I've been getting their tacos for years, never disappointed (Sometime a little too salty) but always chock full of stuff. I got my usual, one chicken and one steak, yesterday, from the Northampton site. The only thing that could make Bueno Y Sano better would be for them to open in the Hartford area so I didn't have to drive so far for their amazing food. I came here for the first time a couple years ago after taking a class where the professor of that class turned out to be the owner of Bueno Y Sano. He seems like a very humble dude and genuinely cares about his customers and employees. The food that is served at Bueno Y Sano is just top tier. I got the smoked brisket burrito and when I had cut it in half, it just looked heavenly. The taste was also amazing and I would definitely get it again. I also got some fish tacos which I unfortunately devoured within seconds and didn't get a chance to take a picture of. I've been going to Bueno Y Sano in Amherst since 2014. This is by far one of my dearest memories of the two times I've lived in Amherst and I make it a point to go there every time I'm in mass. When you get there and look at the menu, you might be influenced by your friends to take some of the "Chipotle equivalent" options, like the burrito or a bowl. Don't do that! Go for a nice quesadilla with beans, rice and salsa, instead. Just spread the sour cream next to the beans on the plate (it's nicer to eat there, not to go, trust me) and then proceed to dip the quesadilla into the salsa and the hot sauce. Take a bite and then bring the bean and rice goodness to your palates (remember the sour cream). If this guided routine does not bring you to a moment you might want to revisit for the rest of your life, I owe you a subway sandwich right next door. read more

My fish taco was amazing: Crispy on the outside still juicy on the inside. The vegetables were fresh and crisp and the salsa had a nice bite. The grilled chicken salad was full and steaming and really, really good. This is the perfect little drop-in spot inexpensive and delicious food. If we lived here we would be regulars. Bueno Y Sano is a solid go-to when I am in the Amherst area. I love that they offer lots of vegetarian/vegan options, and their grilled bbq seitan is my favorite! Their burritos/bowls are so customizable, there are no limits to the combinations and creative yummy-ness! The staff are friendly, and service is quick. I've started using their app to order ahead, so I can walk in and grab my ready-to-go food. The to-go orders are labeled and you can just grab and go (don't have to wait in line or anything). There is not a lot about Bueno that is dazzling or that you can't get elsewhere, but it's been a local establishment for decades, and it is truly a community business. The food is good, the menu selection allows you to meet all dietary needs (and picky kids), and I love supporting local businesses. I've been eating at Bueno Y Sano for years I always get the chicken burrito bowl and continued to do so because it was made with chicken breast meat. Well recently at the West Springfield location and I don't know if it is the case at the other locations they are now doing a mix of white and dark meat which is mixed together. I absolutely despise dark meat and was told by someone who works there that they cannot be separate. So unfortunately I will not be eating there anymore and must say that this is very disappointing especially considering that they have recently raised their prices while simultaneously lowering the quality of their food!!!!! read more

Great little place tucked in the alleyway in downtown Amherst. You order food and then go sit down and eat. They got my order wrong. I got a Bowl when I asked for a burrito but I didn't complain. The Bowl turned out to be really good. We got the Buffalo chicken bowl and Thai burrito which came out as a Bowl. Chips and guacamole are super cheap!!!! And very good. If you are extremely hungry or intoxicated this burrito is average! Sadly, i had the pleasure of eating one of these things without those impairments. The burrito lacked the synergy you expect when combining lettuce, pico, with warm chicken, beans and cheese then locking that in a firmly wrapped flour tortilla. You are not missing much here many of my "best thing I ever ate" visits are far from good or they are over priced fancy places we can't even get in to without a tie and jacket! When I ordered the chicken Thai peanut sauce burrito asked about the rice and beans "what does it come with"? The answer lead me to believe it was in the side. it wasn't and I also didn't get my roasted Jalepenos which I thought were a side order, nothing is made clear. The chicken was overcooked cubes very dry and kind of sparse there was a ton of rice and no Cilantro. Dude!!! C'mon cilantro ales the burrito and Thai world go round! Overall my meal was a disappointment. The dining room was clean and had plenty of room. There's even a disco ball, go figure. You walk up, order, wait for an eternity for pre cooked food to be rolled by the one guy, then go sit and stuff this football sized mammoth down the food hole!
