burrito = pretty good price! Beats (-): Oh yea, remember how I wasn't sure how mojo was pronounced? The Spanish word mojo means "I wet," and my burrito was also a bit too wet and juicy to the point of sogginess. Mesa Verde is a great choice for a quick meal whether you are dining in or picking up. The service is really great and the atmosphere is pleasant. They have a great variety on the menu and it's all super affordable. If you're looking for a recommendation I would suggest a burrito bowl, you really would be hard pressed to go wrong with that choice. Just left here 20 min ago. My drink was good. My food was stone cold. Never have had a stone cold burrito ever before. The "cook" forgot to heat it up. Food was quick but somehow lukewarm/cold. Loved the homemade chips, salsa was a little watery. Husband's meal seemed more black beans than anything else, and the pork in my burrito didn't taste like much of anything. It has been a while since I have revisited Mesa, but at one point it was a (bi)weekly staple for my friends and I for dinner. My top 2 choices are - Sweet Potato and Kale Burrito - the way the cheese tangs against the sweet, earthy goodness of the SP was enough to make me want to sell my soul the first time I had it - Catfish Tacos - super super super good, although once I made a horrendous mistake and tried to add their special catfish to the sweet potato and kale burrito. Cheese and catfish are really awful together. But the tacos are perfect. They come with sauteed red onions which look beautiful. They also have amazing margaritas and local beer, and there is almost always seating. read more

Mesa can be a hit or miss. Typically they have amazing food for a decent price, being the only Mexican restaurant in Greenfield. There have been times when I ask for guacamole and haven't received it, the rice has been hard, or the worst was when I ordered to go and received significantly less than I typically do in one of my favorite bowls. These errors can be spotty so doesn't always lead to a bad experience. I just went last weekend and had a great experience with a chicken burrito. We were excited to get a couple of burritos tonight. I got a Marinated Bella mushroom and my wife got a spinach and garlic. The rice was so under cooked that it was crunchy, we added tofu and it was so over cooked that it was hard and chewy... We had to put them in bowls because after the 2nd bite they just fell apart... We were sorry to say that we were so extremely disappointed... The reason I gave them one star was because the size was HUGE, and the Bella mushroom had really good flavor. The food is always great and the people there really care about their customers and what they give them for food. Their burritos weigh 10 pounds and everything is always fresh and delish. The atmosphere is very cool. Kind of a Mexican church (pews and all) meets a catina. Staff were very friendly. Order at the counter and they deliver it to your table. Food was ready pretty quickly. We had a burrito bowl and a jalapeno burrito. Both were very good and reasonably priced. They seem to have a decent beer selection, even some on tap. They also serve margaritas. My mom and went here looking for somewhere that had outdoor, distanced seating during the pandemic. Unfortunately, it stormed right before we went and we thought we'd have to just get takeout, but one of the employees came out and squeegeed an outdoor table for us. I love their burrito bowls and always have enough to take half home for a later meal. I got the Thai bowl, which is my favorite, and my mom has the spinach garlic burrito bowl. They were really thoughtful in their social distancing setup outside with plexiglass dividers between picnic tables. They added plants and they don't look half bad. The dividers add safety but also a little privacy and maybe they'll keep them beyond social distancing. Mesa's where I go if I want a totally serviceable burrito served by hip white people with gauged ears. If you come here expecting a Mexican restaurant, you're likely going to come away a little disappointed. The food is always at least decent. (The Thai tofu burrito is quite good.) But don't expect it to compare to your local food truck or taqueria. The closest thing to authentic Mexican you'll find here are the waitstaff's sugar skull tattoos. read more

I really like Mesa Verde! I lived in Austin,TX for 4 years and a good burrito goes missed so I'm glad I found Mesa Verde. They always get my order perfect, and I'm the kind of person who omits cheese, adds tofu, that sort of thing. But they never skip a beat and they are friendly and helpful. The margaritas are wonderful. They also really do a good job catering to all types of people, vegetarians and vegans alike.
