This is the second time I've taken my custom PC into Memory Express on Broadway. (The first time was several years ago when they rebuilt my system after the water cooling system failed. They did a super job). This time I needed to have my system upgraded to Windows 11 and upgrade the hard drive. My computer was ready the next day and cost considerably less than I expected. Young Shintaro at the customer service desk was very helpful and made a number of recommendations to improve the upgrade. I'm an old lady and sometimes get 'attitude' at technical service desks but there was none of that here. Excellent customer service and highly recommended. Good job ME! read more

Although the store manager at this location is a decent person but Memory express in general is a very sketchy organization with a clear intention to siphon off your money. But Memory Express Langley's manager's behavior is remarkably rude and unprofessional. I ordered an i7-13700K Processor Bundle with a Gigabyte Z790 GAMING X AX Mobo for $629 during the Thanksgiving sale a few days ago (attached are the pictures as proof). Today, I received a call from the manager, stating that I must pay an additional $200 due to their error. I would have been fine with this adjustment, but at the time of my purchase, there were several similar bundles available at Canada Computers and NewEgg. Unfortunately, I missed out on those deals because I ordered from Memory Express. As a result, I'm left with no other options. Note that this would have been illegal in Quebec under their consumer protection laws. When I tried to explain this situation to the manager, instead of a simple apology, I was met with a barrage of yelling and unprofessional behavior. What should have been resolved with an apology turned into a heated argument with the manager. read more

Go anywhere else for a repair. I dropped my laptop off about two weeks ago for a simple hinge repair, and was given a time frame of 3-5 business days, closer to the 3 day side because I had the in store protection plan. Two weeks later, and I still don't have my laptop back. They still haven't given me a quote, they still haven't given me a proper estimate, and they seem to have incredibly poor communication between tech and customer service, because if I call to check up on it on a day the tech isn't in, they have no way of knowing where the repair is at (seriously, they don't keep a log of the repair statuses at all?) and will tell me I'll find out soon. In two weeks I've gotten one call from them, saying that because the repair is taking so long, they'll cover the hinge parts, but now a different customer service guy is telling me that I'll still have to wait for a quote. If you're going to offer to cover a repair, that should be a) noted and b) honoured. All of this is happening during my finals (which they know of), and they've offered very little in the way of problem solving, communication, or any actual customer care. I would rather have dealt with the snapped hinge for two weeks and then taken it in if I knew it'd take so long to repair. read more

So I've written a review for the Richmond location previously before (fantastic experience) and wanted to share my experience with the new Broadway location today. Man - the service is great here. I walk in because I have a question about upgrading but also wanted to check out the prebuilds. I talk to one of the staff members (His name is Lucky) and first thing he says "I remember you - you come to the Richmond location sometimes right?." The thing is I haven't been to the Richmond Location in probably more than a year but the man remembers me. All my computer equipment comes from Memory Express and him remembering me as a customer is a pretty cool perk. So I talk to Lucky about the upgrade I want to do and he's knowledgeable. I want the store to open up my gaming laptop and replace the ram and ssd. It's a pretty simple procedure and he knows the price right away. I wasn't sure what ram modules to buy either so he does a quick check faster than me doing the Google search myself. On top of the hardware cost, 50 bucks for the installation or 75 if I want the data transfered. I don't have to worry about losing a small screw or opening up the proprietary laptop my self its pretty good deal and I'm sold. I'll bring in my laptop later. I change the subject and talk to him about maybe buying a prebuild as and he's knowledgeable on the subject. I tell him that I'm worried that the technicians might be rushed and the cabling might be messy. He brings me to the prebuilds and opens up the side window and shows me that the cabling work they do is good and it is. It's good a sign that he didn't hesitate to open up the builds on the floor. He even says that if i wanted to do a custom water loop they can do that as well - pretty cool. Memory Express has knowledgeable staff and consistently good and FRIENDLY service from all locations.. Do not even think of going across the street to Canada Computers as the customer service there is atrocious (check out my review) and their return policy is garbage. Ordered a screen for pick-up, drove in, and as the salesperson rang in my order, he asked if Devon told me about the cosmetic defect. "No," I replied. I was caught off guard since my purchase was for a brand new monitor, so I waited for him to further explain. He didn't. "What is the defect?" "Oh," he said, "the screen is scratched. But you can't see it when it's on." I must have looked dumbfounded. Ignoring every other issue, this salesperson was trying to tell me that this monitor, which was purchased as a new product, with a new price tag, had a damaged screen, and he seemed to suggest that the damage was an offhanded, unnoticeable issue. I get that wires can get crossed in business transactions, but there was no attempt to help me understand. There was no attempt at explaining how this situation had happened. I was met with vacant stares and awkward silences. After explaining to the salesperson that a damaged screen wasn't a minor, cosmetic issue, especially on a brand new product, he then offered me 10% discount. Take that how you will. Future buyers, be weary. I'm sure most people's experiences will be fine, including yours, but my experience was incomprehensible. At best, shady and unprofessional. read more

If you want really great service, buy your computer here. I consulted with Devon a number of times via emails and in the store. I felt that all my many questions were as important to him as they were to me. He gave good advice when I was unsure and put together a great desktop for me. I was in the store a number of times and on one occasion Benny helped me out with the same great service and advice. I don't often buy after purchase product insurance but I did this time because it was well explained and good value for cost. The managers here are doing the right thing. I really felt this was a customer centered business. I retired from a career in sales and marketing so I know when service goes above and beyond. I must say my experience here was top notch. Memory Express really makes shopping local the best value for my money. read more

We recently decided to custom build our new recording studio, including the computer. we needed a lot of little tweeks and thunderbolt 3 ready gear, and all on a musicians budget. Alex worked with us patiently and helped pull together just what we needed. as a gal I was never talked down to, including when we went to pick up and spoke with other customer service reps. we had a wee glitch in the final steps but they quickly resolved any issues with a remote fix. Highly recomend them for all your computer needs. read more

My stalwart gaming/work computer packed it in after almost 7 years of faithful service. I took it to Memory Express on Broadway and was told 3 to 5 days for a diagnosis. Jadelle was back to me the next day with the news that the water cooling system had failed and damaged most of the components. I needed an extensive rebuild and she helped me select appropriate replacements in my price range. I expected at least a week (or even more) to get the rig back and they had it done in two days flat. They also managed to save my hard drives (yay). The new build is whisper quiet, cool and works perfectly. Very, very pleased with the turnaround time and service. read more

Bought an inexpensive Video card to day (4pm) MSI 715? Needed one with a dvi plug Sales kid sold me this one claiming it would fill my described need. Back home.. My DVI plug would not insert.. Great!! Back to the shop (7pm) was told the card did not have the 'right' DVI plug in.. Geez.. Why was I told this Now?? Asked for refund as the card didn't serve it purchased for purpose. NO.. refunds.. even 3 hours after purchasing ... they were adamant about this. Clearly Refunds are Not issued ... in this upstanding Business. Nothing at all.. anywhere.. suggesting this 'Policy' No idea if some twit Minimum wage 'Manager' kids' invented policy.. whilst jockeying for Corporate attention OR ? instruction from the owner's desk. Regardless.. be VERY careful in spending Any $$ at Memory Express. V eager to take your Money but there's little hope of getting it back...even for their F'ups. will Not be buying anything from this 'business' again. .. ever. How many MemoryExpress people does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Five: One customer to screw in the lightbulb, FOUR employees to claim there is "physical damage" and void their return policy. I bought a motherboard from here. Inserted components, plugged in, and everything. The RAM doesn't work (one stick isn't recognized by the BIOS). I take it back to the store. The technician finds a damaged pin in the socket, and refuses to give me a return. Calls over the person who sold it to me, who claims not to have seen the damaged pin when he sold it. Calls the manager, who looks over it and reiterates the same thing. He calls the technician, who looks over it and reiterates the same thing. Now, having bought the motherboard in the first place at 7:25 PM, I would think that maybe the salesperson was a little tired, maybe he didn't see this damage when he looked over it when he sold it. I mentioned that to the manager, who then claimed that the store NEVER sells any components with physical damage, ever, and that it is absolutely impossible for the socket to have been damaged and possibly overlooked when the motherboard was sold. He said that the store sells "thousands of motherboards" and that none of them ever have physical damage (dubious). He says that it was my responsibility to examine the motherboard at purchase (why did the salesperson do it then?) and says that if I didn't return it right away when I noticed the damage, I must have damaged it (never mind that it is well within their return period). As such, they were unable to take a return. I have never heard of a store claiming that they never ever sell defective merchandise. I have also never heard of a store that requires four employees to reiterate the same point. Overall, very inefficient, a waste of time. I am quite annoyed that they didn't give me a refund, as the product was clearly defective. It seems that they didn't believe they could sell a defective product since the salesperson "inspected" it (glanced at it) when he sold it to me. He didn't let me refund it since it was 10 days since I bought it (as if I have nothing better to do than go to Memory Express every day, not to mention the return policy is 15 days). TL;DR Terrible service. Inefficient. Ignoring their own policies. I will be shopping at Amazon and Canada Computers from now on, they have far superiour customer service. A $300 motherboard is a significant thing to be unable to return. read more

Memory Express was referred to me by a friend and this was one of my biggest mistakes I made, to get my laptop repaired. I brought my laptop in for a new hard drive in what should've taken a few a hours and had it returned to me within a few days given the backlog of other repairs. All acceptable parameters. This is where my nightmare began. My 6 year old could've done a quicker and better job. In what should've taken the above time frame took over 2 months of me following up every week to see what kind of incompetent excuse they could come up with. They are totally disorganized and no one knew what was going on. I was called to pick up my laptop twice and when i showed up to pick it up, none of the work was done. The final time when I actually picked it up, I had to wait another half hour until I finally received it. Once I got home and inspected my laptop it still wasn't fixed properly and had to get further work done to it by another tech (not with Memory Express), to get it up and running properly. Long story short, stay away from this place if you want quick or timely competent service, this was a complete and utter disaster. read more
