BEST SERVICE EVER !!! These guys are truly amazing and have been my Hero. Especially, AREF! I was in need of emergent macbook repair and it would have been a week or possibly more If I went to other store but this guys were so efficient and prompt that it was done on the same day! Second time, about a month after, my keyboard didnt function again. My seemed stopped again, due to how technologies are important these days to function. I sent a one text to Aref and he took his busy time out and squeezed me on the next day and got it all done with so much less cost of the other company which I had inquired before proceeding with this guys. Time is essence and as a customer , I feel they truly CARE which is rare in this business. HIGLY RECOMMENDED! If you know anything about computers, avoid this place. Their initial diagnosis offered for $60 without repair is useless (they advertise free diagnosis, but only if you pay the full $200 + tax repair fee). They tell you things that you already know or that are even just wrong (they claimed my BIOS was outdated, when I had installed the latest version a day before taking my computer to them - see attached email screenshot). They will refuse to provide a deeper diagnosis if you do not agree to pay their $200 + tax fee for a full repair. Their full repair for $200 + tax is what would be expected from a diagnosis, in which they are not able to repair hardware issues, only software. For hardware issues, they can only tell you what parts you need to get replaced, which is what I would have expected from a diagnosis in the first place. They tell you that they will "waive" the initial diagnosis fee to make you feel like they are giving you something complimentary to keep you there and make you pay their full repair fee when they did next to nothing for the diagnosis. Communication with their technician was also abysmal, with days without reply to my email with questions and concerns about their diagnosis. I had to call to schedule a call with their technician for which I never got from them, and I had to call them again. I had to go in person to get proper communication and retrieve my computer in the same visit because there was no way I was letting them charge me for the full repair for either just installing Windows or telling me to replace whatever part, rather than actually fixing my computer. read more

These guys did what no one else could, or would, twice. First they fixed my macbook on short notice and helped me meet a key deadline and save a client relationship. Apple Care couldn't do that, neither could Simply Computing, London Drugs repair service, or any of the "official" channels. Second, they recovered my kid's baby pictures (and many other pictures) off my old phone--again, Apple could not advise me on this, nor could my phone provider or anyone else I checked with. I'm surprised to see so many poor reviews, because my experience has been that they're much, much better than all alternatives if what you need is urgent and/or even slightly out of the ordinary. read more

BC computers was supposed to fix my broken laptop screen along with digitizer. I was billed for both but touch never worked after the repair. The customer service is awful both the times. I didn't receive my laptop on time like the way they mentioned when I first gave it to repair. I had to call them multiple times to know the status ( at times they avoid taking your calls or emails even if they are long overdue delivering your fixed items to you! and it will be customers headache to get back their equipment). When I finally went to the store for pickup, the broken screen was replaced but touch never worked. They said it's drivers ...and asked me to re-install the drivers! As I was in a hurry to leave town, I took the laptop with me mentioning them that I would get it back if it doesn't work. Well it didn't work, my husband called them up couple of times and asked them to note it on my ticket that we would get it back once we are in town. I took the laptop while there is still 3 weeks of warranty period left (they give you 3 months of warranty for their shoddy work), BC computers took my laptop namesake and passed about 3 weeks of time saying that the part didn't arrive ( They charged me the prize for authentic part from Lenovo or that's what they mentioned). I wouldn't think Lenovo would be so careless to ship a faulty piece and not respond to customer for 3+ weeks when an issue occured. BC computers neither provided me an ETA on when the part would arrive, nor did give me a call back when the part arrived, like they said they would. And on top of it my laptops battery started draining out much quicker since the time I picked up laptop from repair. I would say think twice before handing your laptops for repair here. They don't have the courtesy to provide a refund for the customer service that promised to provide but never did! And the company reported to Google saying that they don't recall such a situation (my public name on Google was different) . read more

The battery on my Microsoft 10" Surface Go Tablet was swelling, so I brought it into BC Computers on Oct 21st to have the battery swapped out and the warped screen replaced. The tablet worked just fine, and had no problem holding a charge at this point. On Oct 23rd, they quoted me $230 (plus tax) and 2-5 days for the repair. I was informed of a delay on Oct 27th. I was told the device was repaired on Nov 1st, and I paid $257.60 for it on Nov 2nd, only to find that it would not hold a charge, and so returned it to the shop (the device immediately shut down as soon as it was unplugged). I did not hear from them again for more than a week, on Nov 11th, when I was informed they were 'still working on the device'. I tried to contact them again, on Nov 16th, but received no response until Nov 18th, when I was told that new batteries were being delivered and would arrive Nov 21st. I heard nothing back, and tried to contact them on Nov 26th, and asked for a refund. They did not reply until Nov 29th, asking for the ticket number. They stopped responding to my texts, and the tablet was unavailable for me to recover until Dec 2nd (the device still did not hold a charge, and now would not startup into the operating system). An estimated 2-5 day repair remains unresolved after over six weeks, and they still have the tablet and refuse to give a refund. read more

You are advised to steer clear of this SHODDY, INCOMPETENT and UNPROFESSIONAL shop. These people do NOT know what they are doing. If I could give this shop zero stars, I would. Use my words, experience and misery to your advantage. I called to simply just to get my Apple laptop cleaned. They opened it up and then things went sideways very quickly from there. They came back and said it needed a new battery, which I agreed to purchase and install. When work was completed about 2 hrs later, they opened it up to show me and the fan started kicking in at maximum speed upon start up. Strange. They ran a "diagnostic" which said the fans "MIGHT need to be replaced." Either a fan works or it doesn't. In this case the fan was indeed working just not appropriately. It was totally Burrard Laptop's fault that the fan started kicking at MAXIMUM SPEED upon start-up, as this DID NOT happen before the cleaning and replacement of battery. Also, I was BLAMED for asking them to apply thermal paste after the cleaning, which they had in stock but didn't want to use! As if thermal paste when applied PROPERLY would cause a laptop to overheat and the fans to kick in? They said that I'd be charged for a new fan, and then left to swallow the cost if the fan didn't work. This fan issue was 100% their fault, yet they were quite happy to have me pay for a new fan in addition to all other costs. So, a simple cleaning now led to numerous expenses totalling almost $400 (plus another $200 for new fan installation if I went that route), and my laptop was WORSE off than before I had them touch it. I was also entirely uncomfortable with 3 guys staring me down as I tried to decide what to do. Something smelled entirely rotten and fishy to me, so I decide to pay them (FIRST MISTAKE) and take the laptop elsewhere. ANOTHER computer repair said that the battery was a mess, installed improperly using a soldering gun and that numerous screws were missing and/OR loose!!! They also said that the loud fan kicking in upon start up was not indicative of damaged fans at all, but rather the result of the SENSOR BEING DAMAGED during cleaning or new battery installation. I now was faced with another $350 dollar bill for having that fixed. In total I have paid almost $800 dollars to fix a laptop that's already 6 years old. I'm still thinking about taking the LYING, SHADY, fraudster owner of Burrard Laptop to small claims COURT over this mess, as he was present for the entire procedure. Run away from this place, fast and far away. Look for certified specialists. It's worth the extra $100 you might pay for FAR better service and peace of mind, rather than being swindled out of your hard earned cash for sub-standard, amateur, highly-flawed and incompetent work from the likes of Burrard Laptop. When I came to pick up my machine, Aref in particular was thorough in explaining what the problems were and potential measures to improve performance going forward. I am sorry to say that while I had high hopes for this computer repair company, and I gave these technicians my trust, I was let down with a pricey bill and an initial unsuccessful repair job. I had told them I was pressed for time with an imminent travel the following day, which may have meant a higher price and / or they knew I was in a tight spot with few options. While travelling, my laptop remained inert for the entire trip, unable to turn on. After their hefty bill, I could not afford to get it fixed while away. When I returned, I took it back as it was still under warranty, pressed them about it, and they finally fixed it. The experience was not pleasant. read more
