I'm glad I went with the Mac because the portion of fries was relatively small. Nonetheless, the process to early was simple, the staff was courteous, and they didn't take very long to make it. First, you pay a premium eating at Woodbury. A Big Mac meal at McDonald's is $14. The shop bacon cheeseburger was about $16. It says it's made from Waygu beef though it is definitely better than a Big Mac but it is just an ok burger for me, not one that costs $16 or even $10. Service was almost non-existence due to staff shortage. The guy who ran the register had to go back to kitchen to help to get the orders out and there are only 2 other guys who worked there. Our fries were fresh but the burger was not ready so when we got our order the fries were no longer fresh. Management can definitely do better with staffing. I understand this is at a food court but if you are charging a premium on food, I think you should try to do a little better to earn your business. read more

Got some lunch from here on our day trip to Woodbury commons. Not too many people, easy to put in an order quickly. The menu looks mouthwatering. But when I got my chicken sandwich, it was utter disappointment. Just plain bread, with a piece of chicken and barely some mayo on it, just to check off the box. Did not acknowledge customer. Gathered in group, having a loud boisterous conversation with lots of laughs, still not paying attention or looking to see if there were customers. The female was the rudest of all. After a long while she did glance in the direction, but never even said hello or anything. I finally interrupted and asked the female if my food was even being made, she got annoyed at that, but she said yes after the second time I asked. A few minutes later, my food was ready, the older guy had been the one to cook the food. The female handed my food to me, and was then acknowledging me, when I was leaving, but by this time, but it was way to little way too late. This is so sad... The workers should have been at stations, not gathered around just BS'ing, There should have been one or two workers that as soon as a customer walks up, those workers instantly acknowledge the customer. Throughout the process, a worker without having to be asked, should let the customer know that their food is being prepared and would be out shortly. At a minimum, the workers should have said, Hello, I can help you or you can order at the kiosk, your food is being prepared now and will be out shortly, thank you for ordering from the Melt Shop, enjoy your food and have a nice day. Last thing, I only went to the Melt Shop because there was no one there getting food, and all the other places in the terminal to eat had lines. You should be asking yourselves why you were not getting customers, maybe its because the workers were being so loud and boisterous that no one else wanted to deal with them. Maybe in order to save labor, you may want to rethink the amount of workers you have there at that time, only one person was working while the others were stealing time. and not providing the service they were hired to provide. Melt Shop is a solid place for fast food if you love cheese and sandwich. We were there without many choices in the food court of Woodbury Outlet. The staff was rude, reluctant and served everything slowly. There was a long line during lunch time but the staff did not have a sense of urgency and just talked to each other. We had their signature chicken sandwich - Nashville Hot Chicken and 3 pieces of chicken strips with hot honey sauce and fries. So disappointed. My korean bbq burger sounded so good on the menu. Well, I unwrapped my burger but it looked like it was squished by someone mistaking it for making a snowball. Young man at the register had eaten the sandwich previously so could respond to my questions so I took the risk and ordered. My thoughts: I love the flavor and would have eaten three more if given the opportunity. It's a sandwich portion but sooooo tasty. I LIKE goat cheese so I did not find it over/powering. I did not deconstruct to examine but it seemed a bit light on the shrooms. The arugula provides a bright peppery note. I was looking to get out of the city today and figured I'd head north and explore different areas. I saw the Melt Shop right around where I wanted to explore so I thought it would be the perfect destination and I'd just make the rest of my day revolve around this food! Almost 2 hours later I arrive and the damn place is closed!!! Lights out closed! It says it opens mid-day today and has hours listed!! Only a small section on their site discloses it's temporarily closed.... after the fact for me. So I got the next best thing, Chipotle With free double guac... that was nice!!! When selecting 5 Stars Yelp illuminates a confirmation that says, and I quote, "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" Is Melt Shop really, Woohoo, As good as it gets? No, not even close. However, in so far as food courts go, Melt Shop sits firmly atop the pile making them the Woohoo, As good as it gets in that particular genre. Now, I'll go one step farther and declare their BLT on of the best I've ever eaten and folks, I've eaten a crapload of BLTs. Bread is beautifully artisanal, lettuce, cold fresh and crisp, tomatoes ripe and delicious and bacon that's absolutely spectacular. Now, in interest of full disclosure, food court food generally sucks so the bar is set noticeably lower than it would ordinarily be. But quite honestly, if I ordered this BLT at a pricey Manhattan eatery and was charged say $18 for it, I wouldn't have complained a bit. Yeah, it's that good. We should have run when one of the girls making food had a ponytail down to her thighs with NO hair net but she didn't pack our food. A let down. We ordered grilled cheese, cheesesteak, burger melt, chicken fingers. They didn't look anything like the ones "advertised" in Google Map. Totally overhyped reviews. The grilled cheese was dry, while the burger melt was a grilled cheese version with some bad meat on top, which by the way, wasn't a burger. It was minced meat from last week. The cheesesteak wasn't like the one advertised where you can dip in the cheese sauce. The sauce was so dry and totally tasteless. The chicken was disappointing. If you're looking for a decent place to eat at the Outlets, try others but not the Melt Shop. We spent $62 for bad food and meh shakes and hyped spring water. This is just in the food court of the Woodbury Outlets. As most shoppers, after I was done, I was starving and this place was new so I decided to try it. I was v excited because I looked up foods around the area and this place looked bomb. I got the buffalo chicken grilled cheese and it was really good. Although, I wish the chicken resembled the photo they used. They use like a thick, big piece of chicken and it's not bad but it just wasn't expected and somewhat hard to eat. I got the shop tots and they were very good. Your usual tater tots with parmesan and cilantro. My friends got the loaded and the cheese tots and the cheese on both of them were questionable. It made me glad I stuck with regular tots. I got their strawberry lemonade and that was good. Don't think I'd really be back, it was good but nothing too stand out that I had to come back. Unfortunately, this location falls a bit flat in both service and food and leaves a lot to be desired. The staff seemed absent-minded and fairly dismissive of customers when they would inquire about menu items, in addition to spending more time socializing among themselves rather than attending to the line, which as you can imagine, can grow quite quickly during peak afternoon and evening hours. When it comes to the food itself, this is standard cafeteria fare. The grilled cheese is uninspired and greasy while you have to pay upwards of $3.00 for add-ons. The tots were typical of what you'd find in the frozen aisle of your local grocery store and accompanied by a so-called 'housemade' cheese sauce; a salty, unnaturally flavored concoction that tastes anything but. The purportedly 'homemade' tomato soup similarly had a distinct store-bought flavor. And therein lies my recurring criticism of Melt Shop. While none of the food was particularly bad, everything I tried was underwhelming and less-than-satisfying. Melt Shop boasts of offering homemade comfort food with artisanal ingredients that is "better than our mom's", but it didn't even manage to be better than my old high school lunch line. I am a realist when it comes to food court eats so I certainly wasn't expecting a Michelin-star meal or anything, but at least aspire to be at the level of Pret A Manger or Au Bon Pain-- two other gourmet sandwich chains with locations @ Woodbury Commons as well. read more

Had the roasted veggies sandwich with added grilled cheese on multigrain bread. It had the possibility of being a four star meal yet it was overpowered with goat cheese. Too much Goat cheese gives the pasty ugh taste and therefore my sandwich was no longer pleasing. I couldn't even finish it. Their homemade melt sauce was ok, a spin of a chipotle mayo by it wasn't enough to revive my meal. The Oreo shake was good, not a must try but if your in the mood I would recommend.
