The wife and I went to the Mellow Mushroom the other day and decided to stray from our usual menu choice of pizza. The wife decided to try the Mushroom soup while I went with the BBQ wings. We also ordered Balsamic Bruschetta with tomato and basil as an appetizer. Every bit of this meal was deliciously delightful. The atmosphere of the restaurant was laid back and comfortable. Tried a new combination of a Mighty Meaty pizza and Holy Shiitake Pie. I am not a big fan of mayonnaise so I was reluctant about the garlic aioli sauce that came on the Shiitake side of my pie. I loved the mushrooms and shaved parmesan, but the aioli just did not sit right with me. I think next time I will substitute a garlic infused olive oil with truffles combo. This was my first visit to this establishment and it seemed well staffed in the front of house, yet we waited a very long time to have been acknowledged by our server and than to place our orders. We started our meals with the cheese bread. Both the bread and the marinara were delicious. My daughter in law ordered the steak and cheese hoagie, I ordered the meatball sub and my grandson got the meatballs. We were NOT disappointed in the food at all as the sandwiches were quite large and there was enough leftover for my son. Food is good!, however we ordered on line and had a pick up time of 6:42p we got our pizza at 7:39p. They were swamped but basically only 3 young ladies working as fast and hard as they could but was told 3 times pizza was in the oven so not sure this was true. Most fun eating pizza at both local locations! They each are unique and have personal clientele and charm that sets them apart. I love both!! Mainly frequent Evans since I live nearby and it is spotless and bright and witty and the FOOD US AWESOME ! This is my first time visiting this Mellow Mushroom location. I think it's great. I always forget that a location is close to me. Today, I ventured out in the rain to grab take-out. This location is in the Evans area and the traffic is a little more frequent on this side of town. I like this location. It seems larger than the downtown and the bar in particular seemed to be the hot spot. Many of the guests were seated there. You must also place take-out orders at the bar. The waitress was quick and nice. She took my order and I paid right away. My food was ready to in about 15 minutes. I hung out at a table while they prepared my food. I noticed they have outdoor seating with outdoor heaters. This is one of the few places you can sit outdoors in the cooler months. The heaters are a major plus. I ordered the Mushroom Club and Hummus. Both were great! I love that they have clear take-out containers, which allows you to take a look at your food while you are still inside. I will probably be here again in the near future, but next time I think I'll dine in and possibly sit at the bar. read more

I have been to a few Mellow Mushroom locations and I'm always eager to see what the theme inside looks like. This location looked more like a pre-school party spot! I was waiting for a clown to walk out and take my order. - Variety of food, great quality - Fantastic service - Quirky theme - No weekly specials As usual the food was fantastic, I have always received consistent quality, especially with the pizzas. After having tried over a dozen of their different pizza types over the last few years I am continuously impressed that I get what I pay for and then some. Who knew pizza could make your taste-buds explode? If didn't mind becoming a 300lb glutton I would stop by on a weekly basis. On top of the mouth watering menu, the service is always excellent. The friendly staff here are a breath of fresh air for the region that lacks in customer service and quality. It seems you have to find a chain restaurant to be treated like a valuable customer. I arrived at the Mellow Mushroom at around 5pm today and was warmly greeted by the hostesses. I was promptly seated and my server introduced herself and felt instantly at home due mostly from her genuine smile and enthusiastic energy. I ordered the 16" Vegan pizza with all the vegetables and was pleasantly surprised to find how hot the pizza was when it arrived at my table and had a ton of vegetables. I would say the pizza was just about perfect with the exception of some of the vegetables such as the mushrooms looked and tasted like they came out of a can. Also, the Daiya cheese although not bad but there are much better Vegan cheese such as Miko's Vegan Mozzarella. Visiting from Alaska this is always one of my stops when I visit Augusta due to the consistent friendly atmosphere and excellent food. You never feel rushed when you're eating and are always well cared for by all employees. Watching the pizza chefs tossing dough in plain sight I could tell they were having a good time. I took the family to Mellow Mushroom on the spur of the moment, its Masters week and most places are packed, but the restaurant was half full at best which was both surprising and welcome. We sat down and ordered an appetizer, the bruschetta (which didn't last long) was enjoyable and light according to the rest of our party. Our waitress was very kind and patient, even chiming in at just the right moment with suggestions. I ordered a gluten free pizza, as I have an autoimmune condition that is aggravated by it and she rolled her eyes a bit, probably courtesy of all the gluten free diet fads out there so I didn't hold it against her. Overall, everything was very good. Everyone enjoyed the meal that they received and no one went home hungry. Finding a pizza place that everyone agrees on is a high mark and we'll be going back. read more

We sat down and were served our drinks fairly quickly, and we ordered our food right after. First thing I wanted to mention is how noisy the restaurant was, so after it took about 25 minutes to get the food. we all had headaches. Plus, when the food came out it was barely Luke warm. Some of our food was missing ingredients. With that in mind, I want to mention the outrageous price of $2 per topping. Not $2 for all of the toppings, no, $2 PER. TOPPING. Yes, that is $2 for about 8 pieces of pepperoni, $2 for a spinkle of meatball, $2 for a few leaves of spinach, and every other topping we ordered. After getting a few toppings on their small 10 inch pizza, it took an $11 pizza to $28. Keep in mind when ordering this the pirce of toppings was not clearly listed, so we ordered without a second thought. We hadn't thought that the ingredients would be so expensive as no other pizza place we have EVER been to charges such prices for such little food, i mean come on, there is like a spinkle of each topping on that pizza, worth maybe 50 cents at the MOST. Completely dissatisfied, and we were also charged for the missing toppings on our food and after bringing this issue up to the waiter, we were met with "oh sorry about that but you guys have a great night". No option for a refund or any other compensation. read more

We ordered a medium pizza, half mellow terranean and half kosmic karma (added portobellos). The mellow terranean was blah, we ordered the feta on the side. Again, not something I would order again. The kosmic kosmo had far too much pesto, which was overpowering, opposed to complimenting. Both were too oily. The crust reminds me of a wannabe upscale Domino's. It doesn't seem that any of the ingredients are fresh, I even think the spinach was canned or cooked. Why would you cook spinach before putting it on pizza??? Today, we have been here over an hour, with 2 very hungry toddlers, and we still have yet to get our food. (We have had appetizers but those are long gone by now). When we arrived over an hour ago, we were seated quickly but after 15+ minutes of waiting for a server and watching other tables get seated and have their drink orders taken, I finally just got up, went to the hostess stand, and asked for a server to visit our table. Easily Vegan Friendly Reticent to go to a restaurant with limited vegan options of pizza, calzones and a sandwich, we went as part of a group and was MOST PLEASANTLY surprised. The server was VERY FAMILIAR with what items on the menu were vegan. She promptly took our varied order and refilled beverage glasses, brought extra napkins, answered questions with ease. ONLY complaint is that they do not have vegan mayo and we had asked to substitute a sauce to give the sandwiches we had some moisture and they charged us for this. They reversed it when I told them I thought it was a substitution, but BE SURE you ask if there is a charge for any substitution. Friends got the veggie calzones, veggie pizza, I got the tofu sandwich, husband and friend got the tempeh sandwich. EVERYONE enjoyed their meal. Good size portions for the price. I will no longer avoid Mellow Mushroom and will make it a regular stop when I need lunch in a new town. read more

This is what keeps me a faithful customer of theirs, and I will continue to be one as long as they keep up with their greatness. One of the waitresses here commented that this location isn't as hipster as the downtown location. They get a lot of families with children or parents bringing their kids here for their birthdays. Their tempeh sandwich is so so so good. It's slathered in green peppers, onions, & mushrooms and tastes awesome with red pepper flakes all over it. And I love that they offer vegan cheese! Service is hit or miss (the hostesses aren't very personable), but last time we ate there the waitress was awesome.
