Stumbled across Mercury a few weeks back and stopped in for drinks. Lots of craft cocktails- although I usually just end up going with something standard like wine or vodka soda. Atmosphere is really cool- think fancy diner, mixed with a dark lounge, like you just stopped out of 2017 and into Mad Men era. Christmas decorations really added to this feel. Went back and ordered some food. Tried the turdukin empanadas which were like a delicious Thanksgiving snack. Three per order so easily shareable- fillings switch up. Also tried the Swedish meatballs. They were okay but nothing special. Service has been great both times. Not a huge menu- great place for a quick drink and bite before a show. read more

I ran into the same problem as another reviewer but I was a customer. I came in, and my friend and I were sat quickly. I was wearing a no to trump shirt and shorts and a baseball cap. My friend apparently ordered a drink while I was in the restroom, and upon me leaving the restroom I was asked, "Do you think we have public bathrooms?" I said, "Yes, I do, you serve food." She then explained that the bathrooms were for paying customers only. As a resident of the Orpheum, right next door to this place, I was shocked. I asked her why she thought I was not a paying customer and she literally said, "She didn't recognize me." I grabbed my friend, we left, and I tell everyone in my bldg, right next door, what happened. Just beyond rude. read more

Incredible. By the time that you've had a drink you completely forget that you're still in Omaha. Every item (drinks and food) that we tried was fantastic. Highly recommend the mushrooms thermador. The music was also spot on, any bar that plays deerhunter is solid in my book. Great ice, great drinks, friendly and knowledgeable staff, just great!! read more

Grand Daddy Low drink-Buffalo Trace, lemon, amaretto, Amaro. Great balance of sweet, sour. Moved on to a Blue Monday with Tequila and cucumber. Equally cool and delicious to go with my jalapeño empanadas which were a rendition of one of my favorites snacks with jalapeños and cream cheese. The Steak and well seasoned potatoes served Chimchurri was perfectly done, delicious and satisfying. This vibe here was low key but nice. This is easily my favorite bar in Omaha. It's classy, but chill and the drinks, service and food are all amazing! I don't drink, and in most bars in Omaha that means you're drinking water or pop, but not Mercury! They whip me up a fancy mocktail everytime. All of their seasonal empanadas are delicious. Went here with my boyfriend on our anniversary. Sat down and was greeted by a bartender with water... 25 min later we were contemplating leaving as no one came back to us. Finally another server noticed us and apologized that the bartender forgot we came in. They made this up by bringing complimentary champagne. We enjoyed trying a handful of creative cocktails. I have frequented Mercury quite a bit since it recently opened a block away from my apartment. I have to say, it's a pretty neat spot. The staff is fantastic access friendly. They take a interesting approach to their food and drink menu, using unique ingredients in every item. The bartender's seem to be very knowledgeable and appear to enjoy experimenting with new cocktails to add to the menu. Being a vegetarian, I have to sometimes get crafty with my choices and the team at Mercury have always been accommodating. I will absolutely be back! read more

Jocelyn made the best Old Fashion I've had in the 2 years I've lived in Omaha (Elijah Craig). Their cheese fondue is great (bacon-y) and their chicken biscuit is freakin incredible. The collards that come on the side are worth it in of itself. $40 will get you the experience. Highly recommend. read more

What a great addition to downtown Omaha! I initially went to Mercury days after the grand opening, and was not super impressed. Mostly due to training issues with the existing team. However, I have since been back twice and have had nothing but great experiences. If you get a chance, At the very least stop in for some of their evening appetizers. I stopped in and had a vegan braut and a tiki drink. I was surprised they had a vegan menu which was awesome. The braut had a great concept just a little dry for my taste the potatoes that came with it were good. The drink was excellent and the customer service was wonderful. Went here for a nightcap and walked into a Karaoke open mic night. Not something I feel comfortable doing, but always enjoy watching others perform. The bar has an extensive offering of liquor and wines. They create a large chunk of ice from a machine at the front of the bar and chip pieces from it that are used in the cocktails. They also have a liquor dispenser and I had my first Manhattan shot. I have to say it was very good. The bar felt trendy, but the bar staff wore flannel shirts which made it feel more casual and welcoming. read more

Couldn't be more disappointed. We were sitting at the bar and the bar tender took our food and drink order and he started making drinks. We sat there watching him. He got done. None of them was ours. Then he leaves the bar and goes sits down with a girl. Another guy comes up and asks us if we've been helped. Told him we thought so but the guy never made the drinks and is now sitting down. He takes our order. But nothing! No one made our drinks or brought our food. We left empty handed. read more

Been here three times and each time am impressed by the bar and kitchen equally. Drink specials are tasty, whimsically named, and fairly well-priced. The menu changes seemingly every time we stop in, but we've never had anything we didn't like. The bartenders are friendly, funny and very attentive without being intrusive. Also, shouts and many props to the one single guy manning literally every station in their tiny kitchen. How he turns out such tasty and attractive food all by his lonesome is beyond me. Mercury is an awesome addition to downtown Omaha's upscale bar scene! We tried it out for a night cap and wish we would have started our night there. I had the double deuce which was a great drink but I just ordered poorly for my taste. I loved the cactus candy but didn't realize I wasn't much of a Mezcal girl. Luckily my husband picked much better than myself and I was able to share with him. My absolute favorite was the .38 special. I'm usually not much of an old fashioned drinker but this was perfect! There was a underlying cherry note that made me want to keep sipping away. He also chose the Duke Silver because we are big Parks and Rec fans over here and it was unique and delicious. Because we thought it would be smart to order something to soak up some of the boozy goodness we chose the charcuterie plate and boy oh boy was it delicious and for 13 dollars there was a lot to choose from! I personally loved the mustard and fig jam. We will definitely be ordering this again. I love that there are many seating options to choose from including a bar, tables with chairs and couches. It is an intimate environment which is good for conversation. We cannot wait to return. read more

Collin and Clark have brought craft cocktails to the level they should be! Many in Omaha start out with a great idea then forget why they wanted the pure craft cocktail experience. Such a great vibe and comfortable space. All the windows have a perfect view of downtown.Ran into friends while there that were also at Mercury checking out the new space. Alex our waiter was always there for us but not intrusive. We had a wicked smart and capable bartender in Phil. We were in town for a wedding. Stopped in for a happy hour snack and a drink. You need to take the time and visit this place if you are looking for a good craft cocktail, glass of wine and food. Sarah the Sommelier was amazing and can you direct to a drink of your liking. The stuffed mushrooms were good, but my favorite was the jalapeño popper empanada. My friend and I walked in and went to the back to use the restroom. No one said anything to us, so we simply walked back and did what we needed. We were taking a break from my sisters bachelorette party and about to start up on our scavenger hunt again. When I came out of the bathroom, there was a lady put there who looked like the manager. She come right up to my face and says "We're you actually planning on buying something, or were you just using us like some public bathroom?" I was shocked. They didn't have any signs saying bathrooms were for customers only, and they had said nothing to us when we walked in. We were planning on having some small appetizers and getting a table together to celebrate. I told the lady kindly that we were sorry, but we no one told us, to which she glared at me and nudged her head at the door. She didn't even offer us a table (many of which were open) or ask us if we were interested in staying. She didn't even let me say whether we were going to buy something or not, and then my friend came out, so we left. I won't go back, and I wouldn't want any of my friends to go back their either.
