The food was meh at best. The chicken was overcooked and hard to chew. Everything on my plate lack flavors which you would expect from a Mexican restaurant. The service though friendly wasn't quite on point either. We had to remind about needing silverware. When asked about our meals and I said not so great. The waiter showed no interest and walked away. So good! We were heading west on I-90, lunch hour was approaching, tummies were on empty, so decided to stop off in Lee and look for lunch. As soon as we parked, we saw Jalisco - Mexican sounded good right off the bat - and entered. Great choice! Friendly service, clean interior, and outstandingly tasty and satisfying food. Their complimentary salsa and chips were fresh and homemade so knew immediately this was a solid place. I had the fajitas lunch special, opting for a mix of steak and chicken - simply delicious. Was craving Mexican while visiting the Berkshires and found this lovely place. Definitely a more traditional restaurant, but food was very well executed and portions were large. I also appreciated the many options on the kids menu, my boys loved their meals and dipping their fries in the yummy queso. I had the pollo cantina (was similar to arroz con pollo) and it was very tasty with well seasoned chicken and more of that great queso. My husband got the mixed fajitas and loved them. This was a terrific find as we were driving through Lee on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was pretty empty upon arrival, and we were promptly greeted with thick, crispy chips and delicious salsa. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, including the birria tacos, carne asada, and meal combos. The queso on the chimichangas was mild but paired well with the rice and creamy beans. Outstanding carnitas tacos--some of the best I've ever had. Good guacamole, chips, and salsa. Service friendly but slow, but this was not the fault of waitstaff. They are very short staffed. One thing: local water isn't great. Table water tasted like a swimming pool. They need a decent nonalcoholic beer, anything from Athletic Brewing, or maybe Sam Adam's Just the Haze. Corona NA and Heineken 0.0 are just not good nonalcoholic beers. This problem is really easy to fix! read more

Visiting the area we stopped into this quaint little restaurant on Main Street for an early dinner. We were greeted with a smile and directed to take a seat anywhere. We felt right at home in a comfortable, clean booth. The bar tender came right over with menus and took our drink orders. He gave us the perfect amount of time to make our dinner selections and was patient as we questioned clarity on a few menu items. The rice and refried beans were fabulous. The chicken burrito was spectacular. I didn't care for the soft ground beef taco. A bit too much cumin for my liking and messy to eat. When the bartender collected our plates I shared my feedback regarding the taco. He was apologetic but I told him it was alright I loved everything else about the meal. Much to our surprise he delivered a lava cake on the house for us to share. Needless to say, his thoughtfulness resulted in a substantial tip, happy customers and this review. Quesadillas are giant and if you want a stand out quesadilla order the Fajita Quesadilla. Shrimp dishes are excellent. While many diners sometimes pass on the refried beans in other restaurants you'll love them here. Flautas topped with freshly made guacamole are delicious. Ent for lunch on our way back to Connecticut on a Monday. . I ordered the taco salad and my partner ordered fajitas. Both were from the lunch menu. I asked to substitute the tortilla bowl for corn tortillas on the side because I prefer corn tortillas over flour. The waitress was more than happy to accommodate my request. We were served a chips and salsa to start which was very fresh and delicious.The meals were very delicious as well and very satisfying. Long day of horse racing, looking for Mexican dinner and saw this on Yelp. 4.3 stars, so we headed over. As we entered, we were quickly greeted and told we could sit anyway. We chose a booth, which had comfy seats. We were brought crunchy tortilla chips and very tasty & fresh salsa. As I was sharing, I didn't add hot sauce and would have liked mine a bit spicy. (Personal preference). My peach mango margarita was huge and delicious. We placed our orders, which was cooked quickly, hot and large quantities! My friend had chicken quesadillas, which will be 3 meals for her. I had the chicken chimichanga, 2 nicely portioned size. The sauce was delicious and a new favorite of mine. We are visiting the area and many restaurants were closed on Monday. We stopped at this restaurant and we were so happy with the food and the service! We ordered 1/2 a picture of jalapeño margaritas that were yummy and plentiful. Food was delicious and service was wonderful even though they got super busy. Chips and salsa were great, Carnitas Tacos were big and full of meat. The one item that was less than expected was the beef chimichanga, the fillings were delicious but they were barely fried and not traditionally deep fried. Proper Mexican food is tough to come by in the northeast. There's a very good place in Great Barrington, but I'd dare say this place is even better.
