After they misplaced a dress on my last visit, I was surprised I trusted them again to bring in 2 more dresses today. The owner greeted me and after writing up my ticket, informed me it would be $12. I asked him if he had change for $100 and he said not this early in the day. He said I could pay with a credit card, that they charge a surcharge for. Not wanting to pay that, I asked if I could just pay when I pick up the items, which I have done in the past. He refused, saying the money never gets collected and he ends up losing money. He left me zero options to utilize his business, other than paying more to get my items drycleaned. And he didn't seem to care less when I told them I would just take them somewhere else. Considering dry cleaners are a dime a dozen, he certainly enforces his pre-paid policy and doesn't make it easy to do so. read more

Unfortunately I've been coming here for years. Over the years it's been hit and miss. Appears that they got a new credit/debit card machine that charges an Admin Fee which I was told was the tax. Well that can't possibly be true as the fee is 4%. Also, there is not indication that you will charged a fee, it just automatically does it. I remember when Meridian just opened. The local cleaners right on our neighborhood. Great owners, friendly staff, great prices. Even when we moved we find ourselves still coming back. Yes, years later and still our preferred cleaners. Like any business, we've had an "incident" or two. What I really appreciated is that they always made things right. And that's why we keep coming back! The only issue I would implore the owners to implement a through training program. New people don't always know how to sort clothes and it's not always a matter of reading the tabs. I went to Meridian cleaners on January 2nd to get my brother's suit cleaned. He had just passed away and we were going to bury him in it. When I got there to drop the suit off I was overwhelmed with grief and was crying. The owner happened to wait on me (I forgot her name). She was really kind and compassionate. She assured me that she would have my brother's suit ready the next day and for free. The next day I came back and the suit was ready and looked perfect. The man who waited on me was aware of my situation and offered his condolences. Sometimes it's the little things in life that make all the difference in the world! But under closer inspection which resulted in my smelling said sweater, I wanted to vomit. it smells like curry, I like to eat food with curry sometimes but my expensive sweater? I'm so disappointed. The meet the expected need date and they do a great job with ensuring high quality of service with every visit. If dropped of items that needed buttons and it took an extra day or so; but is was done correctly and on the promise date. The only problem I have is they are not close to my house. I've been using this cleaners for the past 10 years and has always had my clothes returned backed without any issues. Recently, I brought in a white lab coat with overuse & ink stains. OK, I do not usually write reviews for cleaners but I have to tell you what happened to me. I dropped off my dress pants so I can attend my nephews wedding this month. The next day I got a call that they lost my pants! These particular slacks matched my suit coat and it is my only suit! Needless to say I was unhappy but the owner reassured me they would replace them if they couldn't find them. About a week went by and the pants were still missing. My wife took me shopping, which is like pulling teeth to me, and we're tried to match a new pair of pants to the suit coat. We found a pair on a Tuesday and found out there was a sale on Thursday. So we waited to purchase until Thursday and bought the pants with a coupon on top of the sale price. We ended up getting a pair of $120 pants for $56. I told the owner Olivia, one of the owners, and true to her word she wrote a check for $60 for the slacks. I told her that I appreciated her prompt reimbursement and she said she appreciated us waiting for the sale. Overall they turned a bad situation into a non-event. They earned my business because they made things right. The following week another customer returned my lost pants! Lol!! Olivia said not to worry about returning her check and told me I could have the pants back. I was very impressed with the way all of this was handled and I would like to give my highest recommendation to use this dry cleaners. read more

**BEWARE** I took my clothes into this place and wish at this point I would have went with my gut instinct. When I initially pulled up and parked in front of the business it looked desolate. I noticed there were no cars parked outside and the inside of the business looked bland, almost like someone was running a dry cleaning business from inside their garage. The attendant was opposite of the word. He was very cold and unwelcoming but neither here no there, I was not there to make a new friend rather only to get my clothing laundered or dry cleaned. I decided to leave approx. 8 shirts and 3 pairs of pants. I paid for the items to be cleaned believing that once I paid for a service it would be done with no other questions. I went back the next day and picked the items up. I should have checked my clothes right then and there. My fault on that one and it won't happen again. I went home started to take my clothes out from under the neat plastic wrapping that dry cleaners always place your clothes in after the have been laundered or dry cleaned. I quickly realized that my shirts were still MUSTY (embarrassing to admit but I sweat when I work) and one of my work dress shirts still had a sweat stain with the salt ring and all clearly in the arm pit area of the shirt. I was heated and started looking closer at my other clothes and shirts and would put my pay check on the belief/factual basis that my clothes were not cleaned but rather made to look like they had been. I was infuriated an called my wife into the room and she confirmed my suspicion. I feel really upset because I paid the cleaners my hard earned money to perform a service and I feel like I was ripped off an seriously deceived. I'm going to call this morning because I had to be into work by 6am so I did not have the luxury to take all my clothes back this am. Make no mistake about it I will never again use that dry cleaners. I will be writing a detailed letter to the BBB. I think there should be honor with business/es that provide such a service. Realistically, 2.5 stars... If you just need your standard shirts and slacks (no premium fabrics) cleaned quickly and cheaply, this is your place. My husband has had several of these types of items cleaned here with no problem. However, if you're looking to get something more delicate cleaned, I wouldn't recommend this place. I wanted to get a couple of dresses cleaned, but one has a little bit of beadwork and one is strapless and has that rubbery/plastic lining on the inside. In both cases, the attendant said that I would need to sign off on a no-liability clause in the event that the beads broke off or the rubber/plastic melted. Ummm... huh? I've never had to do that to get these particular dresses cleaned at other cleaners. No thanks! I'm not taking any chances. I'll go elsewhere to get them done properly and with no damage. read more

The prices are good and they do a nice job cleaning but I'm pretty sure that they don't press anything, although I did see a clothes press when I was there. Maybe it was decoration? Plus side, they can have your items done the same day if you bring them in early enough. I would go back but with the expectation that I will have to put my iron to use. read more

I went to this cleaners because a neighbor had recommended them. I took in 5 Tommy Bahama type shirts , two had food spots on belly. Didn't even look like they had attempted to get them out as they were still there when I picked the shirts up. The lady at the counter "tried" to spot clean once I pointed out the spots. Nope. Not happy. Took the two shirts to Lapels Cleaners and they got both clean. Definitely won't be going back to Meridian cleaners .....don't waste your money read more

Terrible service. I brought in a suit jacket and pair of pants. The pants came back more wrinkled than when I brought them in and they ruined my suit jacket. It looks like they put the suit jacket in the washer and dryer and now it has permanent little wrinkles all over. Employees didn't try to fix it and said it would have to wait for the owner and they didn't know when he would show up. After a day of waiting I took everything to a new cleaner to salvage. I would rather pay a little more to make sure my clothes come back in one piece. Not worth it. read more

About eight years ago I decided to try Meridian Cleaners and have gone there every week since. My guess, that's somewhere over 1500 pants dry cleaned and another 1500 shirts laundered and starched. In all that time, not a single issue. (Unless you consider how much money I saved an issue.) I've never been let down on same day service - in by 10 out by 4 - great for the procrastinator. My only disappointment is that I'm moving and they don't have a store where I'm going. I will greatly miss the service I've received from Jerome and Olivia over the years. I did read over the other reviews and they appear to be from the few who have come in on a single incident and had that rare issue. Take it from a long-time customer - OUTSTANDING! read more

Bad customer service and poor cleaning. Dropped off a bed skirt to be cleaned. Asked lady if they could clean it before I paid since they require payment in advance. She said "Yes". It will be done in 7 days. Came back in 7 days, it was still in the dirty laundry basket untouched. Would me to come back. Came back 3 days later and the skirt look practically the same. Still dirty around the edges and top as if it hasn't been touched. I asked for a refund. The manager denied me said they don't do refunds. But you told me you could clean it before I paid you. Else I wouldn't have dropped it off. I asked to speak to the manager (Mike is his name) and he refused to speak to me. Will never get my business again. I guess that $14 he wouldn't refund was worth losing a customer. BTW I took it to another cleaners and they cleaned it perfectly. This place is a joke. Don't go there and waste your money. it's cheap for a reason. Maybe owner will realize, good customer service attracts more customers = more revenue that would offset any small refunds. That's not "enough said." I tried this place out because it's close to my house and it's $1.99 for a piece of clothing. I picked up my pants today and I'll assume they've been cleaned but they were more wrinkled than when I dropped them off, and what's worse, the wrinkles were PRESSED in! There's a huge crease down the inside of each pant leg and many wavy wrinkles throughout. I'm not taking a third trip out there to get them re-pressed. These people are all about customer service truthfully I was blown away at how much they bend over backwards for me. I brought in my bridesmaid's dress that had beer still down the entire front back and it was of his light champagne color. It was trashed and stained to say the least. The gal told me they will try their best and I came back and picked it up and it was an okay job. She said she turn it back in and have her manager Olivia who is the owner work on it specifically. I came back in tonight and you can hardly see the stain at least the ring around the stain has disappeared which was extremely noticeable it look like a brown marker line. I am thoroughly pleased with this company and in the end they only charged me $10 I will be bringing all of my clothing to this company. Although it is not modern and decorated extremely cute inside the customer service staff is what you really want and that's what you get. read more

Two problems: 1) Left a grease stain on a new dress uncleaned, which was the only reason I took it in. It was in the front, center of the dress... pretty hard to miss. 2) They were not gentle with a silk top I had only worn twice. Three buttons came off that were there before and the fabric thinned out and now looks like it was been torn in more than three spots on the blouse. DO NOT RISK IT. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. DO NOT USE MERIDIAN DRY CLEANERS! We brought 5 pairs of curtains there. After I hang them up, I realised that 2 pairs of curtains shrank significantly, and two other pairs were dirty and creased. I took photos and described the problem to the lady in the store. She said I would be contacted, I was waiting and nothing happened so I sent an email with the photos (before and after and all details) and said that the manager can come and look at them in person (we live 1min away from the store). The manager called and said he is not willing to come and said I would need to take all curtains down again and bring them to the shop so he can look at them (just wondering how you assess shrinkage but hey ho) - that's what I did. I did not receive an apology from this rude person until I pointed it out. He said he would wash the dirty ones again and will check if its due to the material that they shrank. I received no discount, no sincere apology nothing. In the meantime, I had to buy new curtains and asked the manager to reimburse me - he declined. He says it is not his fault. While we can debate if its his fault or not - its clearly not mine and we are VERY regular customers and had a lot of inconvenience due to it. We did not even get a discount or anything that represents good customer service and good will, instead I was being shouted at and constantly interrupted. This place is absolutely below 1 star (I couldn't give less but it deserves -5*). In a nutshell, we paid about £50 pound for the cleaning, got 2 pairs of curtains completely ruined and have to pay another £70-£90 for new curtains - I have never experienced worse customer service, congratulations! read more

So..I hardly ever write reviews for places (as you can see) and I just felt compelled to after I picked up another round of dry cleaning that was less than great to say the least. I have tried out Meridian a few times since I ive in the area. Like other Yelpers have said...great for men's shirts. My husband's shirts come out fine. Thats because they require no work. I could do it, but why? So now on to my laundry...they can not seem to iron or press my shorts on the crease for the life of them and have now managed to just make my shorts look like crap. On to the button up I took there the other day (I dont really know how this is that different from a mens shirt except it was short sleeve) well where my sleeves roll up it was not pressed and was not rolled up properly....like the person that was taking care of my shirt really had no idea what they were doing. I did just as good of a job in my bathroom the next morning with my flat iron on my shirt. On a seperate previous trip I took in a dress that said "dry clean only" after examining it for what felt like ever (it was not super nice just had some silver designs) they asked if I had it dry cleaned before and I said no, but the tag said "DRY CLEAN ONLY" they then refused to dry clean it because the silver "would come off" - Something I highly doubt as I have put it in the washer since and it has been fine. These are just a few examples of the crappy results I have had from this place....so needless to say, even though yes, they are close and yes, they are cheap I will NOT be going back. I will be going to the more expensive, further away dry cleaner that seems to know how to do their job properly. read more

The price is right, but the last set of clothes that I brought in came back looking like they weren't washed, and were just steamed and ironed. Simple stains were still there, and with one pair of slacks, I just realized that the disolving tylonol pills I had left in the pocket were still there. My daughter was getting married and I took my really nice expensive dress into this Cleaners to have it cleaned. I was a little bit scared that they were going to mess up my dress, since I had taken it to a couple other cleaners and they wanted me to sign a waiver for the beading on the dress. When I walked into this cleaners and noticed that the place was nicely kept, I was a little more at ease thinking that they were PROFESSIONALS and would take care of my dress. BOY was I totally wrong! My daughter picked up my dress and it was nicely packaged, when she looked at it, she was in shocked, she called me and told me that they had ruined my dress. She took it back to the cleaners and they told her she needed to go talk to the Manager at the Ray/Val Vista store, the Manager assured her that they would be able to fix the dress not to worry. I went down to the store the following day after a sleepless night. What a nightmare, the owner who identified himself as Jerome Shelton would not take responsibility for them ruining my dress, the beads was falling off all the sequins were melted, there was water spots everywhere on the dress, it looked like they had trampled it and walked all over it on the floor, the dress had shrunk the lining was longer than the dress. The owner was very rude, he told me that I would have to pay for the beading and for his seamstress to put it back on for me. He said that if I had prayed about it, I would not be in his store right now having that conversation with him because it was my fault my dress was ruined, he accused me of taking food out of his kids mouth and called the cops to get me thrown out of his store. The cops came, I was thrown out. It was two days before my daughters wedding he had no sympathy for the situation, I had to go shopping for another dress. If you're reading this post, please do not patronize this business, this was the WORST customer service I have ever experience people like this with no people skills should not be in business! read more
