Had lunch here after some shopping at the Lee Outlet shops. The place itself is small, clean, and I have to say that I really enjoyed the Mexican style pottery that the food came in. I think what I can't get over is the prices of the food and how it was just ok. Not bad, but not excellent. Some stuff I get if it's a little on the pricey side. If you're serving up a homemade mole that took hours to make I get it, but some other stuff, like the carnitas taquitos (they had another name I can't remember) 18 bucks for 5 of em with rice and beans, yikes! I think the plus side though is that they tasted very fresh, these beans didn't come out of a can so I appreciated that. We ordered aguas frescas and they were not authentic. It was pretty much a concentrated syrup that you add water to. There was some stuff on the menu where I couldn't believe the price point, 13 bucks for some chips with guac, why? Believe the 4+1/2 rating here- because the Mexican food here at Avocado C. is alive and kicking in non-Latino Lee, MA. And if you're still unsure and need cheering up, come to this Mexican hideaway on Railroad St. away from the town's principal road, Main St. Avocado's dull outside is the total opposite inside. High top modernish seating, concrete floor, festive colorful strings+pompoms on ceiling is what you get in this fun and lively spot. Hubs enjoyed their frozen Margarita and my Passion Fruit Agua Fresca barely tasted like it and tasted more like it was savagely diluted with water. The diced up shrimp in my 4 tacos were seasoned perfectly and piled high with shredded lettuce and hubs loved the shrimp+beef for his dish. I'm not sure what Avocado's strong suit is- but I'm guessing it's their Fajitas because you'll get your sizzling protein(s) mixed in with green+white onions in the cast iron plate and a dose of Mexican music. The folks at Avocado C. are doing something majorly right putting forth meals that Latinos and non-Latinos totally enjoy. And it was proof when we were here. Service was friendly and attentive. We had a wonderful dinner. The staff was welcoming, and immediately, we enjoyed authentic Mexican food, which can be hard to find. After amazing salsa and guac, we enjoyed the mole with the Enmoladas. Couldn't decide so we did 2 chicken and 2 beef; still can't decide which was better. (Both were amazing. Not sweet but very flavorful.) Our extremely picky eater got the shrimp tacos and loved them. Quesadilla with grilled chicken also rated highly. And the rice and beans were top notch. My wife and I usually eat at a different restaurant when we visit Lee but decided to take a chance on this one. It is a small restaurant with a kind of local atmosphere. As soon as we entered we were greeted by a wonderful aroma - as well as by a super friendly young woman named Louisa. The restaurant was not busy - only one other couple- and Louisa said we could sit anywhere. She gave us menus and after a few minutes took our drink order. After bringing the drinks she took our food order. I got a grilled chicken burrito and my wife ordered a veggie burrito- with added mole (a chocolatey sauce). Our food arrived timely and smelled absolutely wonderful. The burritos were packed with filling and were quite scrumptious! The grilled chicken in mine was spiced rather uniquely and was absolutely terrific. My wife's burrito had a great variety of veggies and my wife loved it. We highly recommend this eatery and know you will not be disappointed if you give it a try. It is located down a side street and easy to miss but it is definitely worth your effort to locate it. read more

Was in the Berkshire's for the night and decided to try this place. It's very cute and very tiny. The staff was very friendly the second we walked in. You can tell they are trying their hardest and working hard to make their customers happy. It was good, I don't eat Mexican much, but my travel mate orders a pulled chicken quesadilla and said it was the best he's ever had. I ordered nachos (asked them to be vegetarian which they did and that was nice) and it was really good. Very freaking huge tho. Rice and beans also vegan which I love. We ordered a slice of tres leches cake to go and ate it later in the hotel and it was also very tasty. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area. read more

Really good experience at this small but mighty Mexican place that we stumbled onto when heading south after a day at The Clark in Williamstown. We've been disappointed with so many places in the Berkshires! Saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. We liked the scope of the menu and we're delighted with the two dishes we ordered: the shrimp tacos and chicken enmoladas, a great plate of nicely seasoned shredded chicken covered in a delicious mole sauce and topped with queso fresco. Both dishes came with rice and black beans and red and green hot sauce. The tacos had lots of perfectly cooked shrimp and tomato and onion. They were filling without being heavy. We very much enjoyed both!! Service was friendly and efficient and everything came out hot and fresh. We enjoyed the late afternoon lunch enormously. read more

What a find! My wife and I were in Tyringham at the Cobble. We didn't realize how close Lee was, 5 minutes. We were heading g for a different place and saw Avocado Cafe. Started with a margarita,, tangy and sweet with just enough kick. The guacamole had tomatoes which I love. We let our waitress know we were vegan and she made an excellent suggestion for us. Very delicious! A nice place off of main st Lee. Finally a place where you can have that authentic Mexican flavor in the Berkshires!! There's 1hr parking so I've found it easy to park and enjoy my meal. My food came out at a good time. Service is great. Staff are friendly and fast. There's not a whole lot of seating and it's first come first serve. There are tables outside. It's not a huge place but the ambiance is cozy and welcoming! I have gotten the enchiladas verdes which were delicious and a good plate to share. I've also gotten the sopes with chicken tinga. The sopes were on the smaller side but great flavor. I loved both of them! Then for dessert I had tres leches. SO GOOD. I'm usually picky for dessert but this was milky and had good texture. I'm definitely coming back more often! read more

Just a few bumps. Nothing major. I'd give it 4.5. They didn't answer the phone several times, and that was kind of odd. I called for my curbside delivery. After a little confusion, they found my car (she said it was her 1st day). I had the chorizo taco and mole burrito. The mole was pretty good, but the taco was off the chain! A couple hours later, I ordered 4 more chorizo tacos with extra cilantro since the first one had hardly any cilantro on it. I asked for them to wrap them each individually in foil, but they didn't do it. I had the waitress bring me the foil and I did it myself. The second curbside call was never answered, so I went inside to get it myself. They didn't give me any napkins either time. Nor a fork/spoon for my rice. I didn't much care for the chips and salsa. They were a little stale, and the salsa was really runny. But the tacos and that mole burrito were on point. Yummy! read more

Having lived in both southern and northern California for many years, I can attest that the grilled chicken burritos and guacamole are authentic, fresh, and delicious. The red sauce is spicy, smoky, and flavorful. The green sauce is just as it should be: very spicy, smooth, tangy from the tomatillos, and comforting. (I was a bit disappointed that they were out of green salsa on my third time ordering food to go, but hopefully they'll have it again next time!) The guacamole is chunky and fresh with cilantro and diced red onion and a hint of lime: it reminds me of the kind made right at the table in Los Angeles. The grilled chicken and black beans were delicious, nutritious, and well prepared. This restaurant is an excellent and affordable addition to the culinary offerings in downtown Lee. We are lucky to have some great restaurant options here in this homey small town. I want to try dining in next time: the decor is cool with lots of beautiful wood on the bar and walls. Very impressed. We're born and raised Texans so we're rather picky. I had the Tacos Dorados. Very flavorful and fried perfectly. They use the good Oaxaca cheese. My husband enjoyed the burrito tinga with spicy salsa. Goof heat to thr salsa and the chicken was seasoned well. My mother in law raved about the pork enchiladas. What a hidden gem!!!!! We stumbled upon this place while visiting the Berkshires and had the most AMAZING lunch. Manuela was taking care of the entire bar and restaurant front end. She made us delicious margaritas ( I recommend the signature margarita) and took our orders very quickly.
