The spicy chorizo had a noticeable slight pepper to it, the chicken mushroom was fun with bechamel and the beef with cheese and bacon reminded me of a great Philly cheesesteak. The spinach was surprising in its deep flavor and light flaky crust. Definitely worth trying! The kind woman who helped us was pleasant, knowledgeable, and promptly prepared everything. I called the restaurant immediately to explain what happened and try to find a solution. The person in charge was not interested in hearing any of it. He kept insisting I had canceled the order, blamed me repeatedly, and refused to move past that point no matter how clearly I explained the situation. He eventually got rude and hung up on me. Yes, he actually hung up. When a restaurant chooses to partner with DoorDash, they take on some responsibility for how delivery problems get handled, particularly on large orders. The right response is not to interrogate and blame the customer while a ready order sits on the counter. There was no attempt to help, no offer to make it right, just defensiveness from start to finish. We ended the night with nothing. A large group of people, no food, and an experience that left us worse off than if we had never ordered at all. If something goes wrong with your order, this is how Che Empanadas will treat you. We will not be ordering from them again, and I would strongly encourage others to think twice before doing so.

Unexpected Lunch Stop - Worth It!…read more I wasn't planning on eating here yesterday, but with the holiday, a few of my favorite spots were closed. Since I was in the neighborhood and short on time, I decided to stop in for a quick lunch--and I'm glad I did! The service was fast and efficient. They give you a generous portion for a great price, and if you're dining in, the staff even brings your food right to the table, which was a nice touch. I REALLY wanted some Dominican food this evening! I looked around on my way back from Newport RI,…read moreback to MA, and this place was open and it had decent ratings. When I arrived, there was a very sweet older lady at the counter who greeted me. I knew I wanted to get food to go so I was kind of in a rush due to being tired from the ride. I ordered chicken breast, yellow rice with beans and sweet plantains. The woman (the hunger in me did not allow me to ask what her name was) took my order and said that the chicken and plantains would take a few minutes because they had to be cooked. Which was ok with me; I did desire fresh food. The food was cooked in no time. The woman was so sweet because she didn't charge me extra when I changed my white rice to yellow rice - I did leave a nice tip though. Fast forward to when I got home to eat: the food was FREAKING AMAZING! And, it was plentiful! Enough for leftovers for tomorrow! If I could give 10 stars, I would have! It was probably some of the best Dominican food I'd ever had! I will be back! The physical place itself is basically no-frills but the food makes up for all of that! 5 stars!
