NEW Birria Tacos (Traditional Mexican stewed shredded beef) (GF)

Inside was so clean nothing on the floor no dirty tables and bathroom was clean Waiter was nice and attentive Food was DELICIOUS

Bad tiny empanada that is mostly crust
    Jeff L.

When they first opened, this location was OK, but now they are literally serving empanadas that are 1 1/2 tablespoons of filling and about 2 inches long and they are charging almost $4 per empanada. The flavors inside of the empanada are not as good as it as they used to be and you can't even appreciate them because of the tiny amount and the ratio of dough to filling. Huge disappointment and waste of money.

My boyfriend and I love El Comalito. Have been here a couple times and we love their margaritas!! For food we love their enchiladas rojas and fried sweet plantains. This place is a must try!! The staff is very nice and attentive as well.

Easthampton previously had one very mediocre Mexican restaurant in town. That is now gone and several new places are opening, this Salvadoran/Mexican restaurant being the first. I honestly don't need another. Yes, the first week had some service growing pains. When a new restaurant opens in Easthampton, it gets swarmed. Mistakes were made and service was very slow. But they recognized this and temporarily reduced their hours until they could handle the crowds. Our trip back tonight was a terrific experience all around. When we arrived, there were no tables so they seated us at the bar and let us order while we waited for a table. The bartender took our orders and made us some fantastic mojitos. We would have been fine staying at the bar but we went to a table when one opened up. Service was prompt and accurate. Having eaten at their Amherst location before, the food is exactly what I was expecting which is all delicious. The only reason we didn't go to that location more often was the location; it just wasn't super convenient for us here in Easthampton. But now they are so close and I expect we'll be eating there or stopping in for a drink at the bar way more often. Welcome to Easthampton!

Yummy food and the staff are always friendly. The mix of Mexican and el Salvadoran food is such a good combo. One of my favorites places!

Love the food, which is consistently good. The chicken mole and chicken fajitas especially.

If you're ordering drinks, they usually will call your drink out at the bar. I was surprised that they didn't have chips n salsa as a complimentary snack for the table while the food is being made. I'm assuming it's due to this not really being a seated restaurant, where a server takes down your order. They have chips n guac available for purchase. The guac actually tastes delicious. I ordered la Sopa Azteca, it wasn't too bad...if you don't like too many oils in your soup I wouldn't purchase. I ordered the Plato Durango for my entree, as well as a side of rice, and to be honest, the entree wasn't even that warm when it was brought to me. I didn't enjoy it much. It's also incredibly expensive, my meal was $35 for just the soup, rice, and entree.

If you want good, authentic Mexican, go somewhere else. Let's start with the chips. They were cold,…read moreand they even charged for them. The salsa, while having a large variety, all lacked in flavor, seasoning, and spice. The chicken enchiladas tasted like water somehow. They are made with corn tortillas that just fell apart at just the first bite. The burrito bowl was the saddest thing I have ever seen. I mean, it was simply lettuce and chicken with unmelted, cold queso. The Pollo Ala Veracruzana was DRY. DRY. The tortillas were not properly warmed and felt like it had been sitting for a while. For our shrimp cocktail, it was too thick with not enough juice, filled with more onions than shrimp. On top of that, they gave us tortilla chips rather than saltine crackers. The seating was awful inside, and everything just felt off. However, they somehow perfected the rice.
