If you love inauthentic, bland, dry food at ludicrously high prices, and have a hankering for piles of generic shredded lettuce, this is your spot! I always order the mix veggie grill burrito with brown rice and a whole wheat tortilla and it's always fresh and delicious. - filling but I always feel like my meal is healthy! I love Bueno Y Saño! Holy crap. It's like Chipotle but it's a local chain and won't destroy your GI tract. They've got a full range of menu items and include items that are vegetarian and vegan. Their bean burritos are huge and *chef kiss* Their tacos are *chef kiss* The salsa bar is *chef kiss* Plenty of indoor seating, fun decor (hello disco ball!), and some outdoor seating in front of the shop for those nice weather days. And they've got bar still seating where you can even watch your food being made! The portions are great size, too. Their burritos often lasts me for two meals. And the fish tacos are phenomenal. Everything I've had has been really great. Highly recommend. There are a few different Mexican food places in NoHo, but none better than Bueno Y Saño. read more

I like the little weird flair that bueno y sano brings to burritos. I had the brisket burrito and it was a delicious experience especially on the road trip that I was on. The free salsas are also amazing and I think my favorites are the hot and the pico de gallo. The guac is good, I love that they do free guac on Tuesdays! People are real nice, The Establishment is real cute, and you can go on a little shopping trip in the neighborhood. read more

I'm from Arizona, so I know good, authentic Mexican cuisine. Bueno y Sano is definitely not authentic Mexican BUT it slaps nevertheless. This restaurant is delicious and satisfied my quesadilla and bean burrito craving. The chicken quesadilla is easily a top 5 quesadilla in my book. The restaurant also offers a comprehensive and complementary salsa bar that has a little something for everyone. The Salsa is excellent!! I was disappointed. While the meat was flavorful the presentation was dismal. Ordered a soft taco but not sure if what I got was a case of they ran out of supplies or some cultural fusion or twist. Either way it was disappointing. Serving everything on a plain red plate?? Not a lot of vision there. Hubby had a local beef burrito, he liked it. I tasted it, got a lot of tomato taste which I don't like. It didn't seem as flavorful as the meat on my taco. The restaurant was dirty, I saw a girl come out with a rag and wipe crumbs on the floor and go back to the back? No sweeping up? The floor was filthy. I had the Thai burrito as a bowl with tofu. It came with rice, cabbage, lettuce, and peanut sauce and was super tasty. If you're not a fan of spicy food, this option may not be the best for you as it was plenty spicy. I'd definitely go back and try some of the other options on the menu. read more

The food here is average, but that is not my chief complaint. The service at this restaurant is reprehensible, with very little oversight or supervision provided the kitchen/counter help. As a longtime resident of Northampton I have heard stories from friends who have encountered any manner of rude treatment and poor service here, but I didn't believe it until I experienced it myself. During a recent dining experience I observed what I can only describe as the restaurant kitchen staff and counter help behaving like a gang of thugs toward the customers in the restaurant. Staff in the kitchen were dropping pans and metal bowls deliberately onto the floor - apparently in retaliation to a young mother (with her baby) who had complained about the noise they had been making. When several other customers approached the counter to seek explanation for the near riot in the kitchen, they were met with blank stares followed by mocking gestures and vulgar language spoken in Spanish to the English speaking customers. I hurried to finish my dinner and leave quickly and saw a one man speaking with a man he said was the owner. This brave customer was speaking up in defense of the treatment of this young mother (and the rest of us customers) but the man who was supposedly the owner just laughed in his face. I will not go back here again - and I would say it is hardly suitable for families or kids (or anyone who wants to dine in an environment where the customer is treated respectfully and decently). read more

So I've been here twice so far, because after my first experience I wanted to give them a second chance. So try one they forgot to add cheese to my order which we didn't notice until after we got home :( and unfortunately the taste wasn't really good enough on its own. Anytime I'm visiting friends or family in this area, I always plan on visiting this great burrito spot. The food here is just too awesome! These are my favorite burritos! Make sure you get your burrito grande and if it's too much then you can save it for a meal later on. I would go here every day if I still lived in the area. read more

I'm kinda torn about the review of this place. There's so much right with this place. Good chips for $1, great little salsas, good quality wraps. Seems better, than Chipotle. And yet, the prices aren't cheap (not expensive, mind you) and I left the fish taco feeling a little underwhelmed. My kids felt the same way with quesadillas. Established in 1995.

Bueno Y Sano started as an idea in the mind of Bob Lowry, a UMass grad. With a little help from his family and friends he set out to make Bueno's the best burrito place around. It worked. Since the beginning, Bueno Y Sano serves burritos, quesadillas, tacos and salads that are worth coming back for, as often as possible. After several years, Bob decided to open a Bueno Y Sano in Northampton. Then, in 2007 Bob's brother Will opened a Bueno's in Burlington, Vermont. In 2009, Rolando Saravia, who has worked with Bob for many years, opened a Bueno's in Springfield MA. Bueno Y Sano is grateful for the many students and residents who have remained loyal customers over the years. Wherever they go, they remember Bueno's!

Bob Lowry is the founder and owner of Bueno Y Sano in Amherst and Northampton. He also teaches classes at the University of Massachusetts School of Management as part of the Entrepreneurial Initiative (EI). He loves teaching and he's always interested in new ideas. The male server seemed bothered having to wait for our decision and even sent the other waitress to take our order. Throughout the entire experience, it seemed like a chore to tend to us. As for the food, it looks MUCH better than it tastes. Don't let the beauty of the sopes cover its lack of seasoning. The tomatillo salsa on the enchiladas was incredibly lime-y, the chicken dry, and the rice felt straight from the box. As we were finishing up, we could see and feel the eyes of the servers "patiently" waiting to give us the bill. Oh, FYI, there is a charge if you use credit card charge. At least they had GF enchiladas.

The Sopes were nice and crispy, the Al Pastor was amazing, the spicy sauce was amazing, the pupusas tasted so good and the curtido morado was my favorite part. The staff were really nice and helpful and the place was very cute and cozy inside! Don't believe the wack ass white people hating on this place who say they're experts on tacos or pupusas cause they don't know jack. Would recommend it to anybody close or far! Will definitely come back when I visit again.
