We tried cafe Reyes for breakfast and we were not disappointed. You walk in to a quaint restaurant that is decorated in bright island colors. The staff is very welcoming and helpful when choosing from the menu. We started with coffee made with condensed milk. It was creamy and lightly sweet. It was very smooth and enjoyable. It took a little while to come out and wasn't super hot but it was a nice cup of coffee. Next we tried the chorizo empanada. It was very crisp and flavorful although a little greasy from the sausage. Still a nice bite. Yuca fries were up next. I dislike yuca and was hesitant to try it but I did and it didn't disappoint. It came with a garlic aioli and topped with onions and possibly a vinegar sauce. They were so delicious. Crisp outside and soft inside. Defiantly something to try. Finally we shared the breakfast Cuban. Piled up with ham, pork, egg and cheese with mayo and mustard. It was delicious. Mild and a little Smokey. It was great. This loaded mariquitas, weren't really skinny mariquitas . it has a spoon a table spoon of meat and american cheeses melted. I think of they actually loaded it with tomatoes, onios, cilantro some type of sauce I wouldn't have mind the lack of meat, and perhaps a diffrent cheese. We all have bad days. We hired Reyes Cafe to cater the graduation for our Training Program. As an Addiction Counselor Education Program, we are excited to support the mission of Cafe Reyes. We held our event at the Mechanic Hall in Worcester on June 21, 2025. Our list of guests grew to 300 people, and we had to make adjustments to our order. Wilmer was accommodating, flexible and willing to discuss menu items to meet the diversity of our group. Our guests were extremely happy with the food and the service. They arrived nice and early for set up and provided exceptional service. The fact that the program supports the needs of Latino men in Recovery was the icing on the cake. While I recommend patience with the communication given how busy they are given they are a small restaurant, I highly encourage you to consider them for your next event. I cannot say enough about Cafe Reyes! This gem is 100% authentic. Food is FANTASTIC. Gilbert was our excellent and attentive server (ask for him and make sure you tip well!) Service, unlike many Hispanic and Latino joints in the area, is bilingual and outstanding. So if you don't speak Spanish do NOT worry! English is easily understood and spoken. Have a seat! There is ample space here and you can choose to sit either indoors or outside. The interior is brilliantly colored, much like you would find in Cuba, Puerto Rico and the islands, and felt so sunny and happy! I would absolutely recommend the Ropa Vieja. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, full of flavor, and plentiful. It arrived with a side of white rice, sweet, ripe plantains and fresh black beans. The presentation was EVERYTHING! I've visited twice, and I must warn potential patrons... service is slow. Be prepared to wait. It's usually busy and you may begin to get antsy waiting for your food. I was impressed by Cafe Reyes! I came here for breakfast and got a croquetas and a tostada with cafe con leche. The croquetas were interesting, very bell pepper-y, but they were good. The breading looked slightly thick, but turned out to be a good crunch and not too thick. The tostada was also very good. I am used to the bread kept in one piece and buttered & pressed, but the flavor was there despite looking different! I was also impressed by what seemed to be actual Cuban bread! I have not been able to find Cuban bread ANYWHERE in Boston & surroundings - restaurants, bakeries, or grocery stores. The decor in here was very cute, lots of "Cuba" decor which I loved. The Cuban sandwich is really nice! A generous portion on Cuban style bread with flavorful fillings. But I really want to give a big shout out and thank you to the staff. I ordered online, and when I finally opened my sandwich, I saw it was not the Cuban sandwich I thought I had ordered. I went back, thinking it was their mistake, but a quick check of GrubHub, showed the mistake was really mine. Despite this embarrassing error on my part, the staff happily replaced my item with the Cuban sandwich I craved, and at no charge (and with a smile, and "everyone makes mistakes"). I've been wanting to stop by for long time and finally had the opportunity. The decor was very bright and colorful, the place was very clean. My wife and I started with coffee. I'm picky about coffee, I really like strong coffee. The coffee here was very good and had a nice strong flavor. My wife adds cream to her coffee and was pleasantly surprised that they actually heat up the creamer so it won't cool down your coffee. I ordered a breakfast empanada with bacon and a breakfast Cuban sandwich, my wife ordered a ham, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. The Cuban sandwich was delicious, it's a very big sandwich and can easily be shared but I scarfed down the whole thing myself. The bread was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The egg really complimented the pork and ham. An excellent sandwich that I will get again. My wife had a ham, egg and cheese sandwich. Again, the bread was so fresh that it made the sandwich perfect. This is an interesting concept ... A halfway house training restaurant for Latin American men in a substance abuse/drug treatment program. I like it because you can do some good while eating tasty Cuban food. Nobody would ever mistake grungy Shrewsbury Street for Little Havana but once you step inside Cafe Reyes, you feel like you walked into Miami for a bit. I went on a quest for the perfect Cuban sandwich while I was in Miami. The Cubano I get at Cafe Reyes is honestly as good as anything I tasted in Miami ... And I hit all the well known spots there. They have authentic Cuban coffee and espresso, which are hard to find. I wish they had decaf espresso but only caffinated espresso is available. The coffee here is good ... I don't know a single place in Worcester where you can get actual espresso like this, though. The prices are ridiculously inexpensive. A sandwich and a coffee is around $10 with tip. The sandwich is pretty big and comes with plantain chips on the side. All the servers are very nice and friendly. That was my biggest question the first time I went here. How would the staff be? Clearly, everyone who works here is happy to be a part of this restaurant. The service can be a bit slow because it is a training restaurant so the staff is learning as they go. I'm sure many of them will go on to own their own restaurant or other good things. Nobody here is going through the motions and you will feel like a valued guest here. Overall, it couldn't be any better, except for the parking situation. You might be able to find street parking if you are okay to parallel park ... Or you can park in Piccadilly Plaza a block away and walk. Plenty of outdoor seating on nice days ... The inside restaurant is cozy and clean, although a bit loud. read more

I've been wanting to try Cafe Reyes for a while and am glad I finally did today! Rich perfect cold brew. The bocadito chorizo was wild. Delicious sausage, gooey cheese, and the most incredible bread. Staff were efficient and friendly during a busy brunch hour. The decor is bright and cheerful and everything was immaculate. Can't wait to try more for lunch some time. Everything sounds wild.
