I took two laptops there on one day. The first one was an Acer still in warranty. I live in Vancouver. It was such a big deal for me to "post" my laptop to Mississauga, ON for a repair as instructed by the Acer team, but looking at Acer's Canadian website I saw no other choice (as it turned out, they don't have the most informative website!). So he (I think his name is Noel, but I never asked) took a look at my laptop and told me about how the warranty would get void if he opened it. So he never opened my laptop, instead he told me all about an apparently concealed Acer repair depot in Burnaby (admittedly NOT mentioned on their website), only 25 minutes away from where I live! I am planning to drop off my laptop there today to have it fixed free of charge. Seeing as how I had to send my laptop via DHL or FedEx across the country, I think these guys just saved me a month of waiting and at least $100, let aside the risk of damage to my computer along the way! As for the second laptop, as it turned out, the hard disk was dead so there was nothing he could do about it. These are very very nice people. Very welcoming, indeed. The HP laptop that my son uses for home schooling suddenly wouldn't turn on. I'm pretty good with computers, but couldn't do anything to fix it. I brought it in on Monday morning, and on Monday afternoon I got a call with the diagnosis. It turns out the power supply piece on the Motherboard had died. Noel was patient with me on the phone as I weighed the pros and cons of fixing vs just buying a new laptop, and gave no pressure to fix it. I decided to get it fixed but when I found it could take a week for the part, I was worried since all my son's school work was on that laptop. Noel removed the hard drive and installed it into a hard drive enclosure for me, so I could take it home and copy the files. He did this with for no charge. Great Service! In less that week the part arrived and was replaced and now the laptop is working again. I highly recommend them. read more

I have been taking my computers to JNRJ for over 10 years (1 laptop and 2 desktops). I have also taken my elderly mother's computer in (2 desktops). I have used larger companies in the past but nobody compares to the services and prices of this store. The owner is friendly, professional, and will not try to sell you services you do not need. I never had to wait long for the repair unless it was absolutely necessary. I've had questions about computer use and he spent time helping me (on the phone and in person) even though it had nothing to do with repairs! I just took my laptop in because the video card has stopped working. I wish I had left a review before but I did not think of it until today. Excellent work and service. I live in Prince George, BC (about a 10h drive north of Van) but since I go to down occasionally JRJR is still my go to place for computer repairs. I've gone here twice now and will continue to when the need arises. I had a AC port replaced on my laptop. They had the part in stock and replaced it the same day for a reasonable price. I recently brought in my son's hp laptop that had been diagnosed by another shop as having a "completely fried hard drive". I took it in to JNJR where the fellow said he could have it done by the next day. I asked if there was any way he could do it that day, as I was staying over an hours drive from the city, He said he would do the best he could. He called me back a few hours later with the job done. Great service, amazing turn-around time, and a friendly smile! The DC jack in my laptop was broken and I took it to two big box retail stores and to a laptop repair shop before coming here. All the three stores/shop gave me a pricey estimate and a minimum of 2 weeks turn-around time, which was a rip-off given the problem. Then I came here. Noel took a look at it and based on his preliminary assessment gave me a quote and told me they will give me a call should they discover additional problems. I got a call from Noel next morning saying my laptop was ready for pick-up - this when I had dropped my laptop to them the previous evening around 6 pm - great service and amazing turn around time! Noel not only repaired the faulty Dell design but did so for $ and quickly.. Dell wanted an arm and leg for a MB replacement. Never Dell Hell again. He is happy to explain your options using "non-tech" talk so that you understand what needs to be done to fix a problem. Mac User? COME HERE! If you are looking for honest, helpful service see Noel! My external hard drive was failing to mount. I was worried that all data was lost and the recovery cost would be huge. I wanted to remove the drive and see if the controller board was faulty. Noel at Main&57 computer was incredibly helpful and fixed the problem with a new enclosure. And he only wanted to charge me $5 for the service! what do you get these days for $5? not much. Most Apple techs won't even look at you for less than $85/hour. My motherboard went on my a Sony Vaio laptop last week. I work from home and my whole life is on my computer; every day I'm without it is a day I can't work! I called Sony to repair it; and they told me I'd have to pay $150 and ship it to Toronto... that was before they attempted any repairs! Instead, I gave it to JNRJ and am I so thankful that I did! Great deal. I needed to get the power jack on my laptop replaced and this place offered the best prize out of three stores I contacted. My laptop is not a common brand so I also appreciate this place does really have spare part for less common laptops in stock, as they state on their website. I waited overnight comparing to two weeks they offered me in another store, which did not have the spare part. My laptop wouldn't charge and I knew I had a problem with the motherboard, was very worried because something similar happened to my last computer and I had to send it back to the manufacturer which took weeks and the cost to repair was over $300. Went in today to get my asus dc jack fix and got it fixed for $ 100 which is pretty reasonable considering how asus dc jack is harder to fix and It got it fix asap in 5 hrs. Guy got great skills and is the best technician in Vancouver. This guy also good at socialing too had a great time talking to him. I'm so gonna recommend this to my friends/family. I was pleased with the personal touch in the company's service. They didn't have the part needed to repair my computer. They called me to let me know the part had arrived and when I walked in the owner called me by name (2 weeks later!!). Repair was done in a timely fashion and well explained.
