Saw their Yelp Award posted on-site, so I figured I'd give Island Dry Cleaners a try -- and I'm…read moreglad I did. I was thoroughly impressed. They offer a wide range of services including dry cleaning, alterations, leather & suede cleaning, rug and drape cleaning, wash & fold, and even wedding dress preservation. I brought in 2 linen shirts, 1 pair of linen pants, and 1 pair of dress pants for dry cleaning, and everything came back looking fantastic. What really stood out was the linen pants. They had a stain at the bottom of one leg that other dry cleaners either missed or couldn't remove. Island Dry Cleaners got it out without any issue. Every piece was also crisply pressed. The service was fast and friendly. I dropped everything off Tuesday morning and received a text notification Wednesday late morning saying my clothes were ready for pickup -- a full day earlier than expected. Pricing was $7.50 per item, which is a little higher than what I'm used to paying, but absolutely worth it for the level of quality and service received. I'll definitely be back.

I walked in with an armful of clothes and the guy behind the counter said, "OK, so leave your clothes here and you can pick them up after 3 p.m. tomorrow." I held on to my clothes and said, "Umm, aren't you going to give me a claim ticket?" He said, "Oh, you want a claim ticket. Ok, let me see how to write this up." Turning to another worker he said, "She wants a claim ticket, so how do I do that?" Like I said, everything turned out OK, I just thought it was a funny exchange. As if I would leave a stack of clothing with no proof that they were mine and no way to collect them. I got all of my clothes back in great shape. The bill was just short of $40 for 3 dresses, 1 skirt, 1 pair of slacks, and 2 blouses.

I decided to give them a try and dropped off a dress and a men's dress shirt, hoping my experience would match the many 5-star reviews. I'm happy to say it did. The shop is clean, and the staff were friendly and welcoming both when I dropped off and picked up my items. The turnaround time they quoted was accurate, and the total cost for both items was just over $20, which is a great price for a local cleaner. I'm glad to have found a reliable neighborhood spot and would happily recommend Diamond Dry Cleaners to others.

Went here to have some patches sewn on my leather vest. This was one of the only places in the area…read morethat I found that could do the work. It was about two weeks to have them sewn on and while they did ask me if it was ok to sew through the liner, they did sew through the liner and pockets rendering the inner left pocket unusable. I don't really use the pockets except maybe to put my phone in, but I would have thought that they wouldn't have done that. All in all I had 4 patches sewn on for $80. As you can see, one got sewn right through the inside pocket. I would have like to have been asked about that, but hindsight being 20/20, I guess if I need any more sewn, I'll let them know. This business seems to do a lot of alterations for wedding dresses, so I'm guessing not a lot of bikers are hitting them up to sew their cuts. Just be aware if that's something you need.
