I got the Mole Poblano. I once made my own mole sauce and it took 2 days and was the most complicated thing I've ever tried to make so when I was told it is made fresh by the family grandmother, I had to go for it. It's truly special and the chicken served with it was a huge portion. The refried beans are creamy and not salty, a mistake I often find in Mexican restaurants, and the rice was perfectly cooked to add a bit of their lime avocado salsa into it. A fantastic meal at frankly a price that's more than reasonable. She let me try a sample of the flan as a tease, because they had made a fresh batch and it wasn't cool enough yet. The best flan I've ever had. Seriously. In a few weeks they will be open for breakfast including huevos rancheros, migas ( woo hoo), and more and I can't wait. We'll have another fantastic place to stop for breakfast downtown in addition to Freedom Cafe across the street. Why four instead of 5 stars? The chicken was a bit overcooked even though it was disguised by the off the charts good mole sauce and they still have a few brand new opening bugs to work out. Their big menu doesn't list drinks yet (though the lace is non alcoholic). Loving it. Put me in a good mood. I posted pics of their menu but remember they have been open 2 days, and it probably will change and breakfast hasn't been added yet.

Everyone really liked what they got (and I had some picky eaters in my party). For dessert, I had their frozen custard (peach) and it was smooth and creamy. It was VERY good. The owner was very welcoming and kind. The wait staff were on their first and second day, respectively. I am optimistic that they'll find their groove. Until then, the food totally makes it worth the visit. Also, hopefully they'll expand their air conditioning to the front room outside the diner car, as it can get a little warm.

The bar serves up 4 draft beers, bottle/can beers, margaritas, sangrias, mixed drinks, Coke soft drinks, and Jarritos. The food offerings include chips & salsa ($), pupusas, pastelitos, enchiladas, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, gorditas, fajitas, pineapple bowls, fried tilapia, and meat platters. I stopped by Cocina Lupita Turners Falls for dinner recently and dined in. I was given a menu and offered an ice water. I ordered the Chicken Fajitas ($19 plus tax) which were slightly different from what I order at a Mexican restaurant. The Fajitas came out piled onto a very hot iron plate, served with rice & red beans and salad (iceberg, tomato, cucumber) with dressing on the side, no tortillas or guac & sour cream for these fajitas. The fajitas were not too greasy/oily, which had a mix of tender chicken pieces, carrots, greens peppers, onions, & greens. The rice & beans and the salad with ranch dressing complemented the hot plate of chicken fajitas. I finished the three plates of food and was all set. The check was presented which was $20.33 with tax and before tip. I would come back here to try their pupusas and tacos dorados.

The kung pao chicken and pepper steak came as you would expect so my husband and I teased the waitress about why we didn't get special plates with edible flowers. She was cute. The food was delicious and the portions just the right size. My husband asked for his king pao extra spicy and it definitely was not- but it's ok cause then we didn't mind sharing with him. I had the pepper steak and it was tender and flavorful. Everything was really good. If we lived nearby, we'd make it our go-to Panasian spot!
