I called the restaurant immediately to explain what happened and try to find a solution. The person in charge was not interested in hearing any of it. He kept insisting I had canceled the order, blamed me repeatedly, and refused to move past that point no matter how clearly I explained the situation. He eventually got rude and hung up on me. Yes, he actually hung up. When a restaurant chooses to partner with DoorDash, they take on some responsibility for how delivery problems get handled, particularly on large orders. The right response is not to interrogate and blame the customer while a ready order sits on the counter. There was no attempt to help, no offer to make it right, just defensiveness from start to finish. We ended the night with nothing. A large group of people, no food, and an experience that left us worse off than if we had never ordered at all. If something goes wrong with your order, this is how Che Empanadas will treat you. We will not be ordering from them again, and I would strongly encourage others to think twice before doing so.

I wanted to try a sampling of what Dos Tacos had to offer, so I went with a carnitas taco and a chicharron pupusa. The carnitas taco was a 3/5, the pork was tender but not terribly flavorful and the salsa served with it was more vinegary than spicy or savory. The pupusa on the other hand was a definite 5/5. In Salvadoran cuisine, chicharron is is a paste of seasoned pork and Dos Tacos does a really amazing job making their's. It's spicy without being overwhelmingly so and the texture goes perfectly with the thick, clearly hand made tortilla that it's stuffed inside. Dos Tacos is a worthy addition to the emerging Pleasant Street restaurant scene and is definitely worth the trip for the fantastic pupusas. If they can up their carnitas game, it'll definitely be worth a 5 star review.

And a steak fajita - both were very very good. The fajita had a great flavor, hot and piled high with peppers and onions. The steak slices were tender and delicious too - I will put out there that might be the only "con" it, in my opinion, could've done with 3 or 4 more slices of steak. However there is an epic amount of the peppers and onion which I 100% appreciate. Our waitress was so friendly and top notch. Accommodating and available without hovering. Food was delicious, service wonderful and atmosphere comfortable (sans loud music ha ha) The prices seem to be higher than other Mexican places - ie. The fajita was $21 and usually I'd venture to say that's the shrimp or combo cost, not steak or chicken. So overall they are about $3 higher.
