Been here a couple times since it's opened, the food is good, fish tacos there are great, only complaint is that when you order takeout the tortilla is soggy. I love the Jarritos there, quesadillas are an extremely cheesy and heavy, service is per usual, no problems. The decor is fine, not a fancy place. Trust me, just don't try the smoky Tabasco sauce. read more

Where do I begin, My family went out for dinner tonight and everything was going fine until my mother's meal came out. Before I continue let me say we've been coming here for year's with very little to no issues from them. But when my mothers meal arrived this time it had come out wrong. When she had ordered she made sure to specify she wanted grilled chicken, not steak. But of course, it came out with steak, so she politely asked for it to be taken off the check as the restraunt was close to closing and she doesn't like eating late. After which the manager turns the corner and says to the kitchen staff, loudly enough for us to hear in the back room, "this fu***** family every time." After hearing this I wait for him to come back to our table and confront him by asking him to ask what he said when he turned the corner. To which his response was "Nothing" trying to act as if nothing happened. After telling him that was untrue and unprofessional, he began to swear even more, and brought up a past situation which i had prior admitted to being my fault and apologized. (it was over a margarita. I thought I had asked for frozen but I didn't so I had asked him take it back) All in all absolutely terrible customer service for a manager to act this way and I would never advise anyone to come here for a meal. I hope this guy gets fired!!! I will be coming in to talk to the owners. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

This place was a marvelous surprise. The Mexican food was very good. The waiter was friendly and helpful with with history of the town. My sister-in-law is Mexican and part of her test for good Mexican is the rice and the salsa. She loved the rice and the salsa she wanted to take home a jar if she could. read more

We enjoy the food and atmosphere at Los Agaves. It's clean and the staff are great. I can't escape without ordering queso and chips.

This is my absolute favorite local restaurant. While the restaurant is on the smaller side for seating, it has a wonderful ambience. It's very welcoming, the food is always excellent and the staff is great. I don't eat very often, but takeout is equally as consistent. The food is always delicious, hot and the portions are great. I absolutely love Mexican food and they have some of the best I've had. The staff is always friendly and when I order for takeout they always tell me to drive safe which I've never had anyone else say to me when I order food and it's just a nice added caring touch. I cannot recommend their food enough. The quesadillas, taquitos, fajitas, burritos, taco salad and so much more are delicious!! read more

My wife and I met my daughter at a halfway point between where she lives and we live. This restaurant is a gem. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. I had the shrimp fajita burrito and it came with a red sauce which was delicious. My wife have the spinach enchilada and she loved it. Great locally owned restaurant. The staff is friendly, the portions, for what I've had, are more than adequate and of good quality but, and this is just my preference so I can't blame the restaurant, but I wish the fajitas had more flavour. To me they seem bland but they're always willing to add jalapeños to spice it up. If you go don't forget desert and try their fried ice cream. read more

We had pollo en mole and The Asada skirt steak bowl. The refrito was delicious and the skirt steak flavorful. A definite repeat for my family. Give it a try when your in town. We came for lunch. Lunch menu available and regular menu. Lots of choices on the menu authentic Mexican food. takeout and eat in customers. I had 2 chicken tacos, ok, the chicken was shredded type a little tough. The chips w salsa I would have like better if they were warmed. Other order fajita w shrimp chicken beef. I sampled the chicken and shrimp thought it was on the dry side. a lot comes w rice beans avocado etc. Churros tasted frozen not homemade they are served w Hershey's type chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Good addition for Athol they could do more to make it 5 stars. . Prices are reasonable. Great service by Barbara the Waitress. read more

Excellent food and service. Nothing fancy but a full-service bar and several booths for in-house service. Take-out menu is extensive. Most of all, the food is fresh and authentic cuisine. Highly recommend the tortilla soup, carne asada and their camarones (shrimp) con cream. It's downtown Athol so parking is easy right close on most nights. However there is no way that stuff is not sitting around in the back when a table for four can get their order in 7 minutes. The margaritas were not even mediocre. Drink at home and go to Taco Bell. Both my wife and I were delighted with the quality of the food, speed of service, and friendliness of the staff. We are fanatics over mole sauce, and theirs is among the best we have had. Try cheese or chicken enchiladas with mole sauce! Guacamole is also excellent, very fresh. The prices are very low and the portions are generous. You can feel good about a generous tip and still spending less than you planned. Today was my first visit. I plan to try everything on the menu.
