The eggs were cooked perfectly. The rice was on the bland side. The refried beans were good. The sauce on my chilaquiles wasn't very good. It tasted scorched and had an underlying bitterness that I associate with burned food. The salsa did have a nice heat and I was able to use that to spice up my dish. If I went back, I would try a veggie burrito instead.

I decided to sit outside (despite the super warm day) because I had my pooch in tow, but the inside felt cool when I went in to get a table. I ordered a giant glass of iced tea (which automatically came with lots of ice--thank you)! The staff were friendly, and the food came out pretty fast. I enjoyed the fish & chips I ordered -- but can't say for sure if they were hand battered because the filets were too evenly coated and "homogeneous." They were giving a little bit of that "frozen to fryer" vibe -- but they were no less tasty. Fries were nicely seasoned and the tartar sauce was light on the acidity--nothing extra lemon couldn't solve for! I look forward to stopping by again when I am in the area. It's nice to see parts of the Bay that feel worlds away!

For the most part, the customer service is good. But all in all we usually enjoy our visit here. It's nice being able to have your mail and look outside and see a beautiful view of the Deltaboats on the water. A lot of people that are just for the weekend or are new to the area overall. Definitely a good spot to catch me at and at times ice cream and or nice cold beer.

The greeter and waiters were all very friendly. Unfortunately the catfish sandwich which was described as a "Delta favorite" deep fried and with a remoulade dressing was less than stellar. For $24 it was a very small catfish fillet, that seemed more pan fried and had some meager lettuce, onions, tomato and maybe there was some butter on the French roll. The roll was very soft as if it had come out a plastic bag. Wasn't toasted and overall bland. I expected a sandwich similar to a po-boy with classic corn-meal crusted catfish. This was not that. On the menu the sandwich came with a choice of fries or salad. The waiter offered onion rings as well which sounded good. The onion rings were huge but the batter was almost cake-like. Tasted like pancake batter and was so thick it was basically fried dough though there was so much batter the inside wasn't hot or crispy. Partner's French dip tasted fine but was also fairly small for the price over $25. The garlic fries were decent. Crispy and sticky with whatever garlic sauce was drizzled over. This is the kind of place I'd recommend to get a drink at the bar, look around at the animals that made this place notable, but find a meal elsewhere.

We ordered our food, expecting pretty standard pub fair but boy were we wrong. My grilled chicken sandwich was amazingly delicious! The chicken breast was well trimmed and grilled to perfection so it was juicy and easy to eat but not so damp it made the bun soggy. The no-nut pesto mayo was absolutely delicious, and the Tater Tots were all perfectly crunchy without being greasy, soggy, or over-cooked. My friend had the pulled pork. She normally doesn't eat much meat but she ate nearly all of it, complimenting on how soft, well shredded, and perfectly flavorful it was. Our friend had the steak sandwich and even commented on how well it was tenderized to make it the perfect tenderness for a sandwich. Well grilled, perfectly cooked, delicious flavor. The food was so good, we even ordered dessert. The lemon-cello cake was the perfect end. We can easily see how they get pretty busy given how good the food is for a pretty typical pub menu. I hate to say it, but that was a mistake. Not the drive down the Delta, but stopping here.. As other people have mentioned, it's a cool space with lots of character. I Head into the dining room, and they were pretty busy. I was kind of surprised, as it was a Wednesday. If they are this busy at lunchtime on a Wednesday, I can imagine what they are like on the weekend. I waited a few minutes to sit down, and then finally I walked over and asked the server if I could just sit anywhere. She said yes, I could. She came over to my table to give me my menu, asked what I wanted to drink, and brought it right back. She said she would be right back to take my order, it was about 10 minutes. It only goes downhill from here.... So she comes and takes my order. I ordered an appetizer of the grilled bread with marmalade and peanut butter, and for my lunch, I ordered the spaghetti Bolognese. She said, "I will bring you your appetizer first." So I wait, and I wait, and I wait... As I mentioned, there was a good number of people in the dining room, and there were also people ordering food while sitting in the the barroom. . She was the only one serving, and it looked like there was only one, possibly two people cooking. 30 minutes in, I don't even have my appetizer yet. I waved her down and asked her, and she said it will be soon, there's still a few people ahead of me waiting for their food. As I was watching, I noticed that food was coming out of the kitchen pretty slowly. 45 minutes in... Still, not even an appetizer. I was going to wait a few more minutes, but then I noticed something. I was watching the server. She was not only bringing food, she was handling money I watched her scratch her head, wipe her face with her hand, and then she even scratched her behind, although through her shorts that she was wearing. They were jeans, shorts, and to me, they seemed pretty short for working in a restaurant That was enough for me, I left. I decided to go back home via the other side of the river. I crossed over, and almost immediately found a bar and grill, where I decided to stop for lunch. The service was stellar, and the food was amazing. The prices were also very good. Sorry, Al, I'm not going to wait for number three. Two strikes, and you're out.
