The meat was high quality and the GF/keto bread acted and tasted like regular bread. I ordered whatever GF special they had listed and really enjoyed it. Looks like they had some pasta salads and desserts I would have loved to tried. Called ahead so pick up was quick and easy. $18 for a smaller sandwich kind of hurt, but the side quest joy made it worth it. From what I saw, no seating, just a counter for pick up. I was in Iselton today visiting a local community and the manager mentioned all of the great local eateries. He said The McBoodery was a must try. I usually stay away from sandwich shops because I find them disappointing most of the time. Not today though. I had one of the Best Pastrami sandwiches that I've ever had. We went down to isleton because of this spot, saw it was on a top 100 list for Yelp and had to see what the hype was all about. I can say, the hype is real and it's actually worth driving an hour for the sandwiches and zombies! A really cute shop and they have other stuff like cookies, deli sides, merch. The Bobby: A Loved the mortadella and pastrami. They pile the meat on! The mayonnaise and vinegar complement these meats well and the sourdough roll has a nice soft texture, very easy to bite into. Prosciutto and brie Zombie: A+ This is a must try. It's a brioche bun stuff with various filling options. I ordered the lunch special which was turkey, cranberry sauce, blue cheese crumbles and picked onions with mayo in a croissant and it all went tighter so well! The croissant was fresh and they made the order while I waited. My husband and mother tried the zombies which they said were delicious! We got a brownie as well as some pesto salad. They had an assortment of baked goods that all looked amazing! The food was made fairly quickly and they provided us with utensils and napkins. We stopped by this sandwich spot in Isleton, a small town right off River Road, and it ended up being one of the best food stops we've had in a while. We came in starving and picked it based on reviews and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Walking in, it's a small hole-in-the-wall with a ton of character. There's a lot to look at plants, sauces, mustards, desserts, and pastries it just feels like a place that cares about what they're doing. The staff were also incredibly friendly. They offer a build-your-own menu, plus a list of favorites on the back. I went with "The Bobby" (no tomatoes), and it was outstanding. Easily one of the best sandwiches I've had something I'd go back for regularly without hesitation. My dad has Celiac disease, so he ordered gluten-free. Anyone familiar with gluten-free bread knows it can sometimes fall apart, but that's not on this place and more importantly, he couldn't stop talking about how good his sandwich was. That says a lot. This place absolutely deserves five stars. Great people, great atmosphere, and seriously good sandwiches. We'll definitely be back. read more

This delightful family owned business is absolutely awesome. Mom and pop owned business are the best ever. It was a treat to find this treasure in this historic fascinating town of Isleton . ( which by the way is where Pat Morita the sensi star of karate kid was born June 28 1932 My daughter and I rolled in after reading their five star reviews and were not disappointed. She had a veggie sandwich on a fresh sourdough roll which she raved about. I had a turkey sandwich on soft fresh whole wheat bread and made fast work of it. The one small container of delicious potatoes salad disappeared quickly . It was that good! The lure of the unique zombies lured us in. For take home for later. This place is a little gem!! We recently took the scenic route from the east bay to el grove and were so happy we stopped in to grab some lunch!! It was our first time in Isleton and we just fell in love with it! Our sandwiches were absolutely delicious and the staff were super friendly, helpful and quick! They have such a cute decor. This is definitely a top-five hole in the wall place for me! Driving from Elk Grove to Antioch and saw passes by the town of Isleton. Drove down Main Street and saw this cool looking deli. Headed to Isleton to try out Mei Wah Beer Room and decided to grab lunch at The McBoodery. What a great find. The staff was super helpful and patient. The shop is very cute and unique inside. We got our sandwiches and 2 zombies to try. If you have never had a zombie, you must go and try them! It's like a calzone, but with sandwich type ingredients. The Taco zombie had taco meat and cheese inside and was SO delicious. We also tried the Ham and Cheese Zombie. Again, amazing! It was so tasty and different from your normal lunch. We ate our food at Mei Wah but walked back for desserts. We got the brownie, the cookie, and the strawberry short cake. They were all excellent, but the strawberry shortcake was off the charts. We also tried the Gluten Free Brownie, which was also a hit! They have plenty of street parking and are super easy to find. We will definitely be back, likely often! read more

I finally had a chance to drive up to Isleton to try a sandwich at McBoodery. I asked about the source for cold cuts and found out they don't use Boars Head. Yay!!! My first sammie was the toasted croissant ham/turkey with avocado/bacon. I went a bit crazy as it was my first time and picked up the bread pudding, the chocolate pudding?, the banana pudding, potato salad, and chocolate chip cookie. All of the food did not disappoint. I have since been back twice. Both times for the roast beef sammie. I am tempted to try a zombie but just not sure I would enjoy it. It's a bit out of my way as we are 25 miles from the location but maybe a trip once a week will be a good thing! read more
