Super disappointed with our experience tonight. We waited 45 minutes for our food only for the starters to come out with the main course. The croutons in the salad were soggy and the pizza was cold, which meant it sat in the kitchen for a while. Our server graciously took the pizza off the bill, but the pizza was inedible at its current temperature. She offered to remake it, but we really didn't want to sit there another 45 minutes. In general, we like the Mellow Mushroom, but the service and product has been really uneven. You just kind of don't know what you're going to get. read more

The service at this establishment is awful. I've been twice to this location and it isn't a fluke. Their ability to serve the food anywhere near at the same time is impossible. We received our meals, one at a time, over 20+ minutes. Also they are always out of something we want to order and it is frustrating. We won't be back. read more

A salad a day keeps the doctor away, or that's what I'm trying to tell myself. I somehow had the willpower to order a salad for lunch instead of pizza at @mellowmushroom. I built my own Big Salad with a base of spinach and topped with chicken, green apples, and banana peppers. The BYO salad comes with three toppings, and it was so hard to pick since there was such a wide assortment of veggies and cheeses to choose from. I love having fruit in my salad, so the green apples were a wonderful, crunchy addition. The spinach was fresh and crisp. The chicken though, I think it was the best grilled chicken I've ever had in a salad. It was so flavorful and just melted in my mouth. The pickled banana peppers were your standard, run of the mill, from a jar peppers, but excellent nonetheless. I requested ranch on the side, not pictured, and it was a huge cup of homemade creamy, tangy goodness. I personally use the @hungrygirl method of dipping my fork in dressing instead of pouring. However, I would drank this dressing with a straw, it was so good. Yes this was a pretty basic salad, but that homemade ranch and perfectly seasoned grilled chicken knocked it out of the park. Only downside was that it took forever to get my food. Our lunch took over an hour for 7 people, and we only got salads or slices of pizza. We ordered take out from here the next week. The BYO Salad price was different online. I splurged and got more toppings. I ordered normal grilled chicken, and I was disappointed it was not the same kind of chicken as my prior chicken. Also, I requested Roasted Red Peppers, however the chef must have been confused and accidentally gave me Sun-dried Tomatoes instead LOLZ!! I ordered the Esperanza dressing since my coworkers all love it and say it's "like crack" but it was just a little too sour for me. I was told to dip my pizza crust in it, and I still didn't enjoy it. I ate 1 slice of the Pacific Rim pizza. I really wanted the Maui Wowie, but I guess you can't order it online. Pizza is just okay. The real reason I come to Mellow is for the Pretzel Bites, Free if you join their email club! They're served with both marinara and beer cheese. The bites are the perfect size for popping in your mouth, but a little too small for dipping unless you use a fork. read more

I'm a fan of the whole Mellow Mushroom chain. They have bangin pizza, delicious apps and salads, and a cool hippie vibe. This location has a large bar area on one side, and more open seating on the other. Service here can be a little slow at times, but overall it's pretty good! I usually go to the downtown location, but I ended up here during my lunch break with some coworkers. They have a better variety of lunch specials than the downtown location, with different combo options like a slice of pizza & a side salad, a hoagie and chips, etc. I love love love their salads; they're always fresh and their homemade dressing are delicious! Plus, you can't go wrong pairing one with any of their yummy pizzas! The servers I've had have always been friendly. However, it can take a while to get your food. Our "quick lunch" ended up being well over an hour due to a long wait time from the kitchen. Our server apologized, and our food was great, so overall it was a pleasant experience! read more

I've been told how wonderful mellow mushroom is, every year after the championship soccer the team has come to mellow mushroom. Well this year brand new to the team we were excited to go. Only to find out even with a whole section open they wouldn't seat us, told us to wait an hour for the patio. Even though there was enough seating in the building. When we said we'd just sit as families is there any way to make it work. The manager told us with the most disgusting disrespectful tone I've heard in customer service to go somewhere else. We understood they didn't have enough staff but they weren't busy. Had plenty of room and we would have been willing to be patient and wait. However the rudeness that we were shown was uncalled for and I will not be going to this restaurant ever! I will inform everyone I know to go somewhere else. My family just ate here. We had an awful time. When we ordered our Pizza our waitress indicated the pizzas would take 30 minutes to cook. She then put the order and went to chit chat with the same cooks who would be cooking our pizza, obviously slowing the process. I can't blame her though since the rest of the wait staff was chit chatting amongst themselves too, not really paying much attention to their tables. Our our cheese pizza took the FULL 30 minutes AFTER we ordered, and then was undercooked, so much that it was doughy. Not a big deal. However when we asked about it the manager agreed it it was wrong and offered to re-make it. No Apologies. So while waiting for our second cheese pizza, we noticed the pizza maker wiping his running nose in the open kitchen and continuing to stick his hand on the dough he was preparing, not cool. When we confronted the management staff about it, they offered to take the Pizza of our bill, again no apologies and general lack of caring. We went early hoping to miss the rush, and we did. We are not upset the mistakes, but the Staff was horrible and due to the no of remorse and general lack of caring we will not be returning to this location and the Bluffton, SC Mellow Mushroom thanks you very much. read more

We split a small make-your-own pizza that had a yummy garlic flavor going on in the crust. Our plate was nearly empty by the time our MIA server came back to check on how the food was. This seems to be the place to work if you're under 21 and are only moderately interested in working just hard enough to get a tip. No marinara sauce on this. I also got a chef salad, which was not that great. I think it's just cold pizza toppings tossed together. I do like the mozzarella cheese on it -- If you are from Pittsburgh, you'll know what I mean when I say it's like a salad made with cold toppings. I love cold mozz on a cooked pizza! But I digress...
