Rio has very few places to eat and the newest hot spot is Haps. The staff are attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and quick. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoors is great for and dogs . There's corn hole and other outdoor games for all. Many beers on tap and wine . For the historians Haps used to be a bait shop back in the day. Stopped here for lunch on the way to Lodi. The service was friendly, personal, and prompt. We sat outside so our 5 year old could play with all the toys and we could enjoy the nice weather. I particularly appreciate that the picnic tables all have umbrellas and are spacious and sturdy, which is important for those of us in bigger bodies' comfort. The food was absolutely delicious. The kiddo got the grilled cheese and tots, and the owner Misty even let her pick out her own juice box which she absolutely loved. My fiancée and I got burgers, he got tots and I got the sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious, fresh and hot. The burgers were thick and juicy, and definitely made fresh, not frozen. When you sit down they have a QR code to scan, peruse the menu, and order right to your table. But if you want a paper menu, they have them available as well. Hubby got a burger with fries; burger was in a delicious brioche bun, and oh so tasty with mushroom, onions, and gooey cheese. Fries were ok only because I prefer them crispy/well done. I got the wings (10 wings) with garlic parmesan and honey Sriracha. Wings were crispy in the outside and juicy on the inside. Looks like they have a few beers on tap but I don't drink. We ordered and shared two of their appetizers with a flight of beer and then decided to order individually in our choice of beer in a glass. My family and I came to Hap's Taps last Friday night after Foster's Bighorn and had a blast. We sat outside in their tent and basically had it all to ourselves - thanks to the staff who were very accommodating to our large group with kids. It was pretty chilly so they also turned on those heated lamps and it got pretty toasty in there. Oh and can't forget that they also brought out this huge connect 4 for the kids. Service was great! We ordered a few beers and small plates. They came out fast and overall we had a great time. I think we left around 9pm which was past my kids bedtime lol. So big question - would I come back? Love this place. It was perfect for a bite after a long day at work. I tried the Honey Hole with crispy chicken and a side of tater tots. Both were cooked perfectly. The sandwich was excellent! I normally don't like sweet sandwiches, but the coleslaw wasn't overly sweet and pickles added the right amount of tart. Service was great too. Had an issue using a gift card but they still took care of it without any problem. I do wish they had more drink options for non-drinkers who don't care for soda.
