We were seated right away on this Father's Day Sunday, and beverages were soon to follow. They have an open kitchen if watching the cooks is your thing and flat screens show various sporting events. Pizza wasn't even warm when it came out. We asked to have it heated. Server said they would have to make it again since a bite was taken. We waited, and waited, and inquired.... finally told that there was a 40 pizza to go order holding things up, but ours was being remade simultaneously. After waiting a considerable amount of time longer, we were told that it would be coming out soon. We cancelled the order instead and left without eating any pizza. No manager ever approached us. Terrible. The Cosmic Karma pizza: NO pesto swirl (it's what makes it tasty) and burned on edges. Just tasted salty. The Enlightened salad: NO "house made CANDIED pecans"--just a few pecan pieces, apple pieces so tart we couldn't eat them. The dried cherries were just clumped in a big wad. Someone dumped in so much feta we scraped most of it out. Verdict? No one cares. Sadly, won't be returning and won't recommend to visitors. read more

We were hungry and decided to give Mellow Mushroom in Pooler a try, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. I ordered a custom pizza with pepperoni, pineapple, and beef, while my wife chose one of the menu pizzas. Sadly, neither was very good--the ingredients just didn't seem up to par, and the flavor was lacking. The wings were average at best, and the celery and carrot sticks weren't fresh, which added to the underwhelming experience. The service was okay, but the restaurant was really busy, which might have contributed to the overall inconsistency. My wife and I had a very pleasant experience while dining there twice in the last two weeks. On both occasions we enjoyed the food. However, our second experience was memorable because of our server, Sarah. She was bright, cheerful and genuine. Most importantly, Sarah was very attentive and eager to please. We hope that the management realizes what a great asset this young woman is to their restaurant. The only negative from our experience was the absence of tonic water from their "full bar. OK so it's our second time at mellow mushroom. Our first time was near the house. Let's see if it's as consistent as the first time, as it was delicious off Reinhard Road. So we got a small pepperoni and cheese, a mighty pizza, or something like that, cloud nine wings, and a Greek salad... as I look around I'm noticing they need to do a little bit of cleanup so we're gonna have to start off at 4 stars. Sorry guys, step your cleanup game up as it's more than enough employees to have someone sweeping and wiping the tables. It's even one table that has a rag and a spray bottle on it that an employee did not take the time to go ahead and knock it out. Our in person experience was just as good as our takeout experience! The hostess greeted us when we came in and sat us down quickly in a nice sized booth. Our waitress was kind and attentive. We decided to start with the pretzel bites and they were amazing! For drinks, I got the red sangria and my husband got a Miller Lite and both were good. To eat, we ordered the steak and cheese calzone and we did not know it was that huge! It was delicious! If anything I think I would rather go to MODs and have my own personalized pizza for half the price. We ordered the Sriracha honey wings and they came out overcooked and tasted like dry chicken breast. They needed more sauce. We got the Pacific Rim for the pizza and once again very mid. This was the first time we had gone to The Mellow Mushroom Pizza place. The pizza was good. The service was okay. The time it took to get the pizza was way way too long. The place seems to be aimed towards families with Spiderman on the ceiling and other characters around. There were really a lot of employees, many young. We were the only people for a while. The next group that came in, they sat them right next to us, so you had to hear each others conversations. That was unacceptable, almost rude. The place was empty, why sit people next to each other if it was not necessary. They could have been 3 booths away instead of the booth on the other side of the very very short partition. You had 6 booths 3 on each side with the short partition between. There were also big booths and tables. The bar was all higher furniture. I gave fewer stars because of how they sat you and the time to get the pizza over a half hour. The boys that were cooking seemed to be have fun and talking. I'm not sure if that added to the time it took to cook pizza. It was probably around 3:15 in the afternoon when we arrived. read more

The pies are baked in a hot stone oven. They also have a nice craft beer selection. Their signature crust tastes like it may have more wheat in it than normal and is super tasty! They brag that they use spring water in addition to a high protein wheat flour. FAVORITE PIES - Holy Shiitake Unquestionably my favorite! It's a white sauce pizza, so don't order if you are in mood for traditional tomato sauce. However do order if you want a non-traditional pizza taste bud explosion. Olive oil and garlic base, shiitake, button and portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, mozzarella, and a special Parmesan cheese. Finished with a garlic aioli swirl and a spritz of black truffle oil. It is truly crazy worthy! - Mighty Meaty My wife's favorite. Red sauce base with mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, ham and applewood smoked bacon. As the name implies, this is a high protein meat lovers pizza. They don't skimp of the meat as it brings out the carnivore in you. OTHER PIES - Wild in Havana We tried for first time tonight as a half pizza. Jerk marinated pork, ham, salami, Swiss and mozzarella cheeses, diced pickles, and mayo-mustard drizzle. It was good. Reminded me of a Cuban sandwich. It was a little spicy and tasty, but warning for those that don't like a little spice. Not sure if spice was in the meat, mustard-Mayo or just added seasoning. I really enjoyed as it added variety with dinner, but I personally wouldn't order as the only pizza. It came with a lot of meat, which was nice. The pickles were not traditional pizza topping but were delicious. They were quality deli-style pickles! ATMOSPHERE We ordered pickup tonight, and all employees were wearing masks. It's a great, fun atmosphere for dining in. You can see into the kitchen where the dough is being flung into the air to stretch it into a nice circle. They have a large sculpture at front entrance, which is swapped out over time so you never know what is going to greet you. It could be a superhero, or a large robot, or perhaps some large cartoon character. The have a separate bar area with plenty of seating and lots of craft beer on tap. TIPS - Leftovers We always order more pizza than we need for one dinner so we can enjoy leftovers. The three of us eat one large, but we ordered two large pies tonight. Even though we order non traditional pizzas, they are easily reheated without losing their soul, just like your everyday pizza pies. Don't be shy of the microwave. -Pickup Orders If you choose pickup, you can order online easily from their website. They provide a pickup time, so you know when to arrive. They also have a separate door to make pickups quick and easy back by the kitchen. Arrived home from business trip early this morning and there were two Mellow Mushroom pizzas in the delivery boxes in my driveway...in the rain. Can't believe pizza delivery would leave pizzas at the end of a driveway. Why not left by the front door....no clue. I obviously did not order the pizzas. Had a slip with another local address tucked in the top box. Looked like they were in my driveway for a day or two. The restaurant is observing social-distancing guidelines, which I appreciated very much. There is ample parking. The restaurant has super hero decor, which was fun. I love mellow mushrooms because they always have like a little structure outside and they have a transformer one inside and the food is just so great and they have little papers with activities that your kids can do and what I like about that is that not most restaurants have the activity papers for entertainment. Ordered a delivery order for the "pretzel" bites, a calzone and two of their cookies. The "pretzel" bites should not be called pretzel bites but rather pizza dough bites. They were chewy and tough. The calzone was made from the same dough and the majority of it was nearly flat, like a thin crust pizza. The cheese was tough and chewy as well. The cookies were fair. All in all, we ate two to three dough bites and 1/3 of the calzone because it simply was not good. Taste was below average and the dough was tough and chewy. Atmosphere - 5 stars Food - 5 stars Service - 5 stars Background - My daughter lives with her mom in the area.  Every visit we go to a Mellow Mushroom.  Whether in Savannah or Pooler, mostly to this location.  I have lost count. Atmosphere - First thing that grabs your eyes in the large robot at the hostess stand.  The place is filled with art from movies.  The place has super high ceilings and can get loud fast.  Tonight we were here early and the volume was not to bad. Food Drink - One of the reasons I like this place is a great beer selection.  I had two tonight.  First was Scofflaw Basement IPA.  This was followed by a brew that was created for the chain by Laguantis, Mellow Dog Daze.  Another solid IPA. Appetizer - My daughter told me that she wanted the pretzel bites before I had even checked in on the app.  Bam the bites are free with a check in.  Thanks to Yelp and Mellow Mushroom.  We normally get the pretzels and surprised that she wanted somethings else. Pizza - We went with a classic tonight.  A simple large pepperoni  that feed the three of us with ease.  The pepperoni were a little greasy but a little napkin padding took care of that.  My wife had a gluten free pizza, which the dough is made in house.  She loved it.  The pizza only comes in the 10 inch size, which is pretty much the norm as the lack of gluten makes it difficult to create a larger pizza.
