    Pupusas - revueltas

Cute place with good, friendly service. They started with the chips & salsa (needed a bit more of a kick personally) and then ordered. We had the chicken tamal, pupusas revueltas, and lengua tacos with baja (lettuce & pico de gallo). Everything was okay except the lengua meat, which was superb.

I LOVE El Comalito!! They have a huge menu, so there is definitely something for everyone. They even have chicken fingers and fries for people who might not like El Salvadoran food. It's so cute and colorful inside, with plenty of seating and a full bar. I always get pupusas when I come because they make them fresh, and I love the spicy pickled cabbage it comes with. The pupusas take about 20 minutes to make, but even then everything came out pretty quickly. The margaritas are so good and come in so many flavors! I got the passion fruit this time but I've also had the pineapple and hibiscus in the past. They recently added sopes to their menu so I had to try them. I got the veggie version which was absolutely loaded up! Mushrooms, peppers, onions, broccoli, lettuce, cheese. My only tiny complaint is that I wish the broccoli was cut into smaller pieces so it is easier to get a bite with a little of everything. I would definitely come back and I highly recommend checking this place out!

You can get a LOT of food for a good price! The chicken tacos were probably my favorite and were really filling, especially for being just $9.49. As a heads up, they do provide free chips and salsa but only after you order (we didn't know and ordered a huge appetizer that we had to bring home afterwards). The location is the only drawback. We went for dinner and it felt disconcerting to drive through large fields of grass to arrive at a run down looking gas station. The restaurant building itself is adorable and warm looking but the path to getting there did have me doubting myself a little. Regardless, you should still make the trip as the food and service more than makes up for the slightly scary location (at least at night).

This is the first Mexican restaurant that did NOT have chimichangas on the menu. It does cater to the college set, extensive burrito choices. I ordered the fajitas dish. They were quick and hot. Good quantity, took a box home. I wasn't crazy for their refried beans, they were soupy. Didn't care for the salsa that came with the chips either. Their rice was great, along with the fajitas! It was a chilly January afternoon and I noticed they were using a space heater in the dining area. It was comfortable enough to eat in.

Best Mexican/salvadorean food in town! The mole is delicious, as are the pupusas. Portions are generous.

The other diners in the room were literally YELLING to each other the whole meal. My ears were ringing the whole drive home. If it's busy be sure to eat in the larger, quieter first dining room to avoid hearing damage. Seriously.

Step…read morethrough the door and downstairs into the colorful and brightly lit restaurant with interesting decor. Comfortable booths and "nook-like" seating arrangements make it a lovely place to be with family and hear each other. The menu was organized well, with clear descriptions of the food. Unfortunately, NO CHIPS AND SALSA pre-meal automatically knocks a star off of the review. All of the dinners came out very quickly, and while the squirt bottle sour cream looks cool, it's just not as tasty as a big dollop on the side so maybe rethink that? Everything tasted delicious, and I always love a good enchilada sauce. Some people might complain that there wasn't enough heat to the meal, but I don't mind mild Mexican food. There were some interesting cocktails, but many made with a prefab mix, that I don't usually go for, so I opted for the Cadillac margarita which was quite delicious. Going back to the menu, one of the nice things, is that when you travel with people with dietary restrictions, they have bowl options to the burritos and you can use a combination of things that are easily picked out. This is perfect for people that like the Chipotle experience without the fast food atmosphere. Bueno!
