HIGHLY RECOMMEND! A coworker recommended this sandwich shop to us. They are on the Yelp's 2025 Top 100 Sandwich Shops in the Country, and well- deserving. We are almost never in the small, non-assuming town of Isleton unless we're driving to or from Stockton. But this little sandwich shop is way worth the stop - go check them out! Food was amazing!! After eating here, I cannot eat at any other sandwich shop again. Seriously! It's that good. We ordered The Bobby with Sourdough Roll, Pastrami, Mortadella, Provolone, Mayonnaise, Dijon Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Oil & Vinegar - delicious and a hearty size. We also got The Angela with Croissant, Roast Beef, Pepper Jack Cheese, Mayonnaise, Dijon Mustard, Pepperoncini Peppers, Sprouts, Tomato, Red Onion. Both sandwiches were delicious. We also ordered two zombie sandwiches for a light dinner later that night. They are like bread buns stuffed with sandwich meat and cheese. Very good! You can have them heat the zombies for you. Service was great. The guy who took our order was friendly, respectful, and attentive. They have bottled drinks, chips, and jams and other items from local family-owned businesses. There's no indoor or outdoor seating, so plan to order and go! There's only a small entrance and ordering area inside the restaurant. You really can't go wrong with a sandwich from McBoodery. Their homemade bread is incredible and makes every sandwich stand out. The portions are generous, each sandwich is beautifully made, and somehow tastes even better than it looks. Always watching on instagram for the thanksgiving zombie Don't skip dessert! They make them fresh in-house, and they're absolutely worth saving room for. I have a habit of saving restaurants when I see/hear about them around that world so that one day if I'm in the neighborhood I can put up my map and see if I have anywhere nearby I can try. That's how I ended up here. Not sure where I originally heard of it, but it was pinned and so I went. Tasty, tasty sandwiches. The meat was high quality and the GF/keto bread acted and tasted like regular bread. I ordered whatever GF special they had listed and really enjoyed it. Looks like they had some pasta salads and desserts I would have loved to tried. Called ahead so pick up was quick and easy. $18 for a smaller sandwich kind of hurt, but the side quest joy made it worth it. From what I saw, no seating, just a counter for pick up. We went down to isleton because of this spot, saw it was on a top 100 list for Yelp and had to see what the hype was all about. I can say, the hype is real and it's actually worth driving an hour for the sandwiches and zombies! A really cute shop and they have other stuff like cookies, deli sides, merch. The Bobby: A Loved the mortadella and pastrami. They pile the meat on! The mayonnaise and vinegar complement these meats well and the sourdough roll has a nice soft texture, very easy to bite into. Prosciutto and brie Zombie: A+ This is a must try. It's a brioche bun stuff with various filling options. I usually stay away from sandwich shops because I find them disappointing most of the time. Not today though. I had one of the Best Pastrami sandwiches that I've ever had. Their chip selection was what to expect from a deli so they will for sure have what you like, drinks are about the same. The service was perfect. From the order to the built sandwich was 5 stars. I have been wanting to try this sandwich shop. I ordered the lunch special which was turkey, cranberry sauce, blue cheese crumbles and picked onions with mayo in a croissant and it all went tighter so well! The croissant was fresh and they made the order while I waited. My husband and mother tried the zombies which they said were delicious! We got a brownie as well as some pesto salad. They had an assortment of baked goods that all looked amazing! The food was made fairly quickly and they provided us with utensils and napkins. Incredible little deli we stopped at on our way to Sacramento. Everything we got here was delicious -- we got a turkey blt and a variation on an Italian sub on a sourdough roll. ( which by the way is where Pat Morita the sensi star of karate kid was born June 28 1932 My daughter and I rolled in after reading their five star reviews and were not disappointed. She had a veggie sandwich on a fresh sourdough roll which she raved about. I had a turkey sandwich on soft fresh whole wheat bread and made fast work of it. The one small container of delicious potatoes salad disappeared quickly . It was that good! The lure of the unique zombies lured us in. For take home for later. We stopped by this sandwich spot in Isleton, a small town right off River Road, and it ended up being one of the best food stops we've had in a while. We came in starving and picked it based on reviews and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Walking in, it's a small hole-in-the-wall with a ton of character. There's a lot to look at plants, sauces, mustards, desserts, and pastries it just feels like a place that cares about what they're doing. The staff were also incredibly friendly. They offer a build-your-own menu, plus a list of favorites on the back. I went with "The Bobby" (no tomatoes), and it was outstanding. Easily one of the best sandwiches I've had something I'd go back for regularly without hesitation. My dad has Celiac disease, so he ordered gluten-free. Anyone familiar with gluten-free bread knows it can sometimes fall apart, but that's not on this place and more importantly, he couldn't stop talking about how good his sandwich was. That says a lot. This place is a little gem!! We recently took the scenic route from the east bay to el grove and were so happy we stopped in to grab some lunch!! It was our first time in Isleton and we just fell in love with it! Our sandwiches were absolutely delicious and the staff were super friendly, helpful and quick! They have such a cute decor.
