This review is a combination of two separate visits to Mesa Verde-burrito specials change often but menu's are available at the door to look at before ordering. Mesa verde is consistently delicious and the burritos are HUGE! For the price and size I eat twice-half there and half take out. I stopped in today 4/25 to use a gift card I was given. $25 dollars can easily feed 2 adults (entree only). They are by far the best value burrito option for the area. I had the space cowboy burrito for dinner-the BBQ shredded beef was tender, seasoned well and sauced appropriately. My burrito tortilla stayed dry and I was able to hand held eat with ease. The menu said jalapeño poppers in the burrito and I was shocked to see that it was a house made fresh popper-it made the burrito nicely spiced with just the right amount of heat. Mesa verde won community support points from me for offering their space for community fundraisers-they were a host for a Haitian food fundraiser that was absolutely amazing-community engagement is essential and mesa verde shines bright on that front. I've ordered the exact same thing every time (4x now) each time I order a quesadilla and tell them exactly what I want in the quesadilla they give me other items that are not part of my order. I specifically have the items removed. today was no different. This order is getting one star because it's the lowest I can give. When made right the food is absolutely delicious. This is a fact! What makes the experience so terrible? I called in to inform the staff that again they have messed up the order (a simple I'm sorry I misread that would have been sufficient) and gave me food items that are seemingly not a big deal to most people and wouldn't be if they didn't come out practically the same size despite being chewed, they went in due to reasons best left unsaid on social media and he completely told me oh well the item is part of the quesadilla order. Unfortunately yelp wont let me post a picture with the review to back it up but its really bothersome to me that I can select a meal that I want modify the ingredients how I want (and in my case need medically although thats not deadly to me just uncomfortable given the size of the food item and how its cut) and other items make their way into my order. Don't get me wrong the food item would taste great it is weren't a mammoth bite and I actually processed it. Perhaps the most offensive part is yes i have the luxury of being able to pay the price for the food so i did but there are so many people that are unable to feed themselves and literally dont know when they will get a basic meal again and here I am throwing away an ingredient that maybe one of the people would have liked to enjoy (Because i cant eat it) read more

It's one of my favorite spots for lunch in town. It was the first place I got lunch when I started my job! I love that the chicken burrito is a fast lunch. It seriously comes out in less than 5 minutes. Sometimes I opt to do it as a bowl. (Something in my brain thinks this is healthier... I dunno...) I LOVE the house made Limeaide. It's seriously the best limeaide I've ever had. I've had a few other things here, and it's all good, but I do find myself returning to the chicken burrito. The hot sauce is on the medium scale... But it's good. Adds a nice flavor. I wouldn't call this authentic Mexican food. It's sort of the hippy, Californian variety. The space is funky... I believe it used to be a church (As evidenced by the stained glass windows in the dining area) Everything is painted a bright green. The staff is very nice, funky and hip. We went to Mesa Verde to celebrate National Margarita Day. The young lady working was quite pleasant. We started out with Free Nachos by using a deal on the phone. $14 Had some of their delicious margaritas. My friends had bowls, which looked really good. I had tacos. I didn't love them, but everything else was great. This place is a hold in the wall, but it's consistently good. Definitely have a margarita if you go. So much better than a chain! read more

I was highly disappointed. I saw the high reviews and thought I would give them a try. First of all the curb appeal is disgusting outside the kitchen door which is next to entrance was a mess. I should have turned around then. The inside is cluttered and messy. I was greeted by a unenthusiastic staff member. I ordered a Mojo pulled pork burrito or should I say Mexican rice burrito. Wrapped in aluminum foil on a little plate. And as soon as I unwrapped it it opened up and became a mess. It was tasteless and bland. I ate half of it and through the rest away. A solid ok. This is very good quality food. But, it seems they have been going light on the seasoning for about four years now. I wouldn't go to Greenfield just for Mesa Verde, but if you're in the area I highly recommend dropping by. I've had all kinds of stuff from them. Everything has been good. Sometimes, amazing. We went on 8/1/2020. Clearly, everybody is still dealing with social distancing and masks. They seem to have a good method in place. Thankfully, there weren't a lot of people there or that method would have fallen apart just do the available space. Service and food prep was fast. The food was good as always. There were two of us. So my dining companions LOVED this place. I was a a little more reserved and thus the four stars. But there is a lot to like. You order at the counter but the food gets delivered to your table. We ordered some chips and salsa and guacamole to start. Great guacamole but the salsa was very heavy in garlic. Almost like a gazpacho. I got a buffalo chicken burrito. Good ingredients but it fell apart while eating. The roasted vegetable bowl was a big hit with my wife who though it had great fresh veggies and a healthy portion. Kids loved their quesadillas. When I see 4 stars for a restaurant I'd like to think there's a true consensus but not here. This is not Mexican food. Both the reviewers and restaurant owners need to get out more... like maybe to Mexico and see what Mexican food really is. Like I've many versions of tortilla soup throughout the Yucatán what I got here was tomato soup of sorts with mozzarella and tortilla chips. It seems like it's the same as the salsa. Was looking for a restaurant that served vegetarian dishes as well as non vegetarian and this place cropped up. Unassuming location in downtown Greenfield, causal dining inside and outdoors. My companion is a very non adventurous vegetarian, but he decided to try based on their tofu options. We ordered chips and salsa to start and he ordered the roasted veggie chipotle tacos and I ordered the mojo chipotle tacos. We were both impressed with the salsa, which didn't have the salty yet bland taste I've found in many restaurants. It was mild enough for my friend but had enough flavor to appeal to me. When our tacos arrived, we were both surprised by how much filling they had. They also came with rice. I was not impressed with the rice, but honestly it didn't matter because once I bit into my mojo taco, I couldn't wait to take another bite. The meat was wonderfully seasoned and juicy and although I added cheese, I discovered it was unnecessary. The veggie taco had crispy cubes of tofu and was loaded with vegetables. Both meals were very satisfying and had two tacos along with the rice. Mesa Verde has plenty of seating and a large variety of items to order as well as alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. Parking was easy to find because it was a weekday well after the lunch rush and before dinner. I highly recommend the mojo chipotle tacos and hope to visit again when I'm back in the area. I gave Mesa Verde a four star review instead of five only because of the rice, but that is a personal preference. Honestly, those tacos were delicious and very satisfying. read more

I always get the chorizo bowl. Best chorizo, they make it in house and I can smell the cinnamon. Their salsa got too picante for me a few years ago suddenly. Got two burritos and both were overfilled with rice and beans then protein. Barely any pork or chicken. Disappointed

The food was good here. I was warned they use a lot of cilantro so I added sour cream to my burrito to offset that and it came out well. The portion was generous and filling. I scoped out the route here beforehand but had trouble finding the restaurant. There is no sign on Fiske. Instead every street in the area coming off Main is labelled Gfield and in very small letters underneath the actual streets that branch off these Gfields. I pulled over and plugged in my GPS and it couldn't find the street either. Finally by peering down the side streets I saw the restaurant, but when I got there could not find anywhere to park. I landed up pulling in to a spot marked No Parking Here to Street thinking since I am just picking up takeout I would be in and out, but two different customers ahead of me had trouble getting the card reader to work. After these delays my food was no longer hot. Apparently they don't have any warming device. Not wanting to be ticketed or towed I drove off and found another business's parking lot where I could sit and eat my now even more tepid food. If you are not familiar with the area and get around by car try Cielito Lindo the next town over in Gill for more accessible Mexican food. My rating is 2 1/2 stars but since they did ask if I wanted a napkin instead of assuming I am rounding that up to a 3. read more

Tried out this place out on a recommendation from my step-brother. I walked in and loved the colors of the decor. The menu is well placed behind the counter you order from. I got the steak fajita bowl. The sign said $8.50 but I was only charged the chicken or tofu price. Don't mind saving a $1. It takes place of the 25¢ I had to pay for the parking. Plenty of seats to choose from. Food came out very quickly and the gentleman brought it right to me. I asked for a glass of ice water and he said the water was in the dining room in the middle but I'd be more then happy to get you a glass of ice. Make sure to grab your utensils in the middle of the room, right next to the water. Overall very good. A little upset there was no hard shell tacos but it's ok. My husband and I just stopped here for lunch today after an absence of several years. We used to go pretty frequently when we lived in Greenfield about 10 years ago and we remember it as being quite good. It must now either: 1) be under new ownership, or 2) the owner just doesn't care any more. My bowl with fried tofu and roasted veggies was awful. The roasted veggies consisted almost entirely of bell pepper with a single small piece of zucchini, and the fried tofu was hard and dry (almost inedible). The tofu was more reminiscent of bland, tasteless croutons. It was as if it was fried last week and then left on a shelf until I placed my order today. My husband's enchilada was also very bland. The refried beans had a strange, firm consistency, looking as if they had just been scooped out of a can. There were a few darkish blobs in the refried beans that were unidentifiable and he put those to the side. The chicken was tasteless and didn't appear to be grilled as was requested. The chips were stale and bland as well. The salsa was like tomato paste. The interior of the restaurant appeared somewhat dirty and unattended to. The dirty bus bin was overflowing. On the plus side, the employee behind the counter was pleasant and friendly. The only reason we're giving a score as high as 1 is that the diet coke was good. read more
