Great service. Lapels has home pickup and delivery. They do all of our dry cleaning, wash and iron our sheets, and alterations. When I get my dry cleaning back it doesn't have that weird dry-cleaning smell. If it weren't for lapels I would have a hard time dropping off and picking up my dry cleaning and laundry as I walk with a service dog who helps me up and down curbs, over rough parking lots, and uneven sidewalks. Lapels makes my life easier. I've talked to Steve a few times. He's kind and thoughtful. It's not easy running a dry cleaning-laundry business. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! If I could give a zero, I would. STAY AWAY. They don't care if they ruin your Item(s). I brought in leather coat Jan 10th 2026. Said it takes a month as they "send it out". Ridiculous price, nearly $100. Jacket was returned sooner. I picked it up Jan 28th. It had a damaged slight tear on bottom front of jacket. Told me they'd check with Co that cleaned it and get back to me for possible discount as nothing could be done. It's damaged for good. I've called and called and keep getting told Shelly, the Mgr, only there in mornings until 10am and would call back. I've called in morning and she's never available. Vanessa kept taking message, promising Shelly will call me. Shelly has not returned any of my multiple calls. ZERO customer service skills. Up until my recent situation, I was a customer of Lapels for five year. I had a few small issues with my clothes but nothing major, like my last order. My last order consisted of 17 items for dry cleaning only. When I arrived home, I noticed all of the clothes smelled mildewed, and it was extremely bad. My schedule didn't allow me to return back to the cleaners until three weeks later. I took all of the clothes back on the hangers, in the plastic and one of the receipts attached. I simply asked them to re-clean them for free, and the manager said no, since it was outside of their normal 2 week grace period. I then asked for a refund, and they said no. To receive this type of service, and them fully knowing they were wrong is unethical, unprofessional, and disgusting behavior as a neighborhood business. I have been a loyal customer of Lapels Cleaners for over 15 years, always trusting them with my clothes and supporting their business. Unfortunately, I was recently let down in a way I never expected. For the first time, I made a special request to have a single shirt pressed and ready before noon the next day. This wasn't just any request; it was for my mom's memorial service. I explained the importance of the situation, but I was told flatly "no," with no flexibility or compassion shown. I was then given the manager's email (Shelly) and told that she checks it regularly, so it would be better than trying to call. I emailed immediately, but now three days have passed without any response at all. As a customer of 15+ years, I expected at least some effort to help or at the very least a reply. This place is absolutely awful! Had a wedding I needed my suit cleaned for. There was a small liquid stain on my coat that they said they were confident they could get out. They texted me saying the suit was ready for pick up. When I got there, they said they needed a signature on file to get the stain out and that they left a voicemail. I never got a call or voicemail from them. On top of it, they said they couldn't expedite the cleaning so that my suit would be ready for the wedding. Also cleaned my pants tho so I had to pay for the pants still even tho I had to run out and buy a new suit so I'd have something to wear. Never apologized, nothing. read more

The last time we used Lapel's services was back in September. We needed new jeans hemmed. The seamstress did a fabulous job shortening the three pairs of jeans we brought in. We were thrilled that they were finished ahead of schedule. The seamstress has always done a fabulous job. What ruined our experience was Lapels' decision to affix adhesive barcodes to the inside of the jeans along the zipper panel. We were not asked nor told that our clothing was going to be permanently marred. I have had things dry cleaned at this location over the years and never had a barcode affixed to my items. I attempted to remove the tags, but was unsuccessful. I did call Lapels and returned as I was told they could try to remove the tags. The tags did come off, but the adhesive remained. We'll never return as long as their policy is to tag everything. My survey response about my concerns were never addressed, so I can only assume management does not care. read more

My wedding dress was damaged by Lapels Dry Cleaning. I dropped off my wedding gown at their queen creek location a few weeks back. Found it odd that we had to take it out of the garment bag and put it in plastic and the young man started unzipping it right in front of my fiance which was just weird. Anyway, left it with them and paid over $200 for cleaning. It was altered the week prior and was near perfect but was a floor sample so I wanted it fresh for my wedding day. Picked up the dress and a week or so went by and thankfully I decided to try it on. In doing so I found a stain on the front of the gown, tacking was damaged that held the front of the dress up, button loops damaged, and two large runs on the chiffon dead center in the front of my dress. I brought it to a local seamstress who couldn't deal with the stain who recommended I bring it back to Lapels and hold them accountable to the damages because she was even appalled. She also told me you should never dry clean a wedding gown without being explicitly informed that dry cleaning ages a wedding gown immediately. But mistakes happen and I figured let me give them the ability to fix the problems. I called the Queen creek location and was told by the manager there that my best bet was to bring it to the "main hub" where everything is transported and speak to the GM Shelly (sp?) who was in today and would be happy to help me. Not one apology on that first phone call. I then drove from my home in San Tan Valley to the Gilbert location and asked for Shelly. Was told she was off. When I asked to have her call me personally I was told "she's busy" and I'd be dealing with Vanessa instead at the counter. Rather unhappy I reluctantly left in tears and left them with the dress. Showed her all the damage and she seemed unaware how it would be handled. Again, not one ounce of empathy or apology for the situation. The next day I called to ask about the ETA. Vanessa was nice and told me it was going to be transported to a tailor, again nervous I asked if I could myself pick it up and bring it to the tailor since I didn't trust the transport service that damaged the dress the first time. She was then having a conversation in the background with who I now know was Shelly (even though again I was told she is off) who had a massive attitude about it saying "it should be done by Friday" and that she'd be driving it to the tailor herself. Fine. Unhappy about it I figured let's see how it comes out Friday and I let it go. Today is Friday, it's 12pm and I found it odd I still hadn't been contacted about the status. When I called I was told the dress was back in Queen Creek. I would've dropped it there myself in the first place. I got angry, I used stern language and told the girl I wanted to pick it up today and that I wanted a credit for what I've spent with them or I'd take them to court. I used the F bomb, probably not nice but certainly in the circumstances I was very upset. Then Shelly picked up the phone. Interesting that now she's not off. Anyway, I was met with frustration and attitude again and told not to "abuse teenagers". For one, harsh language not directed at the employee is hardly abuse. But also, she knew my frustration, the girl took my info and went to "get more information" about the location of my dress before she got back on the phone. Shelly knew exactly who was on the phone and chose again to evade being accountable and just apologize to diffuse the situation. I find it odd that a GM would choose to be this unaccountable. I was also told the day isn't over and basically I was being irrational. I work in a business that deals with soft treatments for the home. I was excited to find Lapels and refer them to clients who may need drapery cleaned in the future. I would under no circumstances ever recommend this business. I understand mistakes happen but the way they are handled is paramount. I would seriously consider training for your GM as well as "teenage employees" that when a situation of this nature is at hand they should not be the middle men. Shelly, be accountable going forward or I'd find a new line of work. Outcome- dress was fixed as much as possible. Thank you to Maura, you were the light in the storm in this situation and very sweet. Credited the amount I paid. Unfortunately, the stress and frustration a week prior to getting married is something I cannot be repaid for. So instead, I am warning others. Being a busy professional, I enjoy the pick-up and delivery service for my dry cleaning and laundry. It just so happened that I needed a last-minute hemming of my child's pants for an event. I contacted Lapels and was pleasantly surprised when the manager, Jerry, promptly wrote back and said the master tailor would be available at the Gilbert location the next day from 10:00am to 6:00 pm. As the other alternative was to go to a location 20 miles away, I was elated to find that the location was not only 5 minutes from my house but around the corner from my office! The next day, I grabbed my large orange (competitor's) bag of dry cleaning, figured I might as well start my service with my business neighbor, the pants needing hemming and went on over to the store and asked to see the tailor. I half-enthused clerk says that she's on vacation this week and "the fill-in is wishy-washy with her time" so we have no idea when she'll be here. Wow, really? So much for the availability and customer service. I did let Jerry know that the tailor wasn't there. Never heard back. I ended up at a nearby competitor that was happy to do the work, returned the item in 24 hours and asked for my dry-cleaning business. Sold! read more

The dry cleaning part is fine, the woman that I assume is the manager is the problem. I came in and dropped off some clothes that needed stain stickers. As the cute little teenager that was taking my order, took a sticker and gave it to me, I put it on the pants where it needed to go. Immediately the woman who was helping somebody else at the time came over to her and looked her in the face and said "those stickers are for us, not for them", meaning, Me. I don't know if she was just being a jerk to the girl helping me, or she was being a jerk to me, but if I want to put a sticker on my own clothes, I should be able to do that. So once I picked up my items, I've never gone back. I thought that woman was extremely rude. This place is great if you like a terrible dry clean or pressing experience. On top of that, when they do a bad job, rather than fix it and try and make the customer happy, they argue why it's not their fault, how they could not have done it and lastly, don't care that you have been a customer for ten years. In July of this year, this store LOST 6 of my husband's custom made shirts, with custom imported fabric from Italy and personalized embroidered French cuffs with his initials on it. They also LOST my freshly tailored Free People jeans that I had made into shorts. Instead of making it right, the manager Michelle has been fighting us for MONTHS on paying us back for the damages that they cost us. We simply want to move on and we can't because this manager continues to play phone and email tag with us toying with our time and money. Now that we have our first baby on the way, the $2,000 (we have receipts from the custom tailor so this is an accurate price) in compensation for our LOST personal items would be nice to use for our nursery. read more

I never write reviews but I also have literally never had an experience where I have had an employee be so rude to me. I am never going back to this place. I went in for tailoring and was asked to come back later when a different tailor who had more experience was coming in. I came in at said time and the girl behind the counter gave me the worst attitude. I tried calling the manager to complain and got no help, I have never had anyone treat me with so much disrespect. I wish I could give this place less than one star, I will never go back to any Lapels ever again. As a side note, the tailors were super sweet it was just this girl with glasses that worked behind the desk that was literally the worst. I moved to Gilbert 4 years ago . I tried 4 other cleaners before I found Lapels 6 montha ago. I cant say enough about the way they treat me as a customer. The quality is excellent and if ever I have a problem Its handled and I even got a Follow up call from the Manager Michelle. I have to say I am greatly dissapointed with the quality of the service. I had some business shirts cleaned and pressed, so I assumed. They came back in a manner I consider, highly lacking in quality of work. The shirts were not pressed properly, there were creased along the sleeves where there shouldn't have been, they did not appear to take the time to ensure quality work, looked like I did them on an ironing board. I dropped off my garments last week with a completion date 2 days later. I put stain stickers on for the staff etc. I came in 2 calendar days after the completion date and the staff said that they were backed up and need more time.- I needed these garments for a trip and just said that I wanted my items. 7 mins later the staff says that they actually cleaned my items... all of them had the same stains on them with several new ones. They wanted to charge me for this. They didn't really do anything but make my items dirtier and now I cannot wear them for my trip. I have a spot on the front of my dress and some at the bottom of the dress. My dress was then hung up by a bustle loop and it broke my bustle. I tried it on and it doesn't fit anymore, they shrunk my dress!!! I have 2 weeks before my wedding and now I have to worry about getting it altered and cleaned AGAIN. I am so upset and disappointed. I took it back as soon as I got home and realized these spots were on the back. One of the staff members said the manager was not present and would return my call the next day. I did not hear from the manager for a few days and when she did call me she said she would not refund me at that time and didn't acknowledge that I had spoken with her employees about the situation. She told me there were cameras in the store and she would review them but I have yet to hear anything. I have called twice and been in the store once and on each occasion the employees tell me she is unavailable to talk. The employees then told me the manager "likes to put people on hold and I would probably be ignored." What kind of service is that? I would like a complete refund. I paid $200 for this service. I can't even wear my wedding dress!! I am shocked at the lack of care my dress received and disappointed that no one will resolve this issue. Requested a quote for alterations on 4 shirts, Lapels told us to bring them in for a quote. We brought them in and specifically asked them not to start job until the called us, 2 people agreed to this. After not hearing from them, we got a call saying the job was done and it was $20.00 per garment. We asked them why they did the job without calling us with a quote. The cashier was rude and said "well you could have called us." In general, she was very rude to my Wife. When we came to pick up, two of the garments had gotten dirty in Lapel's care and she asked how they got dirty. The lady simply said they would clean them but it would be $13.00 to clean two garments they made dirty in the first place. Only reason this is 2 stars instead of 1 is the lady who did the actual work was very friendly and did do very good work. Unfortunately, administrative issues and poor customer service from the cashier were so bad that we will not be returning (which is a shame because we are new to the area and needed a good place and Lapels is right by us). read more

Been using Lapels since moving to the area, they've done great job on garments, but I'm more then disappointed with my last experience! Fuming. I paid around $30 to have my expensive faux fur Pottery Barn blanket cleaned. Which was twice the price of what the cleaners on Val Vista & Ray charges, had no idea it would be this expensive because you pay when you pick up. But okay fine. I thought after I paid, it must be perfectly clean and super soft for that price! Nope. The faux fur completely toasted. Ruined it. The $150 blanket I just got for Christmas is complete trash now. Burnt the fur in many places and it's not buttery soft any more, can't even display it draped with out burn marks showing. I honestly can't believe they would even give it back in that condition without saying something and still charged me $30 for the cleaning! Do not use them for your treasured items! I can't trust them now. Must be the reason they make you sign a liability waiver for bulky items. I haven't been to this alteration person in about a year. Prior to this time, I've never had a problem. I took a brand new satin jumpsuit to her to alter for my brothers wedding.
