Slow... Slow... Slow... Slower than the Pizza Joint. Did I say Slow. I guess they are not post Covid 19 ready. It is not taking over 45 mins for a Calzone. Finally the Calzone was served, but it was at room temp. Speaking to the manager it is common for food to take this long because of all the pickup orders from Covid 19, which of course does not explain the food temperature. I guess in order to explain the massive pickup orders which I did not see, they had to hold the food for 20 minutes and P.O a customer so they do not come back. Yes they did take off the calzone from the bill. Fortunately if I want to wait, but get hot food I'll go to Pizza Joint. read more

I have heard wonderful things about this restaurant but I'm not a huge fan of pizza so it took us a while to try it but I regret not trying it sooner. We had the Bruschetta, which was quite good, but not the best. But I ordered the Holy Shitake Pie and it was hands down the best pizza I ever had. Yes it was not a traditional pizza, but the flavors were incredible. The crust was ok, but we prefer NY style crust. My husband got a regular meat pizza. He said it was good, but nothing special. There were quite a few options for beer, which is always nice. I definitely recommend this place. read more

I'm going to try to separate my 'tastes' from the dishes as presented. My wife's Bolognese was absolutely delicious and very well seasoned, and the cheesecake was fantastic. My wife thought it had too much crumble; I consider that a feature and would absolutely get that again. The salads were dandelion greens and they were far more bitter than I like, and a generous dose of dressing, something acidic would cover it, or something sweet. The bites I had with tomato were good. But I couldn't really finish it. The big problem was spaghetti with Sunday gravy. It was a huge disappointment. The pasta itself was excellent and the meatballs were okay, but the sauce was surprisingly bland and under-seasoned, especially for a $30+ entrée. It tasted more like plain tomato sauce than the rich, deeply flavored hardy sunday gravy that fully of meaty and salty flavors I was expecting. I do NOT salt my dishes at the table because I season them thru the cook. I wish there were salt and pepper at the table tonight though. The Sunday Gravy tasted decidedly like pure puréed tomato with a few meatballs added after the fact. They were dry and clearly not cooked with the sauce. I wish they had been. The steaks aren't being cooked properly anymore, and even the appetizers fell short of expectations. And don't even get me started on the customer service, which has gone straight downhill. I've never had a problem spending $150 on a good dining experience, especially at a restaurant I genuinely enjoy. But tonight, I left feeling like my money wasn't worth what I received. There were three of us dining: my mama, my daughter and myself. The stars are an average of our ratings. Mama voted 2 stars, DD voted 3.5 and I voted 4. Mama and DD ordered the catfish filet choosing lima beans and squash casserole and a biscuit/collards and onion rings and a corn muffin respectively. DD also ordered the side of 3 shrimp for an extra $4.99. I ordered the fried shrimp with lima beans and squash casserole. The good: all the proteins were cooked well. The catfish was tender and flakey with a light coating and the shrimp was very well cooked and tasty. We also agreed the beer batter onion rings were well done. The okay: Mama found her lima beans "dry" and unseasoned but I thought they were fine. She didn't care for the squash casserole but I liked it and thought they had used fresh squash. DD said the collards but should have been cooked longer. The breads were all passable if on the smaller side. The not so good: we ordered a crab leg cluster on the side and it was pretty paltry. The meat was hard to get out of the shell and the promised melted butter never got to the table. We also ordered 2 desserts to share and didn't care for either. The most egregious was the banana pudding which looked like an unappetizing gray mass. DD said the banana wasn't ripe. The peach cobbler was the better of the two but after hearing folks rave about it I expected better. We didn't finish either dessert. The total with a 15% tip was $67.
