It's an awful shame how overdue this review is. I've been to Bootleggers (ate, drank and did karaoke) more than a couple times. I love how big it is and that you can eat, play pool, get drunk, do karaoke, chill outside in the smoking area and just be hidden if that's your thing. The bartenders are quick and efficient and bootleggers has some of the best wings I've had in the Pooler/savannah area (they're for sure top 3). Every-time I've came here it's been a time to remember and I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a good laid back time. Sorry I don't have any pictures (trust me)! I stopped in recently on a Friday night for my first time and I really enjoyed the food/drinks. Unfortunately, some of the staff lacked good customer service from the security to the bartenders. There were at least 5 bartenders and several of them only flocked to the men at the bar and failed to pay any attention to the women trying to get service. If there is only one person working, try to sit at the bar or close to the bar. It might take some time to get your drinks and food but I'd say it's worth it. Had a very spirited conversation with Bugsy and another patron about Sarah Maas and her universes of crazy wonderful women and honestly, it made my whole vacation! The ambiance is definitely giving speakeasy vibes. Our drinks were pretty good and the charcuterie board was yum. The crab cakes were cooked well and would have been 10/10 for me but the sauce that came with them was just a bit too spicy for my delicate constitution. read more

We've visited several bars & restaurants in Savannah but we came upon Bootleggers during our stay at River Street Inn this time and boy are we glad we went in!! The bartender Lucky is a great bartender - he can & will make you an unbelievable cocktail! The place is definitely old school down to every aspect of the decor, music, and vintage photos. It's really funny that they say in their description that "every corner holds a hint of a story of rebellion". RIGHT. I won't go into the story because it's not worth my time. Meh.. typical dive bar. Very dark, can't see the bar at all almost but the vibe was pretty chill. Played bar poker, had some wings, drinks and it was aight. I plan to come back next time I'm in the area as everyone here was super friendly. No one really recommended the food but I was starving so lemon pepper it was. Ordered from here a few times on Uber eats and the first couple times it was great. But this last time they didn't include fries and the poor driver had to make a second trip out there, plus my burger had pickles instead of jalapeños (I'd ordered the Some Like it Hot). My boyfriend noted as well that his burger tasted nothing like it did the previous times. The bacon on his cheeseburger was burnt and it was loaded with red onion instead of white, and the onion taste overwhelmed the whole thing. UPDATE: The fries arrived and they were nothing like they were the first few times. They were crispy and good before but these fries we just got were soggy and visibly different. We're completely disappointed and will never eat here again. read more

Nice decor, but lacks definition. Has potential, but dead on a Friday. Claim to be a country bar, and play country music. Then out of blue, dramatic music change. This had to be the worst bar food I have ever had....I ordered the grilled chicken wrap and it came out looking like a quesadilla. There are not many options for a drink if you're away from downtown Savannah, but Bootleggers is conveniently located in Pooler off Hwy. 80. I had been to this bar when it was previously Tommy's and it hasn't changed much (still lots of dart boards!). I stopped in for a drink before going to my hotel (next door...also convenient) and it was early on a Friday night, the band was just getting started. Good spot to plan on hanging out for a few; listen to music, play some games, drink some beers. No cover charge, which is nice. The bartenders were attentive and friendly, I would go back next time I'm nearby. read more

I use to love this bar. I would go for darts & began to love it. The bartenders were awesome & the DJ was terrific!! I've started going back recently to find the DJ is gone, management is terrible. If you like to people watch, this is your place! Wide variety of people come to Bootleggers and that's what I like about it. I also like the fact that they have several dart boards (I may suck but I still enjoy playing) & they also have about 3 pool tables (I suck at that too but it's better than sitting at home!). The drinks were reasonably priced and 2 bartenders actually made a very tasty margarita. Of course I had to ask for the more expensive tequila. I'm not as young as I use to be and cheap tequila is a no no. So I've been about 3 times and I've enjoyed myself each time. One time they had a band and charged a small cover fee (less than $5). To my surprise the band was decent. They also have a DJ and if he's playing tons of booty music, it's probably because my friends requested it. Sorry if that's not your thing but we don't get out that much and sometimes girls just need to dance. Fingers crossed they get some more tv's in time for football season!! read more
