I had absolutely the best experience with Jack at Fixmac!!!! I told him about my problem through online in an e-mail, and he got back to me within 10 minutes with exact prices on everything. I had a cracked LED screen on my Macbook Pro and a dented casing. I visited Simply Computing and they quoted me $700 for just the screen alone. Then they pressured me into buying a new computer. I called up Jack and he said its an easy repair and only charged me $170 for the LED. The repair was done in a very timely manner and I am very pleased with the end result. I also asked Jack how best to improve the performance of my Mac as it was a few years old. I said "which is better for speed, ram or SSD?" He says SSD. I said ok, how much for both? Then he gave me an honest answer about the performance of both upgrades and the benefits of each. No pressure sales, just honest advice and then a killer price to boot! This guy is awesome. The world needs more people like Jack at Fixmac. I was very satisfied and impressed with my service at Fixmac and I will be returning there later this month for a SSD and ram upgrade. 5 stars outta 5! I just want to start by saying Jack was fantastic! I had spilled coffee over my VERY expensive MacBook Pro (i7, 16GB, 500GB SSD etc.) a few days earlier. The liquid slipped into my speakers and the base of my retina display and fried the entire monitor so that it wouldn't even start up. I was freaking out as it was near exams and I desperately needed my laptop for any sort of functionality so out of desperation, I brought my MBP to an apple store (since I purchased just over 1 year ago, I was out of warranty coverage) - the repair was going to cost me almost $1,200. They actually recommended that I buy a new MBP all together. For the specs that I was running at, it would have cost me over $2800 with tax. I wanted a second opinion. Jack took the computer in, did a FREE diagnostic, and said that if he couldn't fix it, I could take my laptop back and not pay him anything. After his diagnostics, he told me that it would only cost $640 to fix everything (Retina display replacement & I/O Board). I was skeptical at first due to the huge price discrepancy, but I trusted him... and rightfully so. He did an AMAZING job, my MBP feels good as new, and I have no issues at all! Thank you! read more

These guys are definitely professionals. My story: I had an issue with my MacBook Pro 15" Early 2011, my airport/Bluetooth board died, so I knew I had to replace it and knew how to do that so the only thing I was missing was a new airport board. I popped down their location on Kingsway and asked for the specific part. The guy who I met seems to be like he is an owner, he kindly listened to my story and told me he didn't have the part today but they should had to receive one in two days. I asked him for the price of service he named the price and told me "I don't really see why would you pay for the service if you have done all the way through it and know how to fix it but just missing a part" and I in my head was like "wow that's not something you would normally hear from person providing the service, very kind of him that he isn't trying to make money at the first place!". So I came back in two days after and the part was already there. The same guy recognized me right away and asked to pull my mac out. He did all the job for me and didn't charge a dime for the service, just for the part! I am really happy people like him still exist! read more

Jack is a wonderful person to go to for your Apple needs! He was so polite, reasonable and prompt with his fixing of my 2013 Macbook Pro 15" Retina Display as the logic-board went out after having it for only 4 years and using it only for school not even its full capacity (but that is another conversation about Apple in general, LOL). Jack is all about the customer service, he was so kind to lend me a loaner for 2 weeks since the part was going to take longer than expected as I was in school and needed a laptop, and kindly transferred all my documents to that loaner so it didn't feel like I was out of sync! I do got to say that I am always hesitant about getting my technology fixed outside of the company that I buy them from, however, he was just excellent! Good pricing and amazing customer service! He even called me back about a part that might have a recall, even past my 90 day warranty, it is no surprise that they know how to run their business with such professionalism and kindness! It's Sept. '13 and my '07 Macbook Pro "died", or became seriously ill. The screen faded out to bluish white in about 30 seconds. So, I took it to XXX for a diagnostic, an "authorized" mac repair center in the US. After a week they tell me it needs a new screen ($250+ labor) and a new logic board ($250+ labor if they can get it at all). They charged $45 for the diagnostic. I'm not happy with this, roughly a $1000 repair bill on a 6 y.o. computer. Researching I found http://fixmac.ca in Vancouver B.C. I sent it to them. After one week they said, "Your logic board has been fixed by replacing a few major chipsets, but we found out that your LCD monitor is not working properly. We can change your LCD as well to make it working 100%, the total cost will be $280, ( 180 for the board, and 100 for the screen)." And they sent it back to me post paid, next day delivery! And, very good communication. They told me when they received my computer, kept me advised about when to expect return, and they were right on time. They only took a week to fix it. read more

Okay, I'm one of those people that do check reviews on things before I make a choice on who to go to or what to buy. I do admit that I never bother to post a review on things myself. Well that changed today after I went to Fixmac/Logicserve Tech Solutions. Good reviews had me try them out and if you're reading this, I'm here to tell you they are great. I have an older MacBook Pro which had a wonky screen thing going on which was getting worse. I did go to the Apple store and they gave me the old "this is going to cost you more money than it's worth, you should think about buying a newer machine" bit. Mine is older as a 2008 but it has been well taken care of, works great and like a lot of people, I don't have an endless supply of money to keep buying new. They had a look right away, suspected it was probably going to be the screen. Had one in the back, told me it would be ready later that day and cost around $200. It was ready even sooner and costed out as quoted. Don't go to them for a second opinion, make it a first. read more

Both Best Buy Geek Squad and Apple told me that it wouldn't be worth it to fix my 2015 macbook pro and that I should buy a new one and throw this 1 year old laptop out. Because the laptop had water damage I was not covered under the warranty that I purchased. After taking my laptop to multiple places and having to wait days for a diagnosis, Jack was able to tell me what was wrong with my laptop instantly (for free) and offer me a quote. The price was extremely reasonable considering there were multiple things wrong with it (and if you have a macbook with retina display you know how expensive parts are). He was able to repair my logic board and screen (LCD was broken) within 1 day at an affordable price and now my laptop looks good as new. He even offered a 90 day warranty in case anything happened-that goes to show he really knows what he's doing and trusts his service. Oh, what can I say about Fixmac... Well, like all modern-day fairy tales - it all began with me sending in an email inquiry and got a response shortly after. My problem: Shut down my desktop and has no more juice left in it to boot up (not even a response from the fan). Jack's insight: He stated that the power supply is gone and a new one is in order (if that was the case). Was told to swing on by for a quick diagnosis. Actual experience: Swung by right after work and was greeted right away (I mean... hauling over my desktop after a 10-hour shift on a Monday - I was more than thankful that he did). Found a power supply for Acer and plugged it in for a quick test - yup, it was the power supply. Left with a confirmation that it will be ready the next day and the price was quoted. Overall: Definitely, a happy customer and would recommend! Plus... maybe it is time to get an upgrade... (since the ol' gal can only take so much now). So... did I get a happily ever after? You know that feeling when you trust your mechanic to do a quality job on only the necessary repairs, on time and on budget? Well, you're lucky if you do because those kind of relationships are rare in my experience. Same thing with computer repair. When you don't understand the inner workings you are completely at the mercy of the repair person. Jack and Benny at Fix Mac are the best computer guys I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They take the time to explain what's wrong and deliver money saving, expert repairs and excellent advice every time. They've kept our 2009 27" iMac humming for the last several years and have saved us hundreds or even thousands of dollars we would have spent if we had had to replace it, as other shops have suggested. I honestly cannot express in words how great this place is. When I spilled water on my macbook I thought the laptop was done for, especially after the price estimate from the apple store, which will take a minimum of $400 dollars. Thanks to yelp, I found Fixmac and it's fantastic technicians who are knowledgable and works fast, all for a reasonable price. My mac was fixed in less than 24 hours, and only for the price of $250 dollars. A huge thanks to Benny, the technician that helped my save my computer, and all of my notes that were stored on the computer so that I actually have notes to study from. Spilled a cup of tea on my mid 2012 Macbook pro, wasn't too worried because I had Apple care. Took it to Apple store was told i needed a logic board and it was not covered by Apple care. I was told it would be cheaper to buy another Macbook. Did some research online and decided I would try to fix it myself, started taking it apart and after breaking a connector and letting some smoke out did some more research online and came across fixmac.ca. Website said if they can't fix it , no charge. Took Macbook pieces to fixmac, after the diagnosis they told me they could fix the logic board and repair my self inflicted damages for $300. Got my Macbook back after a week. Had a problem with Macbook not waking up after sleeping, took Macbook back and they fixed it for FREE, can't beat that for service. read more

I spilled a whole bottle of water on my Macbook Pro 13' retina display. I went to the apple store and they told me it was going to cost around $1500 CAD and that it could go up to $2000 CAD if they found more parts that needed to be replaced, so they just recommended me to buy a new computer but I wasn't going to do that since my computer was only a year and a half old. I researched online and read Fixmac's reviews and went to their store. It took only 4 days for them to repair it and they charged me $450 dollars. $450 is still expensive since I am a student and had to pay it with my part time job's salary but it was nothing compared to what I was going to pay for a new computer. I don't often feel compelled to write reviews, but this one I had to. I managed to screw up my computer one night real good with water damage. I called Fixmac minutes before closing and Jack offered to stay open later until I got there. He gave me a rough estimate on the spot, offered a free diagnostic and exact cost before any decisions were made. The cost was actually lower than what he initially quoted and a fraction of what it would've costed at an authorized dealer. It was a quick turnaround and they also offered other services such as backing up my old files and resetting the OS to get the system running fresh again. Jack is so wonderful! My macbook was completely water damaged - logic board gone, and according to the apple store, so was the hard drive and the display module. It was going to cost more to repair the computer than it would to buy a new laptop, so I took it in to Jack to confirm the damages and within 48 hours he had emailed me with a diagnosis. He was able to replace my logic board for a fraction of the cost that the apple store was asking and my computer is fully functional again! I'm a university student, so Jack had my laptop for about a week before I was able to get it back and he actually gave me a loaner laptop for the week. A few of my keys on my macbook pro retina stopped working. Took it in to Apple store and quoted me $700 for repair (replacement of keyboard, trackpad and battery). Apple said all parts in the macbook pro are "fused" together and cannot be replaced individually. Did some research online and youtube about taking apart the macbook pro - information from Apple was misleading. Called Fixmac for a quote and estimated time for repair. Took less than 2 business days for replacing the keyboard. Jack and his other co-worker were genuine and honest. It was a completely satisfying experience. I will definitely go back to them if there are further issues on my macbook pro. read more

My iMac was not responding, would not load, and a constant clicking sound. It must be the hard drive. I brought it in and he diagnosed and gave a free estimate. He replaced with a 1T hard drive almost the next day for $180 with a 1 year warranty. The guy was super friendly, explained everything, and suggested how to keep files safe in the future. He was even able to save a bunch of important files that i requested. I feel that they are people who are doing good work for a reasonable price. I have another non-responding laptop that I will bring in. Also they were selling HDMI cables for really cheap. I highly recommend this service centre. read more

I had a rain damaged retina screen in my 13" MacBook Pro. Since it is 4 years old, my Apple Care had run out, and I knew it would be really expensive to have Apple replace the screen. I found Fixmac through Yelp, and saw all of the 5 star reviews. I emailed Jack and asked him for a price to replace my screen. He emailed right back with the cost, and the time it would take. He said he could do it the next day. In 2 hours I had my new retina screen, at exactly the price he quoted, and he gave me a 90 day warranty! I was really impressed with Jack and Fixmac. I really didn't want to have to buy a new laptop for something so small, (it wasn't a large amount of coffee) so I emailed Jack from fixmac.ca and he replied fairly fast with a quote on a keyboard replacement and a timeframe of 2 to 3 hours...not days, hours!! "Drop it off anytime!!!" He fixed it with no hassles and after I picked it up, I realized my wifi must have gotten damaged so he quickly fixed that.
