Of all the coffees I've had in Portland Oregon, Oregon 101/5FWY and north cal I have to say this was the best coffee I had in my trip. I can say it's one of the best coffees I have has in my life, I got the 5 star Chinese which has black pepper, anise, cinnamon, among other ingredients. Perfect! Friendly staff and great service. This locale is close to a homeless shelter or a place that feeds them. (Rear alley) but coming from California these homeless people are actually respectful and mind their own business. I wanted a space to get some reading in before getting my day started and this was a perfect spot for it. I read that their chai latte is made in house so I had to try it out. The yogurt parfait was also fulfilling and I may have eaten it in less than 5 min. Delicious. There were good amount of folks there already so I got a corner seat by the window. We stopped in at Meraki this morning after seeing that they would be holding a bake sale to raise funds for Ukraine (there was a separate table set up apart from the cafe itself & we grabbed 2 cookies). I thought that was very heartwarming of them and I hope they were able to raise a substantial amount! It was our first time in and we loved it. The cafe was absolutely packed as it was Sunday morning, but we were helped quickly and were brought our items in no time (there is seating both inside and outside). I ordered the Lox Toast and a seasonal Raspberry Mocha. My fiancé got the Yogurt Parfait and their Spanish Latte. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The toast came with a nice, thick slice of sourdough and the perfect amount of cream cheese and lox. The parfait was also very yummy and had a great selection of fresh fruit. It was topped with honey which gave it the right amount of sweetness to contrast the yogurt. Portions are what you'd expect from a cafe, but we both left full. I came into Meraki on a Friday morning, arriving about 8:15, and found there was plenty of open seating inside and I didn't have to wait long for my coffee. About 20 minutes after I arrived, the place really picked up! Every table and couch was full from then on until I left about two hours later. So if you're wanting to secure a spot to get some work done, sit with a friend or study, definitely arrive on the early side in the morning, or plan to wait a little bit. There are quite a few tables outside along the sidewalk, but were not appealing on a cold and rainy day I visited on. Beyond the coffee basics, Meraki offers some fun variations on classics, rotating specials with house-made inclusions, and some food items. I wasn't feeling too adventurous that day so I opted for a simple mocha with almond milk. I will say I was very impressed with the frothiness of almond milk! The mocha was on the sweet side but not overly so. This coffee shop definitely feels trendy, from the decor, to the baristas, down to the assortment of "toasts" on the menu. Feel free to snap a pic of your drink or selfie with the mural, add your fave filter and throw it up on social media for an instant hit! Jokes aside, I noticed a variety of people enjoying the space. So rather than being trendy and exclusive, it feels trendy yet welcoming. The one thing that seemed odd to me was I didn't notice any signs for a restroom for customers. I didn't have a need for one when I was there, but still took note of this. I'm assuming there might be a general one for the entire building and maybe you can get a code? This was easily our favorite spot during our weekend trip to Eugene. Before our drive back to Seattle we wanted to have a lighter, healthier breakfast. So, after spotting Meraki on Yelp, we decided to come by. We arrived at 11 on Saturday and the place was popping! However, we were still able to find a free parking spot in the back. We ordered the lox toast, parfait, and hazelnut latte. Everything was delicious and it really was the perfect meal to kick off our day. It was about $20--totally reasonable for a breakfast for two. My partner who is really into coffee loved his latte. After his first sip, I knew he was impressed, as his eyes widened and he whispered "mashita" ("delicious" in Korean). His favorite hazelnut latte in Seattle and Oregon was Case Study Coffee in Portland, but now Meraki tops his list! The space itself is also very cute. Thoughtfully decorated; the design and the menu was really giving me Cali vibes. Plus, the staff was super friendly. On my most recent visit, I had a chai latte (made with almond milk) and a lox toast. The latte was delicious, and major kudos to the barista for their skills with foaming the almond milk to a frothy deliciousness, since I know it's hard to do! The lox toast was SO good. Crunchy, fresh bread toasted to perfection (chewy but not rock hard, so it's easy to eat.) Just got in town and we needed some good coffee. We found this spot Meraki Coffee which didn't disappoint! I tried their El Sancho Mocha and this was delicious. It had a kick that was surprising because of the cayenne pepper! So if you're in the mood for something spicy & caffeinated, give this a try. We also had the PDX Fog Latte, which was sooo good as well. It has a floral taste due to the Earl Grey and Orange topping, not overly sweet as well. The Iced Matcha Latte was very good.
